Everyone will have their own experience, but I bought an Eagle in April this year and have 5000 rounds through it without breaking anything. I bought a Trubor a couple of months ago and have run almost three thousand rounds of major 9mm without a part failure. I don't know what they are made of, but they work for me. YMMV Bill

I've been there when Gary shot zero down matches and I have watched him win, but I missed this one. Congrats Gary Man bullets...Hah They are just...SLOW!!! Bill

Nothing to fret about. You will do fine and it is really neat to watch as the cath roots around in there. It is incredible what they can do for us now. Good luck and have a great day Bill

The only insight I have is that I have been using a CR Speed setup from Max's choice and have no complaints. I liked that he puts it all together in a kit and discounts it. The belt, holster, and mag pouches all seem to work great. The velcro seems to be holding up fine. Just my .02 Bill

Excellent article, and yes Steve it is in the November issue. Bill

I did it at last weeks match and it was perfect. Someone yelled something about a "gamer move", but I didn't care. Another man tried it and lost about 15 seconds fumbling with the disaster! The entertainment value was high! Bill

I'm a lefty and use a CR speed rig for my STI Eagle and Trubor. I can manipulate the lock just fine and have had no problems with this whole rig from Max Michael. Just my .02 Bill

If it is not a limited stage, you can make up the shot on the way back. After all targets have been engaged, they can be shot in any order. Get your hits, in the stage you describe a miss is a huge percentage of overall time. Get the hits!!! With that said...I can miss really fast! Bill

Congrats and thank you for your service. Also, thank you for paving the way for those who come behind you. I put my son on a plane headed for his first tour of the sandbox today. Bill

I wish I could play, but I'm just a newbie with a box stock Trubor. I have only shot two matches and one organized practice the first week I had it. I did run 650 rounds through it in the first week though. Oh well, someday Bill

I don't know why it is called the dark side, I am just happy to be here. Bill

My new Trubor even ran factory ammo out of the box. My eagle runs, even when I neglect it and feed it poorly. I work in an industry where everyone copies each others designs and I personally don't approve of it. If you want to do it...Do it better. Design your own system that is better than the previous one. Just my .02 Bill

Inexperienced Shooters
RV man replied to CSEMARTIN's topic in Miscellaneous Topics That Do Not Fit in Any Other Forum
It is a valid point, based on the timing of the question I'll use IDPA classifications. I personally think people should be a upper SS level shooter as a minimum, with at least one season of SO experience. I know from my own experience that the first sanctioned match I worked I might have been on the edge. I was supposed to be paired with a more experienced SO but it didn't happen. I did the best I could and learned some lessons hopefully not at the expense of the shooters. There is often not enough help to put on a match without the enthusiasm of the newer shooters. I understand it can cause problems, but it is better than not holding a match. Bill -
It is just like the one on the STI website. I really like the DOT!!! Bill

The reason I have 126mm mags is because they also fit my IDPA gun. I see no advantage unless I want to carry my open gun concealed. Bill

Yes, yes I did Steve. Derrick told me they had them. You can see it if I get to go to Waco this weekend. If I can find out how to get there. Bill Use the map, Bill MAP Got it!!!

Gary, I might let you touch it if you ask real nice. Bill

I type as well as I shoot!!! Yes, the oal is 1.165. I ran another 100 rounds last night and this thing just eats up ammo. Bill

Way to go!!! I picked up my Open gun today and after 200 rounds I also wish I had done it long ago. Bill

I received my new 9mm TRU BOR from Thunder Mountain today. Fresh out of the box, it ran everything from WWB to 1500fps loads without a hiccup. The best surprise was the spare mags I bought from them. They were polished at no extra charge and looked great and ran perfect. The load I am using now is: 124 gr Montana Gold CMJ Winchester small rifle primers 7.3 gr True Blue 1.65 oal mixed brass This gave me 1375 fps and seems to be a good starting place. Thanks Mike for taking care of me on this purchase. Bill

I run my timer by myself. My wife can get in the range by herself and run the timer for me, but I get really tired of getting SLAPPED in the head for being too slow! Bill

Micro size 1911s
RV man replied to JimInFL's topic in Miscellaneous Topics That Do Not Fit in Any Other Forum
I have the same story as "hk". I loved my Springfield Micro compact, but could not trust it completely. I traded in on a Wilson that doesn't carry as easily, but ALWAYS RUNS!!! A friend of mine just bought a STI 3 inch and it shows great promise. Bill
