  1. Links still doesn't work. I actually tried to search before starting a thread. Now, I get a free pass to beat a dead horse!
  2. Good points! I'm an M class in Production and Limited and my 2 lb trigger in my 2011 can be dangerous. You have to be sure to not get your finger on it too early in the draw. I was used to the first pull in DA, then when I switched to my 2011 I had a couple of dry fire ND's. You have to make sure you don't get your finger on that trigger while the gun is pointed down. Very scary! A good drill is to draw with a sight pic only. Don't pull the trigger. People rush the trigger pull in dry fire and don't know where gun was actually pointed. They just try to beat the buzzer. Set a part time and draw for sight pic only. This will expose potential flaws in trigger finger and lite triggers. What scares me even more is the mecahical reliability of these after martket triggers.
  3. Ain't that the truth!
  4. and these now "production" legal mods won't make any difference in score. bolt ons won't ever trump skill.
  5. I too understand why they say they did it. I don't think their solution is the correct response to the issues they're using as reasoning. I also understand that it's easy for folks not involved in the operations side of any group/organization to criticize the decisions a governing body makes. Saying that, I personally feel they've moved even further from what production is supposed to be. From what I've heard(or remember) this is due to things like aftermarket hammers being difficult to distinguish from OEM, or a CZ shadow going to CZC and getting fit for the accushadow bushing and now being illegal since it didn't come from CZC before its first private transfer. As well as the issues with the new guns being made with more "advances" that make them more advantageous than guns that have been around for longer. Well,…. I think they took the lazy way out! Aftermarket hammers being to similar to OEM. Let the shooters self-police (along with equip check). A shooter worried that someone will see this hammer, trigger, or whatever external mod, and could inform equipment check, would deter a lot of would be rule breakers. You're never gonna catch everyone but let's be honest, most folks that would try to sneak in a mod, aren't going to win anyways! As for the sending gun back to custom shops for mods. First I'd ask if a gun that didn't leave the actual manufacturer with a mod but gets modded at a custom shop should even be legal to start with? Then, I'd say if it's a legal mod, then who cares when it was done? And for the "newer guns have more advances making them more competitive" argument. That's on the shooter who chose that gun! Though, it's not even a valid argument. Aren't we tired of hearing about the shooters who've won with Glocks? I know these aren't the only reasons why they say they need to make these changes but I feel they are the main ones? This will be my second year shooting USPSA so maybe I'm way off on my understanding of the intent of what production is supposed to be?
  6. Not sure why so many people agree with the new rules?
  7. Ok. I don't know what I was doing the other day when I had this problem some how? Just wondering.
  8. Everyone I've heard from that's taken the class have all said it's great! I'm hosting one in late April in NW Arkansas. Very excited. Got 1 spot left.
  9. I've got a question about the casefeed plunger with .40 S&W cases. I've got the Med plunger installed. With a .40 case in the plunger mouth at station 1, isn't the plunger supposed to be able to go all the way back into the frame? On my press it won't. The .40 case that's next in line (sitting on top of the plunger) is preventing that. The 40 case is taller than the Med plunger, so the part of the case sticking above the top of the plunger gets caught on the .40 case that's next in line when the plunger goes back in the frame (with a case in the plunger mouth). The 9mm is shorter than the small plunger so the 9mm case doesn't stick above the plunger so when the plunger goes back the 9mm case in the plunger mouth goes under the case next in line that's sitting on top. Am I missing something? I have the med plunger installed for .40 and the green case feed apapter too. Every time I start a new session I'll have to remove the case from the plunger mouth or it goes back in and gets bent from the case next in line. Is this just something you have to deal with for .40? I noticed the .45 or 9mm doesn't do this. Thanks
  10. This will be my first Nats if I get a spot. Between the 6 classifier stages and not being able to walk the stages the day before, I'm trying to decide if I want to go or not.
  11. I just got my Salomon wides in. I think they're gonna don't trick.
  12. You should pick Stoegers skills and drills book. If you don't have it already. It has GM times for a lot of things. IIRC, 1.2 sec is about the GM time for what your asking at 10yds. Though, he does say that each drill can be done even faster. But it gives you a benchmark.
  13. Swage rod removed or still installed?
  14. I just ordered a pair. I too have a 11.5 4e foot. Ao, we'll see. Hope they fit.
  15. The MBF powder funnel for belling, and all other stations like normal?
  16. Yeah. This makes sense. To be honest, I only bought the 1050 because I got tired of squishing primers. I had tendonitis really bad last year so I bought the mark 7. I'm glad I got it but I probably wouldn't have if I didn't have jacked up tennis elbow. There is about a $500-600 difference. I was thinking it was more like $200. The 650 does great.
  17. Sell your 650. Buy a 1050 then get a mark 7. I've loaded over 20k with Mark 7. I've loaded about 5k on my 650 without mark 7. I've had more issues with the 650 than I have with the automated 1050. Case feed on 650 can be a pain. No swaging. No primer depth adjustment on the 650. 1050 is worth the extra $$
  18. The same topic gets brought up at every meeting for my local club. Last night was our Feb meeting and of course it got brought up, and like Cha-Lee's club, we never leave with anything that gets implemented. So, I'm curious what other clubs do as well.
  19. Thanks @Sarge. I meant is the activator the same. I called Dillon and they said for 9 and 40 it is.
  20. Thanks. Is the expander universal between calibers?
  21. It was off my 1050. I use the MBF funnel now. I guess station 2 does something on the 1050 and the activator is used vs the normal funnel that is used for the 550/650.
