  1. My dirty, slide glide lubed, accushadow was choking up the other day. It wasnt too cold, about 45, but I think it was just cold enough to matter? I took the slide off put some oil on the rails and no more problems. Though, it could been dirty grease = sludge that gunk's up moving parts. I think slide glide has a different (thicker) consistency than moly grease. I like it better but not if I gotta clean my guns every 300 rnds. I think I had about 2k or so when this happens.
  2. I also think you can only get an accurate feel of how the trigger will be with a snap cap and a mag loaded with dummy rounds (when dry firing).
  3. I've went back and forth switching connectors, stirkers and springs to chase that magical trigger pull. Getting started with 1911's I wanted crisp. My G34 currently has a combo for more of a rolling break. I've convinced myself that Glocks with any type of wall have extra slide movement do to the trigger bar/striker engagement and profile of the connector. With a connector that gives a more rolling break I think you get less movement of the slide upward and backwards. Which really matters most when doing a slow squeeze type trigger pull. Doesn't seem to matter as much when you do a good quick pull straight back. I don't know if anyone else noticed the movement or not? At least in my mind thats how it seems.
  4. It's because of the connector angles are different and that has an affect on how the trigger bar drops down and resets. I also had no idea about the dangers of dry firing without a snap cap until I broke stuff. Glocks website even says to use snap caps for dry firing.
  5. Glock should replace at no charge. Also, you should not dry fire a Glock without a snap cap. I've done it for years but it's eventually gonna break the striker or the breach face could crack.
  6. I sold mine as well. Not worth the price. The trigger pull wasn't the same. Depending on the trigger setup it would work in some of my guns but not in others. Also, it couldn't keep up with my trigger speed. Sometimes wouldn't reset fast enough.
  7. I clean my guns fairly regularly. Probably around 500-800 rnds. I think a clean Glock will have a better trigger pull and a less fowled barrel. So, I think they'll be more accurate. Every once and a while I'll try to see how long I can go without cleaning but it didn't last long. I was on about 2k rounds with my accushadow and it started to hang up and not go to battery so I cleaned it. I wonder though, if that wasn't do to me using a different lube? Enos' slide glide. But for Glocks I definitely think you'll get a cleaner trigger pull with a clean gun.
  8. Ha ha. No. Just shot it about 5k rounds.
  9. I keep seeing tanfo fans saying that the cz has inerior metal. To my eye the tanfos look to have the "pot" metal. Either gun is gonna be great.
  10. At the moment any S2 that you'd probably be able to get is gonna have the poly coat over nitride. The nitride only one are pretty scarce in the US at the moment. Only 75 were imported in from what I've heard.

    Shadow 2 Undercut

I was comparing them last night. I was trying to see if the undercut and trigger shape let you get a higher grip. So, I was focused on that but I didn’t notice it being sharper on the S2.
  12. Things to work on this winter Lose 60 lbs Transitions Looking to spot. Not brown! Drive gun! Don't look for holes! Leading with eyes! Use legs Don't over aim Using appropriate sight picture for each target Aiming at center of steel Using appropriate trigger control for each target. Movements Coming in softer in the last few steps. Use knees. Smaller steps. Not overcharging. See above! Gun up and ready to aim! Not popping up on arriving. Set up to explode out without drop stepping (unless necessary) Starting in a position that allows for the most efficient movement. As much as the WSB allows. Hips and shoulders in the direction you want to go. Running lower (shoulders stay the same elevation when running) Calling shots Where the front sight was when it started to lift. Not where it was when I made the decision to pull the trigger!
  13. Good. I don’t need one. I’ll stick with CZ........ this week! I’d probably like the Stock 2 more anyways.
  14. I’ve got a friend that’s got a S2 in .40 for sale. I’ve shot it. Tack driver.
  15. Crap! I shouldn’t have clicked on this thread!
  16. Another thing on my list to work on over this winter! I was watching Ben Stoeger shoot nats and talk about reloading fast. Really efficient in getting the mag out of the pouch and moving at the same time and supper fast. Then getting it in the gun.
  17. In recent practice I’ve focused on transitions and definitely agree. The legs do it faster than just turning/rotating at the waist.
  18. I switched back and forth between glock, tanfo, and cz probbly 10 times this year. No joke. The trigger is the least of the issues, for me at least. Saying that, I'd ask if you're prone to accidental discharges with light triggers? The SA could be pretty light. If that's not an issue I'd say get one. It's different but a few weeks and you'll be used to it.
  19. I just got a shottmaxx2 from gift bag at area4. Used it for the first time today. So far looks pretty sweet. It has a spy mode that starts on you movement. You can use it to get all your times when actually shooting a stage, rather than ask the RO for the timer. It was only. 01 off. I think I'm gonna like it. Looking forward to using it during matches as well as running stage like practice. I also have the packet pro 2 and it's been great.

    Reload question

I think it's more gun fighting practical to reload an empty mag with one in the chamber rather than fire that last round and then have to slide lock reload. I understand the speed load not being real world (kinda) in the sense that most folks carry no spare ammo and when they do, they carry only one extra mag. So, using all the ammo and not leaving 4 rounds behind in a discarded mag does make some practical sense. At least to me. Now, saying that,.... IDPA talks out both sides of their mouths when it comes to rules that have foundation in the realm practical self defense. You would never see the founders of IDPA who teach classes on self defense still to this day, teach or advise to take shots on hostage takers. How many scenarios do you see at IDPA matches like this? A lot. So,... That's dumb! Think about this, If the shooter stows an empty mag but has a round in the chamber, there is no PE! How stupid is that! How real world is that? Wasting time to stow an empty mag, when you should be going for a fully loaded mag! Don't get me started on shoot me first vest! Or why you can't go bullets out! Why? You're wearing a shoot me first vest! Saying all that, I belive that IDPA does it to be different than USPSA. Which makes some sense because if it's not different then why have it. If folks want to shoot IDPA they just need to follow the rules and not try to understand them. Just have fun. It is fun to shoot.
  21. Well, we all know how much tanfos can vary from one to to another. Maybe this one didn't get as much hc applied as it should have.
  22. I shot with a guy last weekend who's S2 was rusting pretty bad.
  23. Great point! Agree 100%. I knew I was off balance when seeing it on the video but thought because of the far left target it was acceptable but you make an excellent point. Thanks
