  1. have you watched Tandemkross’ mag tuning video? This solved all my mag issues. Hope this helps.
  2. From what I’ve read, .40 is a dying caliber. In many of the shooting sports, 9mm in Carry Optics or Limited Optics is the popular trend. Some guys are downloading their .40 loads and adding a slide mounted red dot to join the crowd.
  3. I’ve been shooting Glocks for years and yes, I believe a tungsten guide rod is a good investment. I also found that a heavy mag well, like the Carver Custom is also a good addition to the 34. I don’t know anything about threaded barrels, sorry!
  4. I’d try the 9 lb spring and if this doesn’t solve your problem, you could try an 8lb or just remove the brake. I don’t believe a heavier firing pin spring or main spring would solve your problem. I’m curious as to what other shooters think.
  5. Just call Wolff Gunsprings for your spring recommendation. 800-545-0077. I had good luck with stock STI followers. Other buddies swore by Dawson followers.
  6. Found online: Yes, you can put a 17/34 slide on a 19 frame. Here’s how. ADVICE This keeps coming up alot lately, so I figured I’d give a quick explanation, and hopefully this clears it up for people. Yes, a Gen 3 17/34 slide will work on a Gen 3 19 compatible frame, with some changes. Three, to be exact. The only issues that stop this from happening naturally are the locking block/barrel lug mating, the guide rod length change from alleviating the barrel issue, and the gap between the end of the slide and the frame (that covers the recoil spring/guide rod). These can be accounted for. Issue #1: The Barrel You can alleviate the barrel issue by either: A) Getting a Lone Wolf Distributors barrel (19l for the 17, 19xl for the 34) Getting the Brownell’s 19 Long barrel (and their 19 long slide... only 17 length, no 34 available), or C) Getting a Gen 5 17/34 barrel (the lug pattern on the Gen 5 matches the locking block of the 19, and does fit properly inside a gen 3 17/34 slide). Issue #2: The Guide Rod Due to changing the lug spacing, you will need the extended guide rod from Lone Wolf (example here)... with the lug pattern shift on the barrel, the standard guide rod will come up a little short. (Shout out to u/PopPopSun and u/gammaRay-Ray for pointing this out) Issue #3: The Slide-To-Frame Gap To solve, get the Lone Wolf Distributors slide adapter (link). Those are the only changes you need to make. Otherwise it’s just getting the appropriate parts (gen 3, with upper parts matching the slide, and lower parts matching the frame). Hope that sorts things out for everybody. Have fun building.
  7. No, just as many as your tube holds, but I would add a Matchsaverz to your gun. https://matchsaverz.com/index.html
  8. My buddy is shooting one in USPSA and says it’s almost like shooting an STI or an older Para. He loves his.
  9. I’ve heard that the grips need a little something. Ordered from here, precut for Platypus. https://www.handleitgrips.com/product-page/stealth-arms-platypus-gun-grip-enhancement-gun-parts-kit
  10. At Sunday’s match, I was able to inspect and shoot my buddy’s new Platypus. It was even better than I hoped! (I recently ordered my own without having seen one). The fit and finish was great and it shot really well! His is all black and mine will be a little different!
  11. Thanks, my tricked out Glock 34 will be my backup.and I just sold my current backup 34 to help fund the new gun. CZs are a popular choice at my clubs.
  12. Here’s something which is quite affordable and runs right out of the box, the Stealth Arms Platypus. A fully customizable 2011: it comes in under $1800 with the optics cut of your choice and uses inexpensive Glock mags. I was able to inspect and shoot my buddy’s yesterday. He ordered his with a 3 lb. trigger that was very nice. It ran without any problems during our match and I found it fun to shoot. I’m glad I liked it, I had ordered mine a couple of weeks ago without seeing one!
  13. It’s excellent for action pistol. At our Tuesday night league it’s what almost everyone uses.
  14. I had an M&P C.O.R.E., although the top of the mags were metal, the bottom third was plastic. They would shear at the seam when dropped on the concrete floor at our indoor matches.
  15. There are many YouTube range reports on the Platypus. No negative reviews at all.
