Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Point well taken, after reading my rant I don't think I even made the point I started to make. I just don't like the "my sport is soooooo much superior to your sport" attitude. Oh get this one of the superior members told me he was going to report me for carrying a loaded gun in a holster under my shirt at the range. After I told him I have a permit to carry he said "oh your one of those people your permit isn't valid here". One of his buddies a few weeks earlier told me to keep my kids quiet ( my daughter just got her first bullseye and had yelled in happiness) I just don't get it
  2. Some times it is just amazing how some shooters put down other shooters. At my range you can't draw from a holster and "rapid fire" is considered uncontrolled fire and is not allowed. That makes for good practice. We have an active IPSC club and Cowboy action club but their rangges are off limits unless you are a member of their respective clubs. Our range membership is going up every year (160) + club fees for the IPSC club (50) + USPSA fees and match fees are just about making me think I can't afford it any more. Things are slowly changing though action shooters and cowboy shooters are slowly getting more spots on the board of directors so maybe things will get better. The club is mostly controlled by older long range and MOA rifle men who thing us pistol and 3 gun people give shooting a bad name. but as I said it is slowly changing. I have thought of driving father but I keep holding out hope. Well that became a rant I guess I could have just said +1
  3. I've been driving fire equipment in traffic for 20 years now and it's just amazing what people will do when they realize there is a fire truck behind them. Pull to the right. drive off the road, pull to the left, slam on the brakes, slow down, speed up to try to stay ahead...........it goes on and on. It really amazes me that we don't' have a lot more accidents considering the driving I've seen............God watches over fools...(I know because he watches over me)
  4. This is not amazing at all when you consider the history of CA. If you told us you had a CA CCW from an area near LA. that would be amazing . There are the "old" carry permit states where the CCW laws were written when the purpose was to limit those carrying to so-called responsible members of society, and "new" carry permit laws written based on public demand from citizens who wanted the ability to legally carry. In general, the newer the carry permit law, the more limitations have been added, in the form of "prohibited places", "ability of a business to post a legally binding sign", etc. States including CA, MA, CT, RI, and NY (NY state permits exclude NYC though) have very few limitations on where the permit is valid and no "sign posting" law (although the ability to get a permit in these states can depend on where you live and/or who you know), whereas states that have recently implemented "shall issue" carry permit systems such as TX, VA, AZ and FL have more limitations and conditions as they were born in the face of organized opposition and deal making. Someone moving to a pro-gun state such as TX, AZ or VA from the anti-gun meccas of NY or MA would have to get used to considerable additional restrictions on carry they did not experience before moving from the "anti gun" state to a "pro gun" state. One particularly interesting example of this is MI - when that state when from "may issue" (i.e., persons of privilege, power and influence only) to "shall issue", new restrictions and limitations were added - reducing the number of places that a MI carry permit covers within that state. Wow that was very interesting information More restrictions on issue = more places to carry less restrictions = less places to carry.........Is that a conundrum?

    Being broke

    And what's worse............it's always a good deal!!!!!
  6. Amazingly this is the law in Calif too. The Police will ask you to leave once before they cite and remove you in most cases.
  7. I also called yesterday the person I spoke to was polite and said it sounded like a problem in the box. They did not admit to a known problem but, he knew what I was talking about. Told me to send just the box in and they would fix it. I will ship later this week and let you know when it comes back and how it works.
  8. Arredondo brush followed by a rag if needed. Most of the time I only need to brush, I run my mags dry due to very dusty/sandy range conditions.
  9. I got the chance to give the timer a better work out today and think mine will have to go back. I tried the chrono today and got a error message about the screens triggering together. When I unplug one cable it tells me to fire the first shot and when I plug the cable back in I get the error message again. I was able to get one shot in with out error messages 2480 fps for a .22 lr. BE; should I just pack it up and send it back now or wait until more bugs are found. I didn't know I was going to be a Beta tester
  10. You were talking about a slide mounted optic. How would that work. would'nt the motion of the slide mess up your site picture more than a frame mounted optic? Good point on the aluminmun frame on the para I had'nt considered that the mounting of the optic might weaken the slide. Lots to think about
  11. I changed sides on rifle, bow, and shotgun but just can't do it with pistol. I am very right handed
  12. Since I live in the PRK right now I was wondering........Has anyone used one gun with two different slide/top end set ups to shoot both Limited and Open. I dont know if it would be worth it price wise but I want to shoot both classes. My other choices are to convert my Limited gun to Open and just shoot SS or Limited 10.???? Any ideas
