  1. Paypal friends and family payment (gift) is supposedly exempt from this. I guess we will find out for sure in a few months. When your ebay receipts reach $600 you win a prize as well.
  2. Other than making marks on the cylinder during dry fire, is there a reason why manufacturers say extended firing pins are not OK for .22lr revolvers?
  3. I am trying my darnest and I can't get the "WHOOSH" sound you are getting!!! Certainly very frustrating. Thanks for sharing as always.
  4. Have you called or emailed Jack in case he has some 'squirreled' away? (Pun intended). A hail mary and worth a shot. Apex Tactical makes a .140 version of the rear blade replacement in steel as opposed to aluminum. You need to call as it's not a catalog item and is on the secret menu. Be warned its more expensive than the Weigand version.
  5. Update us with your progress, this is a good data point. I spent a lot of time troubleshooting PCCs so information on different combinations interests me (and other I am sure).
  6. This is surprising. I have a GMR-13 & 15 lower. In my experience the GMR is the only PCC lower that can reliably handle hollow points. If one is unable or unwilling to buy a GMR lower, then the TACCOM super feed barrel is a good second option. Its great with hollow points but sometimes may hiccup. All other platforms and combos just doesn't work in my experience. As you note the GMR lower receiver holds the magazine higher which is the secret to their reliability. Try using a JP brand BOLT and your mag should seat.
  7. Looks like people smarter than me have already figured it out : ) If non shooting actions are truly part of IDPA culture, then if love and politics have taught us anything - it's that a simple rule change will not guarantee a consensus. People will find a way, albeit with more aggravation and some resentment. When diplomacy fails, all that will result is that the old skool folk who built up the original IDPA clubs will simply lose their vision and just leave.
  8. It's simple... just build a box around the activator pad that can only be activated by a star shaped peg... the peg attached to the prop. Think of it like a public restroom key.. except only attached to a mannequin : p We've already passed the realm of contention so lets see how far this goes, and maybe they will rescind the shooting action rule... : )
  9. Keep in mind this tidbit. When I first had my levels tested in what, 2008 an acceptable level was 11, and when I got it done again in 2016 acceptable level was 5. When I started asking questions I got the nurse/doctor to admit that this number is based on a statistical average. In other words arbitrary. Long story short.. don't lose your mind. Anecdotally I don't think you need to take medication until you reach 50. The joint pain you are feeling may be psychosomatic. Take small but conscious steps and every little bit helps. Wear a respirator when you shoot indoors or enclosures located outdoors with out good circulation (I wore it before the Covid fad and everyone got tired of making fun of me.. now its totally normal, jeez). Wear gloves when reloading, shoot and load FMJ. Wet tumble your brass. Small steps that add up. You're going to live... if not then, dibs on your guns.
  10. I like the rule change in spirit, just makes it harder to check since there is no visual cue (slide lock). Makes an already esoteric rule even harder to keep track of. But I get you. You have to check as an RO, or else don't play the game if you don't like the rules.
  11. Life was much too simple when counting in 10s, so why not count in 8s or 15s as well : ) Perhaps the 15 round SSP rule is a combination of "giving the EDC shooters what they wanted" &/or "giving SSP an advantage over ESP/CO in overall standing" but I am sure this will lead to more chaos and resentment. Not to mention make it harder for stage designers to balance out stage designs if they care about that. Honestly, SSP shooters (who don't like the 10 round limit) won't be happy until they can get SSP to 17 rounds. IDPA stages are so small as it is, it will simply just remove the need to practice reloading.
  12. Not to belabour the point but I don't think its a "bug"/typo. Seems like CCP was purposely moved to match with Stock Rev 105PF. Kind of perplexing this artifact of 105PF is not new. But hey, obfuscation is part of any game when making up rules : ) Seems like poppers were supposed to be calibrated to 105PF originally for Stock REV, but since it was not a particularly popular division no one probably noticed or cared about the discrepancy in (sub-minor) PF. 2017 Rules 8.3.1 Ammunition Power The goal is to compete with commonly available ammunition. The minimum power factors are: SSP, ESP, CCP....125 CDP...................165 Stock REV .........105 Enhanced REV ..155 BUG ..................95 2022 Rules 8.3.4.1 SSP, ESP, CO 125 8.3.4.2 CDP 165 8.3.4.3 Stock REV, CCP, 105 8.3.4.4 Enhanced REV 155 8.3.4.5 BUG 95 8.3.4.6 PCC 135
  13. Under STEEL CALIBRATION changes: Should be interesting. A firearm and ammo <95PF, if BUG is allowed A 9mm or .38spl and ammo <105PF, if BUG is not allowed
  14. WHut?? "(CCP) Power Factor reduced to 105" this all seems so arbitrary and capricious.
  15. Be forewarned that the Dawson front sight (and prolly all other blades out there) come UNDRILLED. You need to drill it yourself to accept the pin. Also I learned the cross pin on the front sight is .056 which is typically smaller than the size included in most pin punch sets. Maybe this is old news, but I am a noob myself so this is all fresh to me. In digging around in my garage I found that a cut off thumbtack is the perfect size for an impromptu punch. Do not use a 1/16" punch or you will ruin your front sight base... you're welcome : )
  16. Oh wow... how can you share those pics and not share who did the work? Never seen anything like it.
  17. I think it may have been someone else who did the video. Thanks for taking the time to post the inforgraphic.
  18. Do you have a video or instructions on how the DS-10s work? Ie. loading and unloading. Is the 9 year old youtube video still applicable?
  19. You know I never even thought about that... first time in this match and first time in Utah... sincere thanks (again) for the warning. CA is oppressive in many ways but I guess at least we do not have to worry about vicious weather.
  20. Tried doing a search here and on the wild wild web and had no results so I apologize in advance. Does the Berry's Steel Open have rules published anywhere? Is it USPSA rules? My main concern is POWER FACTOR. Is it minor for all divisions or no power factor? Thank you in advance.
  21. Happy to help you lighten your wallet. I've seen open shooters do the same thing to their 9mm major pistols, so you should be fine.
  22. You can shed weight by removing the existing shroud and mount and using the Taccom mount. https://taccom3g.com/product/510c-mount-for-ruger-10-22-22lr/
  23. I usually do a good job with making a Black Friday list, but I messed up and totally missed out on the last sale at the dry fire steel challenge banners. Anyone know any coupon codes? : )
  24. Dude dude dude... Just take a $100 from her purse and buy yourself a hundo case checker! : )
