  1. If the RMR cut isn’t available in a couple of weeks, I probably won’t even order. My buddy is getting his Platypus sometime in October. If it knocks my socks off, I may change my mind.
  2. A blank grip panel is not an option. Once the RMR slide cut is offered, I’ll order mine and also order a sheet from Talon grips so I can make my own grip surface once my Platypus arrives. That seems to be the gun’s only shortcoming. A future option is a grip that is less smooth. I’m not going to wait for that. The RMR option is already 2 months late. If I didn’t already have an SRO ready to mount, I’d have ordered the DPP slide cut months ago!
  3. The P320 magazines are in a video of future offerings.
  4. I think that’s probably a routine job for a good gunsmith. I probably wouldn’t try to get it out myself.
  5. I ordered and have used the Kore inner belt and it completely soled the uncomfortable bunching problem recommend it highly!! https://www.koreessentials.com/products/inner-liner-belt?_pos=1&_sid=ecfe673d1&_ss=r
  6. Found online: How to prevent the polish from rubbing off your gun – If you are concerned that the holster you have is rubbing the finish/polish off your gun, it’s time to get a new one. You’ll want a holster that has a smooth lining, to reduce the amount of friction that is generated from drawing & holstering the firearm. The dense hard plastic used in kydex holsters can be very abrasive and can remove the finish and leave noticeable scratches on your firearm. Leather holsters are usually softer and break in to reduce the amount of force needed to draw the firearm from the holster. We suggest choosing a leather holster that is lined with a very soft and smooth leather, which generally reduces and/or eliminates the threat of abrasive friction.
  7. Hi, I’m from Western New York, welcome!
  8. Will the JP be legal in your state?
  9. From everything I’ve read, it’s just a very good Glock trigger What you have now is probably equal to or better than the Performance trigger. Hope this helps.
  10. It might be cheaper to replace the mags that don’t work with STI mags that do. Sell the other mags and save the money you’d spend on a gunsmith. Just a thought.
  11. If you have a quality scope, I’d say every 6 months.
  12. Yes, but an outer belt without an inner belt must go through, I believe, 2 or 3 belt loops to be legal.
  13. I sight mine in at our indoor range, about 50 feet.
  14. Hi, so I’m thinking a little out of the box here, but have you looked at the Stealth Arms Platypus? It’s a 9mm 2011 that uses Glock mags. There are a ton of videos online and all that I’ve seen love the gun. The company has a gun builder online so you can configure your pistol the way you want it, including trigger type and weight of pull. You can also specify the optics cut if you’d like to add a red dot in the future.Their guns top out at $1750 and once ordered take about 4 months to get. The huge advantage this has over other 2011s is the cost of mags. The average Glock mag is around $25 and the average 2011 mag is 3 to 4 times that price. This is the one I’m going to order once an RMR optics cut is available. Hope this helps. https://www.stealtharms.net/p/platypus
  15. I’m lost here! I just like shooting!
  16. Thanks for your quick reply! So, I can order one in 2 weeks and hope I can manipulate the safety easily, or wait 3 months to try my buddy’s before ordering. From what you’ve said about the trigger, I’m going to take a chance and order it sooner rather than later!
  17. Hi, so I’m very close to ordering one for USPSA’s Limited Optics Division (the RMR slide cut will be available in approximately 2 weeks), and was just wondering a few things. I shoot Glocks exclusively and although the triggers I installed are top notch, do you think the Platypus trigger would be a significant improvement? Is the recoil manageable with its aluminum frame? And finally, although I can reach my Glock’s mag release (without a back strap), I just tried my buddy’s STI this morning, and I wasn’t able to depress it without rolling the pistol towards me. Is the Platypus’ grip smaller than a regular 2011’s? And do you think the mag release will be able to be depressed more easily like my Glocks? Thank you. Here is the gun I’ve built online.
  18. I emailed them with a question and they responded the next day. If you have any doubts, I’d just contact them. After watching a ton of Platypus videos, I think it might be more suitable for Limited Optics and minor 9mm. Here is the pistol I’m thinking of ordering.
  19. That should be it, but if you want to skip drilling and tapping the frame, you could have it milled for a Trijicon SRO and just shoot Limited Optics. If you decide you don’t care for that division, then turn it into an Open gun. Just a thought.
  20. No, I don’t know the makers of the slides. If you do 2 searches, one for stripped Glock 17 slides and one for Glock 17 slides, you’ll find quite a few. Be sure to include the generation you’re looking for. Hope this helps.
  21. Sounds strange, but eBay has exactly what you’re looking for. There are a ton of 17 slides with the RMR cut. If you have any issue with the slide, just return it for a full refund. I built 2 -26s and 2-17s this winter and only had to return one of the 17 slides I purchased. Hope this helps!
  22. Welcome! Hope your weather has improved!
