  1. I wish I could afford to send my kids to a private school. They have been attending a "Back to Basics" Charter school. So far, so good, but only time will tell.
  2. I believe they are hammer forged, but not polygonal.
  3. I don't get it. What's the purpose?
  4. olp, Thanks, I'll look into that...although I've never seen the original match barrels. I didn't even know they existed. At least not around these parts. Are they drop in or do they need to be fitted?
  5. Weird, especially since I just saw what he looked like for the first time from his recent Geico commercials. So long, movie guy.
  6. Wow, thanks for the quick reply. I'll keep that in mind, but I'd really prefer not to fork over the big $$$ and deal with the loooooong wait by dealing with Barsto. But in the end, if I must, I must.
  7. I have an old school 9mm Witness with the small frame. The barrel lugs are pretty worn and peened, while the inside of the slide still looks brand new. Brownell's used to sell 6" oversized Briley barrels, but haven't now for a few years. I can't find anything on Briley's site. Is there any place where I can get a new barrel fitted to my Witness? I'd prefer not to get another crappy stock barrel.
  8. Definitely not moly coated. I have some MGs from two different batches. One batch looks more brass colored than copper. The other batch looks just like the Hornadys. Go figure.
  9. Primer smear is very common on .40s, but I've rarely seen it on 9mms. Sig pistols seem to be notorious for primer smear, but I can't say that I recall seeing them in a Glock. How'd they print?
  10. What is the thickness of the plating? How were the tolerances before and after the plating?
  11. I read and was told that TAC wasn't temp sensitive. I have not found that to be the case. Nothing touches Varget for consistency in all temps. I just wish it could magically be a ball powder.
  12. 00bullitt, That is fantastic information! What are you using for a crimp? The Lee FCD? What about the primer? I have been using 25gr of TAC and a Russian primer. I was going to use 2230 and 335, but I read somewhere that they were temp sensitive and that TAC supposedly was not. Eric, didn't know that about the BC. Thanks.
  13. Thank you. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear!
  14. Has anyone compared the two bullets? Shot for groups? The consensus seems to be that the Hornadys are good for 1-1.5MOA. I can get the MGs a little cheaper, but wondering if they are really a better buy?
  15. Those velocities sound awfully high for a 185gr SMK!
  16. Does the inside of your gun (namely your frame/slide rails) have any wear on them? Do you think this would help preserve the tight fits of an accurizing job?
  17. I have a Pro 2000 in addition to the Dillon 550. I like the press. It is built like a brick shithouse. But I was weaned on the 550 long before the 2000 came out, so it is somewhat awkward for me to use and much slower.
  18. The barrel lugs in my Wonderfinish Witness 9mm are getting really worn and peened. I'm looking to get a Briley oversized barrel from Brownell's fitted. Do any of you kindly shooters know of an Arizona pistolsmith that can fit a Tanfoglio/Witness barrel? Thanks!!!
  19. Perhaps you aren't seating your primers below flush of the case head, so the case isn't sitting perfectly level on the ram platform?
  20. I've seen you tearing it up with your G21 and your Beretta (I think maybe also your Sig 220 but I'm not sure), but I thought you sold the SV 9mm because you shot it too fast! 10-4 about the smoke at night. That short Asian guy with his open gun and hot lead reloads can smoke out the whole damn bay! My wife was cool enough to buy me a membership for Christmas, so I have no excuse not to get out there anymore! Do you shoot any other matches other than TNS and 3-gun matches at Rio? (Edited by Qbert at 6:51 pm on Dec. 25, 2002)
  21. Hey Tim! Do you use em at Tues Night Steel? What the heck have you been shooting out there anyway?
  22. Thanks, Rishii and George! As far as I know, Bill sold the company to a guy named Rudy Warren or maybe he's a distributor or something. I seem to remember him saying he owned the company and made the bullets himself at the gunshow I met him at though.
