  1. I've never shot this one. This one does not seem to favor Limited. Almost 2pt HF difference between lim/prod. Congrats on the good run.
  2. It means you buy the floating pin for the canik gun and not the one for the CZ. The CZ pin is smaller in diameter (if memory is correct). The canik pin will work in a Tanfo.
  3. I've got a like 24 I'll sell you. ?
  4. Wahts the overall weight of the Nemiss? Is it any heavier than the Titan?
  5. I got all y'all beat on switching back and forth. Glocks are totally adequate and then some! For me, the only issue is the mags hang up on me. It has to be my fault but I just don't have that issue with any other gun. I will probably switch back to production next year. I doubt I'll be shooting a Glock though. Gonna be a Tanfo or CZ.
  6. @CHA-LEE have you loaded a lot of this powder? Have you noticed any differences when using different batches? Last year different batches of Prima V did have different fps with the same powder charge weights. Wondering if that was/is a thing with SV. Thanks,
  7. I was at 1.185" with the Xtreme bullets. The blues have a longer OAL so they extend further even though the base of the bullet is roughly in the same spot inside the case as the Xtreme. The blues feed 100% so far even at the longer OAL. So, I didn't feel the need to shorten them up. I'm also getting roughly the same fps with the coated and plated with the 8% increase for plated. So, to me everything seems legit.
  8. Any tips or suggestions? Uh. Yeah..... Start practicing. ....and......... switch to major! You're alwasy going to be at a disadvantage to equally skilled shooters who are not dumb and are shooting major! Seriously though, I think you hit on some things in your OP. Seems like you gotta a good idea of where to start. If you don't have a book from Stoeger or form one of the other writers, you should pick one up. Tons of good info! You really should switch to major as soon as you can.
  9. I too feel the tanfo is easier. Once you get to where you can get the hammer strut and spring compressed. That's the most difficult part for me at least. Once you get it down, it's easy. I think the tanfo internals are the better design.
  10. Yes. I agree. I'm switching to coated because I felt I'd need to bump it up to 4.6-4.7 gr. I'm nervous that's getting close to too much pressure. Not that I saw any signs of it. With coted I'm gonna go to 4.3 and that'll be good. I'd also pay attention to which batch you have. I know last year there were some changes and different batches resluted in different fps with the same charge.

  13. The extreme model is an IPSC legal factory gun. It's not worth the extra money to most since they can tweak a non extreme Tanfo to be better. Is it competitive with the Shadow 2. Yes. The shadow Orange isn't worth the money IMO. I've had all of them.
  14. Thanks for the input. We did have a good squad. Mostly? Yeah, the prone stage and the one whith the stomp box both got me because of how I shot/planned them.
  15. I've been thinking about the match this last weekend and my post yesterday where I dissected my performance (as best I can with the knowledge I have at this point). I also listened to a podcast with Cha-lee. He said something that really stuck out. He used the term baby GM's. Which are folks who have reached 95% classification but when they show up to majors they don't finish at 95%. I didn't take that to mean paper GM. I took it to mean that they did make GM, not necessarily by grandbagging, and are baby GM's. Meaning the work has just begun. There's still another level or two before they're Supet Squad level. I'm probably not describing it correctly or maybe not even understanding what he meant but what I took from it was what I've said above. It's taken some self imposed pressure off me. I've got to realize or remember that I'm still new. I want to be preforming at the same as guys who've been GM level for twice as long as I've been shooting USPSA. I think because I made M as my initial classification, I've gotten this delusional since of well, shit it's been a year so I should be GM by now! Which is kinda dumb now that I think about it. Especially, since I've not put in the practice time like the folks I'm comparing myself too. So, I need cut myself some slack amd realize it's ok that I'm not top 16 at nats my second year shooting USPSA.
  16. In the situations I'm talking about they both would be needed or at least the one for the hole. Both times they used the edge for the perf and said the grease ring doesn't touch.
  17. Ain't that the truth! I've seen two different RO's at level 2 mtaches not overlay a target correctly. I've only shot 4 level 2+ matches. So,..... Last week he only used 1 overlay as the edge for the perf. I was like dude you gotta use the other overlay for the hole. SMH! Hell, I seen someone who's CRO certified not know how to use overlays. He asked me to show him how! He then told me he never learned that in the RO or CRO class. The guys holding the timmers are just like everyone else and will get a call wrong from time to time. OP, somds like a good learning experience. Thanks for sharing.
  18. That design of the lifter spring is crude IMO. Too bad the stuck with that on the S2. I mean I get it. It gets the job done and the same parts can be used between guns. I prefer the tanfo trigger/fire control parts over the CZ set up. Not that anyone cares or asked what I think. Ha ha. So let me contribute something to help the OP. OP, a trick I use is to take the grips off and trun the gun upside down. You can look thru the frame and see the spring and the channels. You can see if the spring is ridding in the channels as well as apply lube. I use a small paint brush to apply grease in the channels.
  19. When you get a chance, please look at the batch no on the bottle of powder and let us know. Thanks.
  20. Batch number? Also, are BBI .401"?

    Trigger freeze?

I call what you're doing short stroking. Other may call it freeze. I like short stroking because I don't let it out far enough to reset. It happens to me on my 2011 with the most amazing trigger and reset. Most of the time it happens when someone is trying to get 2 shots off with 1 sight pic. At least for me that's when it happened mostly. I don't do that really anymore since I try to get a sight pic for each shot. No matter how close the target is. I'd also say it happens when your overly tense. So, relax and try to get a sight pic for each shot and see if that helps. You can still bang out .13 splits and get a sight pic so, don't worry about it slowing you down. I'd also say some guns require more let.out to reset so, you gotta get that finger out and or off it further depending on the gun. Just my $0.02.
  22. Can't say I disagree with any of this! Thanks for the input! I'll admit, I'm probably a little too hung up on my classification.
  23. and now, deep thoughts……… I shot Ok Sectional this past weekend. This was my 4th match above the club level. My first level 2+ shooting Limited. I shot 91% of the points. I excluded the 4 NPM from the equation. Nobody went for them. Not even Max Michelle. I was 20 sec slower overall compared to the Div Champ (who shot almost identical pts %) Overall I am not happy with my performance! I don't feel I shot any stage great. Or to my level of skill. issues I can't look back and say I moved as fast as possible or maximum effort when moving from position to position. I wouldn't say I was supper slow but I probably had a little more in the tank to push. Transitions are something I need to improve on! I did not transition or lead with my eyes like I learned from Stoeger's class. I did it like I was doing before. I think I also had some kind of pre-programed metronome for when to fire each shot. I know I wasn't using the sights for when to pull the trigger. It's not that every shot was the same split regardless of how difficult the target was, I just KNOW I didn't see the front sight lift and return like I should have. It was more like the nose on my face. It's there but my brain has programmed itself to not see it! This is so WRONG! I over ran a position on one stage because I didn't look down at the spot while moving to it. I bet that cost me 2 secs. I tried to fight it and make it work but eventually had to get rebalanced. At least I knew not to just shoot and hope for the best. One of the targets had a NS and probably would have gotten hit. I need to break the habit of looking at the target as my reference for when to stop. At least until it's time to look up at the target. Meaning, use the spot on the ground as reference until you've gotten close enough that I'll be able to make that spot and can then get eyes and gun up out to the target. There were several times I could have been shooting earlier when coming into position but for some reason I probably set up a little too hard or "perfect". I think I was a little scared of dropping points or not being able to steady the gun enough. Also, think my mindset was, "I got to get here anyways to shoot the rest of the targets at this position so just shooting on the way in and not completely settled isn't the way to do it" Which is stupid now that I think about it because I could have been moving/transitioning to the next target while still finishing up on the "set up". There were several instances where this would have shaved a tenth here and there. To piggy back of the issue above, I don't think I shot any target while moving out of position. At least not in the correct way. I set up on most arrays so that I would swing in the direction of the next position/movement. So, outside/in, then move toward the center of the stage. Instead of shooting inside/out, while backing/moving out then having to swing further to get back towards the center of the stage. I noticed this was something I got from some of the other shooters and I did it too. I normally would have done it the opposite. Obviously, this is one of those things that will depend on each stage or situation, but I did do it mostly the opposite of how I would have if I wouldn't followed what everyone else was doing. It made sense in theory and I'm not even saying it was wrong but it's something to note. The "theory" was not swinging back and forth but swinging in one continuous direction. It was something new for me. Not sure I'll do it that way in the future unless I really feel it helps. Another thing that's on my mind is squading with your direct competition. I shot with two others that both ended up beating me by 1 and 2 points. Both are equally skilled but both are classified a level below. Though, that really doesn't matter and does not make me mad. Now, I will be honest and say that in my mind, I believe that it was the unspoken thought that I was the heat in the squad prior to the match. Did that have any affect on my performance or cause any self imposed mental pressure? I'm not sure. Everyone on my squad was awesome, except for one person! We all discussed plans and thoughts after a run. Nobody held back any information because they didn't want the other guy to beat them. Which is cool in my opinion! I like squading with people above my skill. I feel it helps but I'm not sure how to feel about squading with folks I'm neck and neck with? It's probably best to just accept it and not even think about it since you're really never going to be able to completely control who you squad with. I know I didn't use my sights for 2 of my 3 mikes. The other M was because I was moving out of position when firing the last shot. As I left, I knew it didn't feel right. Which really pisses me off because during my walk thru, I freaking told myself make sure and get that last sight pic/call that shot/see the sight lift on the target before starting the run to the next position but I didn't do it! The last M of the day, while still a result of no sight pic, doesn't bother me as bad. It was on a fast swinger that was activated off a plate/stand under the weight. So, it activated immediately and I just popped off 3 rounds in the general area of the dwell (tried to ambush it). The problem with that is, I didn't get a sight pic, and popping off extra rounds in the spray and pray sense, really means just 3 pulls without aiming. It was a difficult target (classic) at about 12 yds (guessing from memory). The other part that pisses me off was I swung back to it after finishing on the other targets but didn't take any more shots because I gambled I had at least two on paper. I only had 1 delta and it was on the perf of the bottom left of the D line. So, I almost had 2 mikes on that one! I either make up A's or close C's or don't make up M's. Which, makes feel like a dumb ass just knowing! postive things to take away I did plan for more in my walkthroughs. I did make note of this is a difficult target and requires more of a sight pic. I did try to make myself look for stage markers too. For the most part my stage plans were good. I watched the div winner who beat me by a large margin, and for the most part the plans for each stage were similar. The differences were he took more targets in between activators. He also, did everything quicker (transitions/splits, max effort moving), sooner (in and out), and probably a tad more efficient. now, the million dollar question…….. What do I want? What are my goals? Do I want to improve/reach the level of the HOA and beyond? Am I willing to do what that will take to acheave? Do I just want to have fun and stay at the level I'm at currently? Will I be content with that?
