  1. Now that I'm 73 years old, I'm ALWAYS in that State of Mind ....
  2. My TruBor will fit MG 124 gr JHP out to 1.175", as it came in from Brazos.
  3. Might be wrong (once in 1983), but sounds to me like you are actually left eye dominant. With both eyes open, bullets are going where your left eye is pointing, not your right eye. If you want to shoot both eyes open, sight the gun in with both eyes open ....
  4. If you're "hobbling from injuries", I wouldn't worry too much about "handicapping yourself shooting Limited Minor". Just go have fun ... enjoy
  5. If you have to, you have to ....
  6. Only 30 miles away - yeah !!! But, still nothing to do in Frostproof ....
  7. ^^^^^ Read Darrell's posting Very Carefully . ^^^ He knows the answer ....
  8. If you're going to do a lot of shooting, involving some travel especially, I wouldn't buy your next gun based on "a good deal". you're going to spend a LOT of $$$ this year shooting, loading and travelling - why not buy The Gun you like the most - even if it's a bit more $$$$.
  9. That's what I thought - and why I avoided it like the plague. To me, my firearms are tools ... NOT pieces of art.
  10. Don't mean to beat this to death, but I've been very happy with my TruBor - it was "gone over" by Brazos when I bought it, and I did have few things modified, and I understand that the modified TruBor is less expensive to make than a level II, III or IV. But, if I don't have either gun marked (can't be wearing a blindfold), what benefit would I derive from a level IV gun than my TruBor ? My TruBor has been Very Reliable (until it needs new springs), and is more accurate than I am. What actual benefit do I get from a Level IV gun ?
  11. My BHP showed some difference in accuracy, but I was forced to go with the OAL which fed 100%, at the expense of accuracy. Obviously, it was an acceptable trade off - not an unacceptable loss of accuracy.
  12. I've been shooting a TruBor (The Cheapest STI-type Open Gun) for more than a decade. Been wondering, if I spent double the amount of money for a true custom gun, what would actually work differently, assuming that my TruBor is 100% reliable (it is) ?
  13. What is the difference between 1. high end builder and CK ? 2. CK and STI ? Accuracy ? Dependability ? ???
  14. How did that work out for you ? Where are you, now ?
  15. Another plus for Brazos - I bought two TruBor's - one worked on by Brazos - loved it
  16. I've never been to an archery comp, but I'm guessing your don't have to draw from the holster or run with a loaded gun in your hand ... I stick with seeing one first ....
  17. Brazos wouldn't lighten the slide on my TruBor ....
  18. "Shot this ...." Lots of fun - excellent shooting (as usual) and a PUN, all at the same time. Marvelous way to begin the New Year
  19. I had three mags, numbered 1,2 and 3 Always started with #1 in the gun, and always reloaded to mag #2. Had a LOT of FTF's and it took quite a while to realize that it was always after the reload (not the first mag). Started with the #1 mag and reloaded to mag #3 - (Not #2) and the problem went away.
  20. No one agrees BUT, lots of great discussion on this topic in the archives. Check with Pat Kelley -
