  1. While sc lasts longer you still have to pick it up and at a list brass match its gone 9mm is much easier to get and if it gets lost big deal
  2. I usually Plan for 1 extra round in the gun at the end of the stage unless it will not require a reload at all for the shotgun. For the rifle and pistol I flip the safety on For the shotgun, I double tap the last target if the spare round wasnt already used and then barrel it.
  3. Have a lone wold 24 slide and like it
  4. Our local 3 gun match ended up going to one where if you have not shot an action match before you can't shoot the 3 gun which I think is a good thing. We had far to many people come out who had shot nothing before and decided to try 3 gun Problems ranged from having no clue how to operate their gun at all where they could barely load or unload the gun Throw in movement when someone is use to a static range if that and an extra long gun or 2 per stage and loading and moving with them and if that's their first match ever they a lot of tiles are overwhelmed. At least with a pistol only match you don't have as much to deal with. On usually suggest someone try steel first to get comfortable then move in to uspsa and then 3 gun.
  5. I think your gonna have reliability issues on a sbr/pistol trying to go with a real light setup run a spikes h2 buffer and a 16 carrier in mine
  6. I have seen one stage stage where it could have been an advantage to take a miss with the penalties. It was a 10 round point blank stage where hit factors were doable at 14-15 or more and you Were basically in the trigger the whole time with a single stack gun you could shoot 9 of the 10 rounds without a reload where you wouldn't really have a time for a reload at all with that hit factor unless you were doing 1 second reloads you were better off taking the miss
  7. good stiff brush on a drill cleans it quick or a nice acetone bath
  8. The slide mount is fine if you don't wanna modify the fun. I would probibally go with a regular cmore though
  9. Not much difference in stripped uppers
  10. It's not the distributors raising prices. The ammo is basically allocated so the huge places get a lot of it and the small places get very very little if any. A lot of the small places are forced to buy from unconventional sources to have stuff and thus the cost goes up. The big places have a couple options keep prices the same and limit it severely which means people can get some but not a lot but the price is down. Keep price the same win no limit and some get what they need at a good price but ALOT goes into the hands of the people flipping it on a secondary market. Or 3rd option price it themselves for what people Are paying and avoid letting the flippers make the lions share of the profits. I don't think the little guy is really to blame as they are either getting very little in and have to keep the foods open on less product or are paying more themselves to find it. The large places who get stuff are making money hand over fist. The small ones who don't are not doing good at all
  11. depends on the follower. If your 40 hangs around round 17 you simply bevel the bottom of the follower on the back side. takes a couple min to do max
  12. Have both and they are both comparable also take a look at the taran tactical ones as well. The round count, ease of use are the same and they are both quality extentions and i get the same capacity with either. If you want tooless go dawson or taran if you dont mind a tool the arradondo works also. I would go with ever one i could find in stock now
  13. Sti tube Dawson +1 extension . May use the snl but It may not be legal without modification for follower either grams with 11 coil or Dawson follower. The Dawson with the ismi spring usually costs you a round for a usual 19 round mag over 20 with the grams but the springs last longer none of my tubes are tuned and all run perfect
  14. No I would go sportsman anyway as I'm not a fan Of the rubber stuff in the stock and don't see it as worth the extra cost. With the rules leaning toward 8+1 at start only a lot are running longer guns. I run a 28 inch barrel with 13 rounds for 3 gun. The 21-22 in fun isn't as popular as it once was
  15. Ya you would need the cam pin firing pin and retainer also plus the bolt it's self
  16. Ar stoner have been having problems as of recent
  17. The bullets are just like everything else out there in short supply ammo primers and not so much now but anything AR15 related. You have the choice of waiting or having something the second you want it. Take rifles for instance. If you wanted one late dec and into January and you wanted it NOW you had that opportunity as you could snag your 70 dollar pmags 40-50 buck gi mags to put in your 2500 dollar piece of junk that someone cobbled together with whatever spare or takeoff parts they had laying around or even build your own with a stripped lower for the low price of 350+. If you we're willing to wait you can now get those rifles new for sub 1k lowers for 120 and pmags under 20 With companies needing to push overtime it's gonna raise the cost some since the labor to produce those bullets has gone up. The places that stopped taking orders or put a limit did it for a reason. If they didn't it would really push times off as guys wouldn't be ordering a case if bullets to last them a few months they would be ordering what their credit cards would hold.
  18. I think right now the box limit is the only thing keeping jt from getting even worse. Take away the box limit and it won't be wait 30 min in line it will be wait for hours in line as it would make it more beneficial for the person after the money to wait to snag every round that came in and do like was already said and sell it in the parking lot or online. At least with a 3 box limit it makes it less of an incentive.
  19. Whatever I have at the time. I don't think what you use is as important as using it where it's needed in the right amount unless the lube is too thick etc
  20. The only way the prices will drop is when people wake up and quit paying it. There are people cleaning out the large places paying 120 bucks for a box if 325 federal auto match The small places are having trouble getting any and are often having to turn to unconventional places to get any thing at all. The mega places are the ones getting it and are either charging super high prices and selling out, are putting such low limits that the price is still high when you pay the shipping ir are keeping the prices low and alot is getting picked up by the flippers who are making bug bucks tax free on it. Until people calm down and quit paying it it won't get any better. Look at the rifles and mags. The prices have dropped like a rock and there are ar15s sitting on the shelf at 850 that would have gone for 2500 in a matter if minutes in January.
  21. Its not hard to find, its just hard to find at prices people wanna pay. Armslist is full of walmarts stock for sale at roughly 4 times the cost it originally sold for
  22. If its for one gun only then the daa racer since the blocks arnt needed. The lock on the holster is rock solid and can be easily engaged with the hand still in the gun. It can also be swept off fast and easy on the draw for non traditional starting positions.
  23. Ya mine wouldn't even come close to fitting a box
