  1. Well the nickel mags are about $20 more expensive than the AFC. So, there's $60. Not sure where the other $40 comes from or how the poly is not more expense for the reason listed above? I paid more for mine too. Oh well. I wanted "now". Ha ha.
  2. My grips on my poly are in the box as well. The poly coats are nitride under the poly. I wonder what it'll look like after a lot of holstering? oh yeah. I forgot about the nickel plated mags!
  3. Everyone wants the nitride for the blue grips?
  4. My S2 was around 8lbs 8oz DA and 3lbs 6oz SA. I put an 11.5 # HS in it last night and it was below 6lbs DA and SA was about 4 oz lighter. I'm probably gonna go with a 13# HS. Just for the most reliable ignition. Trigger is pretty dang good stock.

    Shadow 2 Legal Date

Now that I got mine I want to know when it's gonna be legal. Sounds like there is a lot in the country! Surely it won't be long............?
  6. ^^^^yes! I think a stiffer penalty for misses and no shoots wouldn't have been a bad change.

    Got mine!.....

Gotcha. Yes. This one seems to have more than my other S1's do.

    Got mine!.....

Not sure how to answer that. In SA there is take up to get to the break point or the wall (as I call it). Then the break is short and crisp on this gun. I've shot other shadow 1's that had a lot of sear movement or creep before the hammer fell. This S2 doesn't have that. I prefer the crisp break with no creep. I think the more crisp the less chance for an early break. Though, if you got a supper light break it can still go off too early if you're not careful. So, if you got two identical guns and they break at the same pull weight (e.g. 3.5#) but one has more creep, I think that one would be more likely to go early. Its kinda like it rolls instead of breaks. Not sure if I described that very well?

    Got mine!.....

I've read that on some guns the SA has some creep but I seriously can't feel it on my S2. I've felt a lot of creep on other shadows but this S2 is pretty crisp. There's more intital take up until you get to the wall but the break is short and crisp. Maybe it's just the one I got. The only thing I'm not really digging so far is the new slide profile and cocking serrations. In combination I find it more difficult to rack the slide. Maybe a 11# recoil spring will help. Right now I'm thinking clearing a malfunction would be a pain! The mag button is sweet! I just took a peak inside with the slide off but I'm digging the little tab on the inside that separates the mag release spring and doesn't allow it to go in too far and hang up a mag. Looks like there's no more need to bend it.

I got a call about one of those today. Trying to decide if I need two. Uh,.... yeah!

It's not that heavy!....... yeah right! Trigger isn't bad at all. DA is 8 lb 6 oz. While a little heavier than you'd want, it's not bad because of how smooth it is. The pull does feel a tad longer than either of my other shadows but is smooth! SA is a crisp 3 lb 3 oz. I'm not getting creep in SA at all. It's actually better than either of my Shadow Orange or Accu Shadow. Reset is the shortest I've felt on any Shadow. Grip feels like my Tanfo. I'm gonna put some VZ diamond back palm swells on it. Not a fan of thin grips. I was shooting to the left but think it may have been my grip since I'm used to thicker grips. For me, all I may do is put a different hammer spring in it. Try to get the DA around 6.5 lbs. Other than that I really think this gun is ready out of the box.
  12. Get the idea of a new gun out of your head! Never think about it again! ha ha. Kidding. Kinda. Seriously, I've got it bad. I started with a glock 34. Now I shoot a CZ shadow. Have two shadow 1's. Have one shadow 2 (picking it up tonight) may have anoter shadow 2 on the way. I have $1000 in mags alone for my CZ's because I need (don't really need) the nickel plated ones and need SP base pads. I've shot a tanfo lim pro. Shot a wilson beretta. And the g34. I did make Master in both sports with my shadow but I still have some kind of hiccup every once and a while with it. Either I short stroke he trigger or accidentally activate the thumb safety. That means I need to train more to avoid those two common problems. I wouldn't have either of those problems with my G34. Incould spend the same time training on another skill like translations rather than making sure I'm not accidentally activating the thumb safety! Ask Memphis, every other week I text him telling him I'm gonna go back to the G34. So, after saying all this. My advice is to forget about a new gun. Take the money for the newer 2X more expensive gun, mags, holster, pouches and buy a reloader if you don't already have one. Then with the $500 you'll still have left, yes even after buying a Dillon 650, go get some training from a professional. You'll be a better shooter and will have more money left over for matches! Then,....if you still want a different gun a year or two from now, then find a friend and try theirs. If you just have to change something, you might try new sights and trigger kit for the G34. Maybe $200 worth of stuff total.

    Shadow 2

I'm picking up my poly shadow 2 in a few hours. Then got a call about about a nitride one with the pretty blue grips. So I need two? I already got two shadow 1's. Ha ha. Man, I got a problem!
  14. Does that get a penalty for each round fired after 11 (first mag) or 10 (for reloaded mags)? Or does it bump you into Limited/open?
  15. I've shot a couple of monthly matches under the 2017 rules. Not one time time have they used sticks. Sometimes they didn't use anything. All the other times they just painted. Which, seems like it's the least definitive way to call/know for sure since the painted lines are never straight and are not uniform along the edges. I would love to see sticks like that other game uses but I known those are a pain to put down. One club used a combination of barrels and painted lines. We were told that the little void shaped like a V where two barrels were together did not exist and you would be faulting if you had your foot in there. I prefer the old scoring. The new scoring does slow it down, call for more make ups and dumping of extra rounds. But my goal is to be faster than Vogel and more accurate so, I just need to improve. How else am I gonna beat him?!
  16. I asked IDPA. It's legal. If you want to shoot one in a match, I'd be proactive and simply send an email to your MD and/or AC beforehand. If their position is it's not allowed, I'd ask them to contact IDPA and verify. That should solve any issues. It's my understanding that emails will not be viewed as an official ruling so they will not be given. I was talking to them in person and I asked.
  17. Yup! Even did it with my CZ's too! I like the curved trigger.
  18. I prefer the old scoring. It does seem to make you go a little slower (for me at least) to ensure you get good hits. Though, the goal is to be fast and accurate so, I'll just need to practice more! I'm seeing painted lines everywhere I'm shooting. Wish they'd use stick but understand those take more time. It's gonna take some time to for all the "bugs" to get worked out. I like the reload in the open if the targets have been engaged.
  19. I feel like TG is accurate too! I also don't see how one powder can be more accurate either.

    ESP legal?

It's leagal. It's the same as a glock 34. End of discussion. On another note, the Accu Shadow is also now legal (ESP).
  21. Prima V takes a while (around 100 throws) to get settled in the hopper and start throwing consistent charges. Also every load session I do about 5-10 throws before I load an actual case.
  22. I've never had to replace one but did buy a back up slide stop. They don't need to be fittted do they? I know you can file them done to load longer bullets but other than than that they just pop in and go, right?
  23. I'm loading to 3.4 now. Haven't chronoed yet. 3.3 gr got me enough but I want a little more.
