  1. Mike, You may be opening a can of worms you don't want to open. Every commissioned and non-commissioned officer in the military has aprehension authority. One could say we do patrol every day. We qualify. The military doesn't use the term "arrest," "apprehension" is the proper term. Liota
  2. pmd, If you decide to move, Texas has plenty of room and great gun laws. We'd welcome you. If not, vote your beliefs and what's good for you and your community. Ann Richards, former governor of Texas, refused to sign the concealed handgun legislation. She said, "If you don't like it, vote me out!" Governor Bush signed the legislation right after the next election. It does work. Liota
  3. Merlin, Why don't you just ask Benny? You only require one FFL to do the transfer. Liota Merlin, Why don't you just ask Benny? You only require one FFL to do the transfer. Liota

    Terror Alert

Now then, y'all take note. I need to run a mile and a half in 11 minutes and 35 seconds to max the running portion of my PT test. I only need 16/40 hits on paper to qualify with my rifle. No 3-gun off the deck of a carrier.
  6. One of you guys, Sam, I think, suggested that we base everyone's classification on multiple guns. Of course, Jerry would still kick our collective butts, even with bottom-feeders. Going to Jerry's for learning is an excellent experience. Jerry is a great instructor. He taught well and I learned a lot. Granted, I promptly left the country, but I still work on my ability to walk, considering I have so much opportunity. (Lower ranking NCOs are not allowed to drive here.) Flipping hills! I love Korea. I wanted to shoot revolver for a long time and still might. Jerry, Bud Bond and the whole revolver squad seemed to be having such a blast at the American Handgunner both years I went. Man! I wanted to shoot revolver really badly. Especially after I got to shoot Bud's. It was sweet! I think it was one of Jerry's I got to play with at his place a couple of years back. It was nice, too. Although they float, those boys tend to take the long way around. Don't think this little enlisted puke is willing to chip paint for chow just yet. Liota

  10. Kenny, If I had a nickel for every time one of you guys told me to just shoot it "straight up," I'd have one heck of a nest egg. Glad you both made it home. Liota

Perhaps there is a use for the Shooter Thong after all.
  12. I used to shoot Precision Bullets 200grn SWC. I used to put either 6.2 grains of WSF or 4.2 of Bullseye under them. Only one word to describe it... Schweet! Damn, now I want to go sniff burning Bullseye...Dirty, but smells so yummy. Liota

  16. What is the problem with the way we deal with terrorists? We are too nice. I have finally had enough of the BS the Airlines, TSA and all those guys are imposing. Since the incident the other day, they have started to take away carry-on baggage and liquids (including water). I can understand some concern. Heck! Make me drink the stuff. No problem. If I drink it and have no reaction at all, let me board the plane. If I even wince, the stuff goes in the impound, gets tested, if it doesn't pass the test, then I go to jail. No problem. What's next? No baggage at all? Nude on the flight??? WTF???? I'm not done with this one, but I have to go to work. Take care all, Liota

    Stuttering Kitten

A teacher is explaining biology to her 4th grade students. "Human beings are the only animals that stutter", she says. A little girl raises her hand. "I had a kitty-cat who stuttered", she volunteered. The teacher, knowing how precious some of these stories could become, asked the girl to describe the incident. "Well", she began, "I was in the back yard with my kitty and the rottweiler who lives next door got a running start and before we knew it, he jumped over the fence into our yard! "That must've been scary", said the teacher. "It sure was", said the little girl. "My kitty went 'Fffff, Fffff, Fffff'... and before my little kitty-cat could say 'F**k,' the rottweiler ate it!
  19. Nemo, Shaun of The Dead is in the local BX as a rental. I couldn't believe it. I also resisted the impulse to rent it. Yes, I've seen it. Liota
  20. Mike, If you can revive that match next year, I guarantee a whole boatload of people will show up, including me. If Mike is to shy to say it, he want's to bring back the Texas Open. I think it's a wonderful idea. I told him in an e-mail that the last one was one of the best matches I ever shot, chiggers on my legs aside. Liota
  21. Eric, I will be wandering down that path myself in a few months. We'll see what happens. Liota
  22. I'll be there in spirit. You all shoot well and have fun! Liota

    Summertime

Harmon, What I wouldn't give for 28% humidity right now, I'm not sure. It's been raining here steadily for two weeks. I'm soaked to the skin. At 89 degrees F, it's nasty with the 100% humidity. Ugh! If it's this bad, I should be in Louisiana shooting Area 4. Liota
