  1. One of the "unfamiliar" shooters has been known to do quite well at IDPA Nationals Beware of those you haven't seen in USPSA before....B-class will be a free-for-all, no doubt about that
  2. Just one of many I hear in my head...but he's not the loudest. That's assuming we'll actually hit the damned things enough to justify switching targets...just go with the Bill Drill's.
  3. Although I didn't go to Wheelies, I read the posts, ah - NO - nothing like Wheelies. This place actually has table cloths and cloth napkins. It's a little more up scale but not stuffy. Just a nice quiet place to eat and shoot the S*&T. Lots of tables and space in the back for the entire revolver crowd. Shorts are acceptable, no flip flops. Not sure this is an endorsement but Flexmoney and SAnderson started the tradition. Steak, asparagus, corn nibblers, and fried mushrooms (onion loaf if memory serves) - LOTS of Coors. Pick a night - Some of us will probably be there every night. So....let's make it a gathering. Auto shooters welcome too...
  4. Open invite to the entire revolver crowd for drinks and dinner in Hannibal, MO on Wednesday night (or one of the other nights if everyone prefers). T J's Supper Club: 573-221-5551 211 Munger Ln Hannibal, MO 63401, US This place has a really good deal on steak dinners "the pounder special" if we call ahead and make arrangements for them to have enough for a crowd. I forget how much it costs but it wasn't ridiculous (but it isn't a burger joint either). Dinner place in back, bar up front.
  5. That's quite a convincing post, I'll have to admit. Thanks Mike!
  6. Keep two reloads behind the centerline or holster and prone won't be an issue either An open shooter perspective is still appreciated...especially when we know there's a revolver shooter screaming to get out.
  7. Keep both . Version two could be modified with \ l l / hardcover on the first six targets...just to make it fun
  8. There was a time when a man would bet you a dollar to a doughnut that a 10 second El Prez was not possible....how about a 3.2 second El Prez? Anyway, until someone can come along and shoot 06-10 in 2.5 seconds you have earned the 100% with your 3.7 and if that gets you a GM card then so be it. Shooting some of these classifiers may not be hard for some of us but if it were truly easy, everyone in the revolver division would be shooting them at 100% - but they're not....someone is going to eventually raise the bar even by a hair. At least that my take on it, I could be wrong.
  9. HOLY CRAP! That's truly remarkable and a great accomplishment. I predict that board will begin to fill up in the next year. Don't sluff off the accomplishment, you earned it - ENJOY IT. The rest of us certainly are.....
  10. Great job MCB, it won't be long and we'll be seeing you in B Class. I made the jump up this time last year. I just made it back to the Top 20 in B Class...see if I can hold on for a month or two.
  11. EXCELLENT Chris! Very inspiring. Skill comes from diligence, congratulations.
  12. Thanks Kim! There's three or four revolver squads all separated neatly by class....it's going to be AWESOME. Who would have imagined this a couple of years ago?
  13. Congrats Dennis! I concur with Lefty, you and Bob need to keep shooting really well for the next month (and move into A class before the Nationals ) Keep up the good work guys - you're going to make the rest of us better trying to keep up.
  14. I think it was covered in this or another thread but from what I understand it wasn't that smooth and easy as it may have looked from this side of the monitor . If my poor memory serves, Ms. Kim said it was rather tedious and complicated because of all the juggling, jumping, and last minute alterations "behind the scenes" too keep up with exceptions and requests as the date neared. I guess you could say that we did have a say in it this year because we didn't do a good job of following directions last year regarding squadding issues - so this year it was not utilized. With a match of this size it could get crazy trying to keep up with that many shooters jumping around on a web page . We should try to remember that squad requests are a privilege and convenience for us but an added thing to worry about for the folks that put on the biggest match of the year. PS - Kim, do it on Tuesday - from work...you get a weekend too
  15. Stewart was on my squad at A8 in 2005. He's a super nice guy and didn't laugh too much as I reloaded every six rounds. He's also the luckiest man I've ever met - just ask his wife.
  16. Definitely go with the revolver first. You don't want to jump right into that new-fangled technology too soon. Those square guns have too many moving parts and your horse won't like them.
  17. A funny thing happened on the way to shot number five.... This weekend I was shooting CM 03-18 High Standards and on shot number four the fiber optic falls out of my revolver front sight. There I was shooting along and the sight goes black.... So I keep blazing away and finish the first string...the front sight looked like it was a foot closer - I could see every detail of it as it lifted from one target to the next. I finished the second string after asking the guys behind me to pick up my fiber if they found it. Finished with a potential 72%. Truly eye-opening.
  18. Two are on the self-squadding list so far. I'm in, but not on the board yet. Pretty sure Lefty45 will be in also. That makes four...plus Mr. Bill will make five. One more and I'll have to reload...
  19. 34, that's just awesome. Too bad we couldn't figure a way to get all this revolver action on a DVD ....think of the promotion that would offer if someone got all this on tape. I bet even some of the auto guys would buy it just to see how the heck to shoot one in USPSA....O.K., that might be a stretch but you never know. Pretty neat to think of the historical precedent we're setting this year. We have got to get a group photo if possible.
  20. Kudos to Mr. Moneypenny. Looks like you did well for yourself! Very tight race in Production indeed! Nice finish for Kyle, Chris, and Mark also. Great job guys! Congrats to Dennis in revolver also. Hope you can make the Nationals. You're on the move...
  21. That picture answers my question if he changes clothes between matches (see A8 2006 photo) I'm telling you he's not human!!! It's not a shirt it's his skin!!!!
  22. Better pack a lunch Cheetahs . That top five is a tall order. Those guys don't play nice at the Nationals. Would be nice to see ya give'm a run though. Personally, I'd be content with a top five in B Class with that number of revolvers competing! What's our running total? Over 34 yet?
  23. He cut two of mine down...but he has a current waiting list of over seven months. I'd buy another one in 4" and shoot USPSA until it arrives.

    Area 8

They have thick skins - they shoot revolvers! If you have any reservations I'm sure you could offer to purchase a Coors at some point. They are a very forgiving bunch Can't wait to see you knuckleheads at the Nationals! It's going to be SWEET. BIGDEER, don't be a stranger. Post anytime.
