Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. considering the new upper runs $350-400 bucks and a new match or limited pistol runs $1500+ I would not consider that a "few dollars more" I paid $469 for my last 45acp Match perhaps were talking about different firearms, but for that amount I would not buy a conversion.
  2. I do not want to offend but in my opinion conversions make little sense for a few dollars more buy an new pistol in caliber of choice.
  3. Good info, I supects due to lands/grooves being less pronounced standard size lead bullets would tend to be less accurate just guessing since I have not tried lead at this point.
  4. I've had my elite match about 6 months great pistol however as a reloader I've always used 200swc's in my 1911 however with the match nothing I do in terms of OAL will produce consistent reliability, finally I've given up and use only 230 round nose anyone had this experience.? Oh, yeah I also polished the feed ramp.
  5. Not rude at all, I have a match and honestly I cannot tell it appears to be standard rifling, I considering reloading using lead bullets and have heard polygonal does cause more leading. EAA advertising states Polygonal rifling however ive read on various boards and gun shops tell me they are not. I've also read the polygonal type is more accurate, true, false.? I like my Match 45acp but trying too learn more as I do with any new firearm.
  6. Does the witness match elite have POLYGONAL RIFLING, while advertising states it does I've had various shops say no it does not.
  7. Waiting patiently on that new front sight,
  8. Thanks for the fast reply and now I feel dumb should have known at my age release pressure on screw makes sense.(smile)
  9. Purchased a witness match in 45acp, rounds I use print about 1 inch low at 15 yards would like to raise point of impact, have problems adjusting sight no instructions included with gun, top of sight has UP only and screw appears extremely tight with small tool included with gun, advice please, do not want to damage sight.
  10. Thanks for all the info very helpful, I may wait on optic sights until the newer, smaller version arrives, while I shoot OK with it now my old eyes need something bright to pickup in certain conditions. The plastic safety is OK with me I thought perhaps it may be a weak point down the road. I was thinking of adding a set of hogue rubber grips(CZ75B) while I like the looks of wood I prefer rubber in shooting. I tend to shoot a new pistol several hundred rounds before making any changes the match I can see will be one of my favorites along with my Springfield Loaded 1911 with a match barrel it appears they are similar in accuracy.
  11. Just purchased a new witness match in 45acp and it appears to be super accurate had a couple questions and I hope someone on the forum can help. I want to purchase a fiber optic sight, the model I have uses a set screw and the front sight slides forward to remove, I see a red insert at Hennings and also on EAA website however the EAA sight appears not to fit the match model. Is any Fiber optic sights available in green for this model.? Also the safety appears to be plastic am I correct on this or is it a super light aluminum.
