  1. let's make a new division too: "major wimpy" can only be shot on saturday nights. lynn jones
  2. burger, i think the 3n38 will produce less compensator flash. lynn jones (Edited by lynn jones at 10:02 am on Nov. 30, 2002)
  3. joe, i think everyone that owns a 650 has the same problem. i have minimized my powder spillage by moving my steating die to the 3rd position instead of the 4th position(this is where the powder check die went. i didn't like this die and removed it.) i know have less powder spilling, and this keeps my machine a lot cleaner. the cleaner the machine the less hang up i have. good luck lynn jones L-843
  4. wayne, you mean you get nervous when you have to stand infront of a lot of people watching shoot a pistol? try to give a speech now and then, same type situation right? my advise: get comfortable with your subject matter, this case your shooting, by practicing dry firing and live firing in the nude on your front porch. do this technique about 5 days before your next match. you'll be sooo relaxed and shoot so well (if you put your clothes back on). your neighbors and the police may forgive you, but shooters never forget or forgive!! believe me on this matter. i still get nervous. just relax and have fun and in about 12 years of shooting you'd wish you could get nervous. dvc ya, lynn jones L-843 (Edited by lynn jones at 6:22 pm on Nov. 27, 2002)
  5. the sad thing is that's mostly true!! lynn jones
  6. when i used to shoot lead bullets, i made sure i had a really hard bullet. shooting lead in 38super at 175 pf i had to use a heavy bullet i.e. 135gr. the new 165pf you can probably use 125gr. i suggest you use a molly coated bullet less smoke, less lead build up, and easier to clean. practice on, lynn jones (Edited by lynn jones at 7:34 am on Nov. 26, 2002)
  7. gunner40sw ask dvc40jim about his grips.. hee, hee lynn
  8. alcornl, sti followers and dawson sti base pads.
  9. vince, i would have no problem telling the competitor to check his gun. there is no advantage or coaching in this example. the command is "load and make ready", this person did not finish making ready. if the mag falls out after the buzzer, i usually wait until the "holster command" to start laughing. lynn jones
  10. alcornl, when i used a para, the sti mags were the best. extra rounds and better reliablity. the dawson pads work great also. good luck lynn
  11. HAWKER, I DON'AT SHOOT MUCH REVOLVER, HOWEVER, I HAVE A S&W 610. I WILL BE GETTING A CLASSIFCATION SOON. ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT RULES WHEN SHOOTING A REVOLVER, IS TO KEEP IT CLEAN BETWEEN EACH STAGE. RUN BRUSHES THROUGH THE CHAMBERS AND BRUSH OUT THE BARREL AREA. SAFARILAND HOLSTER IS GOOD ONE. THE MOON CLIP CARRIERS SOLD BY DILLON ARE GREAT. HOUGE GRIP IS NICE TO HAVE. AND THE ED BROWN CYLINDER RELEASE IS A GOOD ADDITION. GOOD LUCK LYNN JONES
  12. pat, i bet your reloads are awful.. prick and prime! (that's cannon talk)
  13. chriss, what weight bullet are you using?
  14. hey vince, what would it take to get the u.s. version and the ipsc verisons combined into just one verson?
  15. will there be any restricition of bullet weight? i.e. ipsc 120gr min lynn (Edited by lynn jones at 10:34 am on Nov. 22, 2002)
  16. how do you really "feel" jim? lynn
  17. the passwords are in all the "front sight" magazines lynn
  18. when the uspsa starts using a ikonboard like this one, then ripped it out from under us, because some stupid people can't figure out how to use the new and better system. stupid, stupid people!!! lynn jones
  19. i posted this on the uspsa web page, before they changed back to the old format. i believe the gunsmith will be happy for all the new business. if i were just starting out i might consider using 9mm major (9x19). the idea of cheap drop and leave brass sounds good to me. lynn (what's next) jones
  20. now that 9mm major is legal, what's the point? is it just because you can leave the brass on the ground? do it perform better than 38 super? i think it will cause more problems than its worth. i need some insight. lynn (i'm sticking to 38 super) jones
  21. at time to hunt, stephen hunter
  22. i erik, i flew from memphis, tn to the a2dc this year as well. i had no trouble at all. (i few northwest) i put my shooters connection range bag in a big samsonite luggage suitecase. my guns were in a locked seperate case in the suitecase. easily opened for inspection. i would never check my shooting bag seperate, not safe enough. the samsonite is lockable and i put a strap on the outside. in other words, the samsonite is cover one more point.. the airlines are going to start limiting the weight of checked luggage to 50lbs. surcharging for overage. that means i have to carry another bag next year. good luck lynn jones (Edited by lynn jones at 11:17 am on Nov. 20, 2002)
  23. if the shooter stops during the course and tell you he lost his hearing protection, simple, RESHOOT. if the course of fire is completed, i would say NO reshoot. lynn jones
