    Red Vs. Blue

    erik, one word. MCJOB!
  6. davecutts, as long as the timer records the last shot, no reshoot. the time is correct and that's what your looking for. lynn
  7. keep up the practice. it sounds like you have a solid practice regiment. lynn
  8. smittyFL, one thing about the angle idea. first, you will need to use both sides of the plate. this wouldn't work if you angle one side. second, if the steel is perfectly flat and perpendicular splatter is reduced. the main issue with steel plate stands is that they should fall when hit and not turn sideways. lynn

  10. blake, i agree with TheItlianStalion. we should just put the timer on your holster, butt , whatever. it'll catch your last shot. but really, that problem rarely occurs, we ro's are fleet o'foot...not fleet o'shooting, the main problem would be around wall and such. lynn p.s. next time book you flight to phoenix earilier so you don't have to sit next to the toilet.
  11. hi all, an untaped target is not grounds for a reshoot. keep shooting, never stop. if you stop yourself, you get the mikes and procedurals. lynn here's the rules: 9.1.4.2 If scoring or penalty paper targets have not been patched or taped after a previous competitor’s attempt at the course of fire, and there are extra scoring or questionable penalty hits on one or more targets and it is not obvious to the Range Officer which hits were made by the immediate competitor, the Range Officer shall order the competitor to re-shoot the course of fire. US 9.1.4.2 It is the range officer’s responsibility to see that all targets are taped after each competitor. In the event that a target is missed and not taped, if more hits are on the target than required and they are all of the same caliber, only the highest scoring specified number of shots may be scored. When the hits are of different calibers, only the hits of the competitor’s caliber will be scored. If the competitor has a miss, and there are hits from a larger caliber on the target, then the benefit of doubt should go to the competitor and a reshoot issued.

  20. duane, I’m in the boat you are in. I had an injury playing soccer years ago. The main reason I started shoot ipsc by the way. I have a torn meniscus and missing my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). I had my knee scoped and the doc cleaned out the torn cartilage so it wouldn't move to a binding position causing real pain. I was back at work the next day. Back when I had my knee scoped, they didn't have the ACL fixes and cartilage transplants. I would definitely have it done now, if I were in your situation. I use the Glucosamine Chondroitin twice a day, also. I go to the gym and work out on the Stair Master. This is low impact and works the legs hard. I do not run anymore, just the stair master. A friend of mine is having knee trouble now and the ortho doc will be giving him an MRI next month after area 2. The doc told my friend to do water aerobics and resistance training. My advise is to do some sort of exercise. I wasn't that big on exercising back when I first injured my knee, now my right leg is smaller than my left (atrophied). good luck lynn ps that fixx guy died of a heart attack right?
