  1. I could never get Solo to be consistent, and I was tired of being nervous of the Chrono stage all the time so I just started using a different powder. Have you tried Winchester WSF?
  2. If you take the handle off the machine you can turn it upright to drip oil onto the correct surface.
  3. When approaching a barricade from the rear left or rear right: I plant the left foot first for a right side setup I plant the right foot first for a left side setup
  4. From this weeks SCC Edwin Garcia received High Overall Match Champion. So now I am confused if you say there is no award for that.
  5. A big thanks to Jack, Arthur and the whole crew that made SCC 2012 possible. I had a blast, I am pretty sure the whole rest of the squad I was on had a great time also.

  7. That is a really cool idea. I will have to pick some up before I shoot ESR again.
  8. Looking at my records my SSP MA classifier String 1, 2, 3 on Stage 1 were all under 2.5 seconds total time adjusted. You should be able to draw and Moz a target from 7 yds in 1.90-2.50 total time.
  9. You really need to know your times to know what to improve. What were your transition times at 7, 10, 20 yards? Draw to first shot? Split times? Reloads? How was your accuracy? For example you could have been 0 down on the classifier but took way to long to transition. Conversely you could have been fast as lightning on the draw and reload but 75 points dow.
  10. Much of what was said on Student of The Gun can be attributed to marketing. Bill just wants to sell more 4" guns
  11. matchsignup.org works well. We are using their service for one of our sanctioned matches.
  12. I wish IDPA would use an objective approach. The folks at IDPA mean well and when they wrote the book they were simply trying to reiterate the "goal" of the organization. Unfortunately this "Goal" and my other favorite phrase "Intent of the Stage" are quite subjective and get abused at times by MDs. No one is the winner when there is inconsistent officiating or officiating based on opinions rather than facts. I would bet if you wore the CR Speed double pouch or single pouch to 10 Sanctioned IDPA matches this year your likely result would be 3 DQs, 3 Warnings with FTDRs issued for Comp only Equipment, and 3-4 times when the pouches are not an issue. I know the holster list was a PITA when they had that process. The standards they have outlined in the 2005 book are fine, they just need to cut out the subjective modifiers that MDs sometimes abuse.
  13. Terry kind of danced around the issue. I put a follow up post on the IDPA forum stating what I think is the root cause:
  14. Do the knobs make them illegal? I too have been researching this a lot lately and i cant find any rule making this illegal. Especially the double pouch since its closer to the body. You can reverse the knobs and have the knobs on the inside. Reversing the knobs would keep them from catching on the cover garment.
  15. She married her co-worker from Friends of NRA TV.
  16. My last 20K loads for 9mm have been coke bottled. I like them that way.
  17. I have 4 CR Speed Pouches and I am trying to figure out a quick way to change them back and forth between CZ mags and STI. The STI spacer is easy enough to put in and take out, however the CZ spacer requires taking out the thumb screw. Is the tab that fits under the thumb screw necessary on the CZ spacer? I was thinking of cutting the tab off or notching it to fit in and out without removing the thumb screw. Any thoughts?
  18. Do you have any details for a specific instance when this occurred? The last time I had a vendor (Brownells) call me and tell me there was in issue with an order I had it took all of 5 minutes to resolve. I know from time to time online retailers may have a disconnect in the online vs. the physical inventory, however it is not the norm. All my orders for pulled bullets from Power Factor have arrived within a couple of days of me ordering them.
  19. Too make it more interesting next time alternate the 1.5" wide strip down the left side and right side of the a-zone.
  20. Provided the replacement trigger did not override any of the firearms safeties, the M&P would be put in ESP. Similar to the Glocks with a Glockworks trigger in IDPA.
  21. I just got the #2 fully closed with my weak hand. Now it is definitely time to order the #3
  22. I take every new gun I get and toss it in the back of the pickup to bounce around with concrete blocks for a few days. Then I never worry again about holster wear On a serious note if you use grip tape the sand granules will get down in an enclosed holster and make some awful scratches.
  23. Sorry for the confusion we have a squad for the vendors on Friday (Staff shooting day), but the match is on Saturday.
  24. Match fee is $85 before Sept 1 and includes lunch for the 1 day of shooting, which is Saturday complete match info is at http://www.lonestarchampionship.com
