  1. TGO isn't slim and he does ok on the field courses Classifications are only a general guide. I think classification is mostly for those who care about the "prizes," or those who want to know where their skills rank throughout the sport and can't afford to make the bigger matches. For the second set it works pretty well, for the first set, well I don't want to comment on that. Even the top GM's don't 95%-100% every classifier they shoot, just look up TGO.
  2. Greg and James have been sandbagging so long it's in their blood I shot with them at my first big match in Washington a few years back when they were both "C" shooters, Max was the wunderkid (still a junior), and where you had to chop of Darth Mull's head to start a stage. Some of the fastest C class shooters ever to hit the class. I guess they would just rather be at the top of the class rather than clawing their way up the next one Besides, everyone knows the twins from Reno can't shoot worth #@*)(#* and for the Myth Busters dude, all he does is break cr@p. Is that enough motivation?
  3. Dry firing naked, eating bacon Merlin snuck a post in between my reply
  4. LOL After my cool guy mods it does Thanks for the correction Rich the sear, trigger bar and striker are the ones I'm looking for. It sort of looks like a hammer though Any leads on a good spring to use for the striker spring would be cool to, the 1911 firing pins I had on hand were to weak for reliable ignition, I have some heavier ones on the way I like this gun I hope it can handle being shot.
  5. I've got my new (sold the month old one already) XD and got the trigger job down pat. I could make up some semi drop-in trigger kits (hammer, trigger, firing pin) if I got the stuff I'm just not sure where to get them. The trigger is frickin' sweet. I'm still looking for some lighter springs for the trigger and hammer also.
  6. If you MUST use a fiber optic, smaller would be better IMO. You want to still be able to see the top of the blade and if your fiber is to big or bright you just can't see it easily, and that make calling shots hard. You don't need to track you sights, they are right in front of your face You can see the small ones fine.
  7. Send it to Virgil Tripp at Tripp Research and forget about it, anything else will have to be redone.
  8. The reason I shoot different guns is to shoot against better competition or because I feel like shooting a certain gun. After awhile of shooting the same gun I want different challenges. This next year I plan on shooting open and production mosty, the raw speed of open is a blast, and the accuracy of production to improve my game. If they get boring I'll switch to L or L10. I don't know that there is an advantage to shooting any division unless you are "under classified" in a division and want to try to loot a prize table somwhere. It's all about the fun and challenges
  9. Ditto, I had the exact same experience before I went with the Beta Mag.
  10. Broken RM's 1 - 55K Broken Tungsten - 3 Broken Aluminum/other - 2 Lesson, carry a spare one whatever you use.
  11. Nope, If I thought that I would have said that. I stated it exactly the way I meant it, it doesn't mean it's the right way for anyone else. My body know's what to do, I just have to let it do it If I think about anything it takes away from reacting to what I hear or see. If any "thoughts" enter my mind I suck. That is how I get in the zone, being in a near vegitative state when the buzzer goes off.
  12. You can't afford not to buy "the book" (BE's) and Saul Kisrch's drills book would be the next purchase for a new shooter. The book would be a much better investment than the equivalent cost of ammo.
  13. If I'm thinking, I'm stinking. I do best when I clear my mind of absolutely everything. You don't have time to think/feel about the things you listed, if you have to think it's too slow.
  14. I have a Sony Cybershot that works well enough to show you what you need to see, and since I'm on computers more than TV it is easy. As far as tuning my technique, I haven't made up my mind. I think it helped with the reload, but the biggest thing video has done for me is to help me trust my vision. The video looks sooo much faster than it feels.
  15. Is there any way to shoot the match on Saturday only? Having the Columbia Section and the Oregon Section on the same weekend SUCKS. If Dave really is coming I might just have to bring a production gun and shoot my first match in Production, it might just be too tempting.
  16. Accurate Speed Shooters "We're just a bunch of ASS's" Fast Accurate Adrenaline Junkies "We fly fast and low" Practical Pistol Practitioners "PPPlease let us shoot it."
  17. I think you should use slide glide
  18. Don't point at cars drying by if you are a passenger. Just a thought, but if you travel a lot and you have a common gun you might want to pick up an airsoft instead of the real thing. Something is better than nothing.
  19. How do they cater to GM's? I've never heard that one before. How do you cater to any class of shooter?
  20. I could, but that just wouldn't be fair and he'd still probably spank me It's a single stack match so I have this old .45 that I'm going try to use
  21. Ut oh, looks like Chuck will be the man to beat he shoots that Glock damn good Maybe I should ditch this skinny little .45 and bring an XD, those no recoil guns are fun
