  1. I just got a dvr and started watching the series a couple weeks ago, this show is like crack. Freakin' rocks.
  2. I thought the mag release is legal since the factory offers it (it should be since you can add one to a Glock ). If you have to replace the simple stuff (ie. striker I was told by SA that they will fix it, but you must ship it to them.)
  3. #1 They won't sell parts. #3 The Uncle mikes holster ($15) is as fast as anyone needs. #4 I have an extended mag release that I made, Rich at Canyon Creek makes one I believe. #5 I would go with the 5" for USPSA (I have both the 4" and 5") #6 The mags work well and have held up good.
  4. In IPSC you don't shoot the black targets. The problem I see with fiber optic sights is that most people look at the fiber and not the top of the sight, which is fine for closer targets, but causes problems when fine accuracy is required. Serrate the front sight and it is easy to see.
  5. Not really hard at all if done correctly. You can do it in slow mo also, once again if done correctly and it is extremely solid, repeatable and safe. I wouldn't claim any draw is really faster than another, because I can draw 3 ways that are all about the same, the same thing applies to reloads. Somethings just work better for different folks.
  6. #2, I haven't dropped my gun yet. You can use the thumb on the slide to secure it further while making room for the weekhand.
  7. A dremmel and felt pad the appropriate diameter for the chamber
  8. Only help I can offer is to recommend them trying a Springfield XD, SIG with the special short trigger, Tanfolio (or clone ie. CZ), or a small frame revolver. I've help a few people with smallish hands with similiar problems and different guns was a better solution than pulling the trigger with the weakhand.
  9. I've done the belly button first mag and IPSC (production style) and haven't noticed much of a difference in time. I think IPSC style (point of hip) is more versatile. If you have some extra girth, this can change where it is best to place your gear.
  10. I ordered 5 of the Tripp mags today, because everything else I've seen him make is top notch.
  11. If your wrist is not fully locked out you will not be able to take advantage of the strength that comes from fully locking out your wrist. It may feel weird but it works. Take your weak hand wrist and fully lock it out (forward.) Next, take you strong hand and try to lift your weak hand up. Now try the same thing with your weak hand not locked out. You will see it is MUCH harder (if not impossible) to lift the wrist if it is locked out.
  12. If you decide to go the Promag route, I have 4 tubes and Arredondo pad I'll sell cheap. I'm holding out for the new mags.
  13. Look at all the young kids suping up Honda's and Toyota's trying to make them like a "real" sports car. You can make any gun over 9mm an open gun, but you really have to ask yourself why. If it makes sense to you, then go for it, otherwise your just pissing your time and money away.
  14. The gun cycles fast .05 sec, so motion of the slide doesn't mess up you site picture much at all, but it does beat the hell out of the sight and slide mounted sights are generally smaller, that does matter.
  15. Reloads are easier than scoring minor on partials and movers.
  16. Nooooooo, please god nooooooo. Trust me it won't be as "cool" as you think it will be. Please keep stages about shooting, please. I've shot a ton of gadget stages, and only a few were worth it, the rest are just a pain for everyone.
  17. Truth is truth. Some of the harware stuff is dated, but other than that everything is spot on and relevant.
  18. Do a search and BE has posted it before. Off the top of my head I think BE's ritual is like my cleaning ritual. Just add lube when the slide slows down and break it down a couple of times a year. There really is no need to clean the bore.
  19. Mike has done wonders for shooting in the state! Chuck makes it out every now and again, he is promising to start shooting again once he get's his business moved and under control.
  20. I think they were pulling your leg I carry and use mine everyday, never really used one in a match.
  21. Try a search, there are lots of posts on this subject. It can been done, but it is better in the end to just get two guns IMO
  22. Rob has generously given our club space and it has been very reliable.
  23. I'm sure it would be cheaper and easier for the folks that put on the match to fly to Florida for a match than to do the work to put the match on. I'm not a 3-gunner, so I have no personal interest in having the match here, but I really respect the effort it takes to have a major match.
