  1. ...anybody else???...TIA....mikey357
  2. iainmcphersn makes a VERY GOOD point...check w/Clark Custom and David Clements about "Take-Offs"...I once purchased a "Take-Off" 686 cylinder from Clements...never DID find out what the NEW cylinder was for...I was AFRAID to ask!!!....mikey357
  3. Duck, I had THOUGHT about a "Slide Ride" kinda' optic, but...as I'm NEW to "Red Dot" sights, I think I"ll put a Carver mount on it with the "Weaver" rail, and EXPERIMENT with a coupla' "Big Can"--NOT my "Behind", BTW--sights as well as a C-more or OKO...would I do better with these sights if I DID tighten the slide??? Paulie, whattayamean, "Out of YOUR Price Range"??? A Well-to-do retired FED like yourself??? Man, IF I had YOUR MONEY, I'd BURN MINE!!!....mikey357
  4. Hey, Tony, "Long Time, No See"!!! Yeah, I AM aware of the SJC "Raceguns"...VERY nice, but a lil' MORE than what I need for my poor attempts at "Steel" and "GSSF" Matches...I figger' I can save a bit of money--QUITE a bit, actually--by putting the gun together myself, with only what I NEED on it, and leaving off those features I do NOT need/want...leaves "Mo' Money" for OTHER GUNS and AMMO, dontcha' know!!! BTW, are you gonna' shoot the July "Steel Match"??? Sure would be good to see ya' shootin' the "Roundgun"!!!....mikey357
  5. I am currently getting the parts together to "Build"...more like, "Assemble"...a Glock "Racegun"...primary purpose(s) will be for "Steel Challenge"-type matches and the occasional GSSF Match, where it will run in ""Unlimited". I plan to use either a Bar-Sto or a KKM barrel, both of which have a more SUPPORTED chamber than the O.E.M. Glock barrel...what I'm wondering is, with NO FURTHER "Mods", like slide tightening, etc., will the "RaceGlock" be suitable for limited use with 9mm "Major", should I get a "Wild Hair" and wanted to use it in USPSA matches??? Your opinions/comments are welcome...I THINK!!!....mikey357
  6. Well, Cliff, had I known it was YOU considering it, I would have suggested a slightly DIFFERENT "Tactical Approach"...remember the old Doctor Hook song where they go, "...tell them who we are!!!"? YOU should tell the dealer who YOU are, and I bet he'd cut, oh, fourty or fifty percent off the "Asking Price", minimum...but don't be surprised if you hafta' sign some AUTOGRAPHS, too...for his "Kids", of course... ....mikey357
  7. $750 is more than I would pay, but as others have already pointed out, it probably WILL bring that...and WHATEVER Luke does to it will probably diminish it's value! IF he wants one, he'd do better to try and find one at the high end of "Shooter Grade"...better price, and probably couldn't hurt the value by shooting it more...MUCH....mikey357
  8. ...hey, Paulie, you are RIGHT ON about John...he wanted either 10K or 15K of the "Small Pistol", can't remember...the ol' "CRS" is acting up again...too many "Rotating Shifts" this week--betcha' don't miss THAT!!!--I guess havin' a youngin' who shoots MORE and BETTER than you do "Eats Up the Ammo" sometimes!!! Worst part is, John's "Carpal Tunnel" gets flared up from time to time from pullin' the handle on the Dillon!!! Let me know if YOU need any, prolly' have enough coming to spare another 5 or 10K...sounds almost like a RACE, huh???...Later....mikey357
  9. ...hey, Paulie...IZZAT YOU??? ...Widener's DID have some...'til SOMEBODY bought most of 'em up... ...let me know if you need any...guess I could spare a coupla' thou' for a poor, retired "Civil Servant"...LOL!!!....mikey357
  10. "Your Mileage May Vary..."....mikey357
  11. Tony, I haven't dealt with Griffin Pawn since Dave and Jon left...altho' it sounds like I missed a NICE 629!!!...I DID trade off a four-inch 629-4 some years back that I wish I still had, however...BTW, I think I ended up with a 617 of yours last year...sound familiar???....mikey357
  12. "Super Glue" and the eraser from a "Number Two" pencil will do the same thing...OLD "PPC" shooter's trick...HTH....mikey357
  13. Tony IS a NICE GUY...getting better as a SHOOTER, too...don't know if he's got Internet access or not, but the next time I see him, I'll mention it to him....mikey357
  14. Cy, check out the S&W Model 317...an"Airweight" eight-shot J-frame, it is available with a three-inch barrel and adjustable sights or a two-inch barrel with fixed sights...although not real COMMON, they CAN be found, if you LOOK long enough...if you haven't found something you like in about a month or six weeks, I'm sure Mrs. 3-5-7 will let you try HERS, once it is "Rescued" from the "Layaway Monster"!!!...HTH....mikey357
  15. ...naahhh, I don't think "Scary Jerry" does much cleanin'...saw him do a "Demo" at the local Indoor Range/Gun Shop about a year and a half ago, and MAN, were his guns DIRTY!!!...he SAID he had one K-frame "Performance Center" gun that hadn't been cleaned in NINE YEARS!!!...probably a SLIGHT exaggeration, but...BOY, were they DIRTY!!!...FWIW....mikey357
  16. My Wife and I usually shoot this Match...GREAT People, GREAT Match! You'll see ALL Skill Levels, from true beginners to World Champion-class shooters...and the vast majority of 'em will bend over BACKWARDS to help you!!! Just remember, the only DUMB Question is the one you DON'T ask... THIS weekend, however, I hafta' do one of those "Husband"-type things...must take the Wife to a WINE TASTING in North GA Mountains...it's once a year, and we've been doing it longer than we've been "Shooting Steel", so...a SMALL price to pay for her putting up with me, I say!!!...Good Luck at the Match...be safe, and remember: "Front sight, Squeeeeze..." and then on to the NEXT Target!!!...Hope you enjoy it, and hope to see you in June!!!....mikey357
  17. Haras, any luck on finding the "Formula" from the Eye Doc buddy???...TIA....mikey357
  18. Hey, Cliff, have you got a FIVE-inch 610 with the firing pin on the hammer--where God, Horace an' D.B. MEANT for it to be??? If so, "PM" or e-mail me... ....mikey357
  19. Hey, Cliff, how bad do ya' want one??? I'll trade you the NEWER and less-used one I've got for that ol', worn-out 627 you shot at the Georgia State Steel Match in January...sound like a "Deal" to you???...Let me know....mikey357
  20. Paul is right, I DO have TWO 646's...the "Newer" of the two--the used gun--"Set me Back" MORE than the new one I bought last year...I bought it primarily because it had an "Action Job" by Dave Clements AND it came with about three DOZEN "Moonclips"!!! I just picked it up from my friendly, local FFL holder a coupla' days ago, and have not had a chance to fire it yet...how's Saturday, at either Autrey's or Ga. Range and Gun sound, Paul???...let me know....mikey357
  21. mikey357

    Goodbye 1911s

FWIW, "Dave" HAS a coupla' 1911's...I think he really PREFERS the GLOCK!!!...go figger'....mikey357
  22. ...it APPEARS that this offer has been extended until the end of January, 2007...so "Buy New"!!!....mikey357
  23. ...many years ago, I had my 12 gauge 1100 "Skeet B" ported...went from "B" Class to "AAA" in ONE YEAR...no, it wasn't ALL the porting, but it DID help...YMMV....mikey357
  24. ...might be a Simmons single-barrel conversion...could also be a Stan Baker job, as he did those for a while, and you ARE in the PacNorthwest, where he was...there also was an outfit in Canada, of all places, that did the single-barrel conversions on over-unders for a while...can't remember their name...a friend HAD one, but I doubt he'd appreciate a phone call at THIS hour!!!....mikey357
  25. STEEL Saturday??? Where???...oh, wait...what about "The Thread"?!?!....SOMEBODY fill me in!!!....mikey357 P.S.--STILL have the pics of Cliff W. shooting a...a...a Ruger MKII!!!...anybody interested?!?!
