  1. Because their old ones suck. Mags are very important to the functioning of a pistol.
  2. Limited 57 pts 5.01 sec =11.3772 HF Left to right both times, 1.35 draw 1.13 reload, nice and relaxed. I would love to do this 60 points exactly 5.0 seconds. If I shoot faster than that my hits go to hell. I think this is a good one for self controll, especially with the turning draw, that tends to get me amped up.
  3. "cause they all know they will do it fast enough
  4. I should have been more specific, on long range targets in stages with lots of points, low round count stages you need all the points
  5. The exception in my thinking is very small A's avaiable and really long range targets. The time for a perfect A versus a B/C can be very considerable on some targets, I don't want to get caught up on those shots if they aren't going to help the overall score. There is always a fudge factor, so if I fudge, I still want the shot to score
  6. Exactly my point for the reshoot It says nothing about the given situation in this rule. RO's don't let competitors activate the targets durting the walk through, they activate them (sometimes they let the first shooter do it,) and if the action was reasonable... reshoot ...
  7. ... if it was made clear in the walk through it had to be pulled a particular way, yes. If it was reasonable that the way it was pulled (going sideways) and it should activate the props, then it deserves a reshoot right?
  8. Definetly a Hero or Zero stage. 7.54 sec 57 points 7.54HF Limited
  9. I Progrip (sticky stuff) the back of my strong hand and my palms. Grip tape will help, because the meaty part of the weakhand does a lot of work holding "slick" Glocks.
  10. What about 60 pointers? But then you know you can't afford to drop points on those so you don't think about it?
  11. Re-shoot Rule 4.6 Range Equipment Failure If you don't get to yank on the rope to try it out first He probably had no idea it wouldn't activate it, don't penalize the shooter for a poor design. All respect to Tom but, it isn't the same as an activator box because this prop is not a common prop, anybody who's seen boxes know you better stomp it good The exception to this would be if the RO explained that pulling it straight back was the only way to activate it. Bottom line for me, if it's a "circus" stunt, design it to work. If it doesn't, be prepared for a long day of reshoots.
  12. To this end, for me I will decide which targets (partials most often, or long distance targets) that C's are "ok" during the walkthough, the rest I try to get A's. I don't do the it's ok to drop points for speed, until the buzzer goes off that is You can't really go fast enough to afford dropping lots of points if you want to win.
  13. Buy Brians book He has some good pictures.
  14. G17 - 9mm 22+1 is the house pistol, Sig p226 9mm the rest (what the local cops carry) ++p 9mm is a freaking wicked round Being a competitve shooter carrying what the local cops would be a good idea if I ever had to use it.
  15. I have ambi's but I take it off with the strong hand before the transfer.
  16. That's exactly why loaded mags stay in the bag/box until I'm the shooter "in the hole." I have 1 dedicated "empty" mag for at home and at the range
  17. You should check your mags at home to see if they drop free because that's where the files and dremel are If this were to happen to me I would ask them to show me the rule that says no mag handling in the safety area. That should keep them busy awhile
  18. I agree with Eric. 3-gun just for fun Master the pistol first, what you learn there will make you a better shooter anyway (no matter what you shoot), then learn to reload the shotgun (shooting it is easy), then learn to rifle shoot (someday, that's why I have a Beta mag)
  19. Buy the standard capacity mags and only put 10 rounds in them for now.
  20. $65 to have them replace the lense.
  21. Yea, that's what Brownells said. They said please make two orders next time, in the old days before the suneset of "the ban."
  22. But what about the "shock and awe" factor?
