  1. i should have jumped in sooner. i've have this really good friend, he had 5 bypasses, and a valve put in 2 years ago, almost to the day. he has been back shooting for a year now, and hasn't missed a beat (no pun intended), and he hasn't quit smoking either. go figure. lynn jones (Edited by lynn jones at 8:19 pm on Jan. 29, 2003)
  2. hi everyone, i'd like to know how your club handles the year end awards. what do you get for winning, whinning, setting up, scoring, etc? here in mempis, tn. we have to shoot a minmum of 8 matches a year (we shoot twice a month) to be eligible for a nice plaque. the stats keep up with the hit factor points. the best eight matches score. the main reason i want your opinons, is to get system to attract more shooter to the sport, in our neck of the woods. thanks for the input. lynn jones (Edited by lynn jones at 8:27 pm on Jan. 28, 2003)
  3. hi steve, good questions. i like to use my 170mm as much as possible (because it works). if there is a stage that requires lots of movement it really doesn't matter. one more piece of advice. i carry (4) mags at a minimum. good luck, lynn jones
  4. hey vince. a1) this sport is just different. it's fun, never the same and always a challenge. a2) there is not much to dislike, other than some people bit*hing and complaining. lynn jones

  9. slik40, i don't think you can get just the trigger and insert by themselves ( you can buy several different inserts though). the system does work. with the sv system and the keoing hammer combo, i can get a very smooth trigger pull. i don't know the poundage, but i 's say less than 1lb, with total reliablity. once you get the sv system installed, you can change inserts very easily. one more point, from experience, when you get the insert you like in the trigger, locktite it in. the insert is secured by the trigger stop. so, i guess you have to get the correct insert and the trigger stop positioned correctly before you locktite. sorry to ramble. lynn
  10. benny, please quit posting and get back to gunsmithing. i don't want you to go hungry and loose weight. now, chop chop back to work. lynn

  12. slik40, the sv trigger system is the way to go. the sti trigger can be swapped out easily. the sv system comes with a disconnetor, trigger, sear spring and you can specify length and style of the trigger insert. for a really good trigger pull and good looking addition, i would get a doug keoing hammer. i have this setup on all my 1911 type guns. good luck, lynn jones ps do a search, this topic has been discussed before your posting.
