  1. It's all because the sight is couple inches above the bore. If you put the muzzle of the gun against the target, and looked thru the scope, your crosshairs would be 1 1/2" - 2 1/2" higher than the muzzle. It all comes together after 10 - 20 yards, but at real close distance, you have to aim high to get the bullet to hit the target
  2. Aw, come on ... you'll probably get thumped anyway
  3. Great "starting step", but as we age, many of us are unable to absorb Vit B12 thru the digestive tract (even a multi vitamin). Really need sublingual (dissolve under the tongue, and go straight into the blood stream, bypassing the digestive tract).
  4. You won't have to hoard ammo for another 3 years, at least
  5. Yes, and at sub-125PF loads, it is a real pleasure to shoot
  6. You're WAY ahead of me .... I don't have any goals, or any practice. BUT, I LOVE shooting.
  7. When I first got started shooting OPEN, with a much lighter trigger than I was used to, on two separate occasions I came into a shooting position and as I was bringing the gun to bear on the first target, an unintended early shot that didn't miss by too much (not over the berm or hit the ground). On both occasions, the RO gave me a warning after the stage was completed. Hasn't happened in ten years .... gotta watch those light triggers.
  8. That was The Best SuperBowl I've watched in 50 years ... You guys missed a good one.
  9. I tried 124 grain JHP's with 3 gr and got a Very Light load - about PF110 or so. I use them for plinking and introducing new shooters to center fire shooting. At 12 yards, they seem accurate and have very little noise/recoil. If you want to make minor PF, I don't have any data on that.
  10. I lived in NY until three years ago, and used to shoot at five different USPSA matches at different ranges, on occasion. When the new 10-round mag law came in, I received notice from two different ranges that any mag that held more than 10 rounds was NOT welcome at the range. Don't know if that has changed in the past three years.
  11. I've seen better prices ...
  12. 1. Thank God (and the Moderators) 2. No, thanks. Hope you don't freeze your butt to the potty seat.
  13. My TruBor will run factory ammo IFF the gun is Very Clean and running wet.
  14. That story has all the elements of a Greek tragedy .... cool spring morning, face white as a sheet, electrified fence and banjo bridges. The four basic elements of a Great Tragic Story. You've made my eyes tear ....
  15. That's because they don't moderate discussion forums (fori?) ....
  16. He didn't have to .... I turned myself in and threw myself on the mercy of the RO .... My sentence ? : I had to shoot one IDPA match ......
  17. Sorry, Tom, my fault for the confusion ... I shot only the one TruBor - started shooting factory Remington green box 115 gr ammo, which I knew I was going to shoot, so I declared Minor for the match. Some teammates noticed the dribble from the back end of the gun, and I started having too many FTF's, so I broke out some 9mm Major rounds I had just purchased, and started using the Major loads in the same gun. Since I had declared Minor, I didn't think about breaking any rules by switching to Major rounds - but got Much better ejection, and no more FTF's. This was about ten years ago - Hope this clarifies my earlier posting
  18. Darn, guess I should already be dead ....
  19. How big, heavy and experienced is your 13 year old son ? If he's big, strong and experienced, he might find the 124's "faster" and not mind the extra bounce of the 124's .... It's personal. You might want to try him with both. Very few people seem to prefer the 115's, from what I've observed.
  20. Yeah, it's the comp that I'd worry about, not the Barrel.
  21. I resent jokes about viscous dogs ....
  22. I'd start with the .223, since you can feed multiple rifles, and since you fire a lot more .223 ammo than .308 ammo
  23. Primers and powder are $5/100 - no cost for the bullets ?
