  1. I'll go $300! I get a little pop when using a Lee FCD that I don't get with Dillon dies. I like the FCD enough that I live with it.
  2. I'd measure the pins before ordering, I just picked up a Colt 6940 with the "Restricted Law Enforcement" markings and it is small pin.
  3. If the bullets mic OK, I'd guess your expander ball is too big.
  4. The slick AR stuff doesn't bother me, but some of the Extreme Shock ammo ads crack me up!
  5. I've watched the first video, thought it was well done. More geared to tactical than 3 gun, but excellent info.
  6. I meant that in the "I couldn't possibly be more suprised about the 9th Circuit decision than finding the Statue of Liberty decaying in the ocean" sense. All becomes clear! It is a shocker!

    MY 650

I had my first primer pop in my 1050 the other day. It looked like the decapper left a ring of primer (just knocked out the bottom of the primer), I didn't notice any increased pressure at the swaging station, popped on station 3. The primers in the tube didn't go up, wasn't as loud as I would have expected. It was a WSR primer, didn't notice the brand of case. Wearing eye protection, no harm to man or machine.
  8. I'm confused....the ruling seems like a good thing. Heston discovering that it was actually the Earth taken over by apes was a bad thing. I never thought he was happy to see the Statue of Liberty. PS-I recently told my wife I was preparing for the Chinese Red Dawn, the zombie apocolypse, and a Planet of the Apes style massed monkey attack to explain some purchases. She rolled her eyes! PPS-I know the difference between apes and monkeys.
  9. Your dog probably points out the similarities.
  10. I'm ditching an A2 stock on one of my ARs as it is just a tad too long, I'm replacing it with a UBR stock that's been gathering dust for a while. I know I have to replace the rifle length buffer and spring with a carbine length buffer and spring. I went to order them and found that they come in a variety of weights. My question is, what weight buffer and what specific spring to get? What manufacturer? Details: 20" barrel, rifle length gas system, non-adjustable Standard AR carrier (no low mass stuff) I'm looking for maximum reliability, don't care about perceived recoil or shaving a hundredth off my splits. In before crap dished out for 20" AR with a carbine stock!
  11. Clean your dies, tumble the loaded rounds.
  12. I'm with Kevin, I use the U, Redding Comp. seater and a FCD and have had zero rejects, so I quit checking. The occasional rim deformity will still be caught as it jams going into the shellplate on the 1050.
  13. The hour glass shape is OK, in fact it is good as it will help defeat bullet setback during the feeding process which could lead to high pressure. This is the main reason I use it, not for the Glock bulge, although it works well for that, too. If you are not using one already I'd suggest a Redding competition seating die to seat the bullets straight. This made a significant improvement in the "straightness of my ammo. As above, gage or chamber check your ammo, then look at the guns and mags.
  14. I'd like to see the case feed shut off switch located toward the top of the drop tube, that way I don't have to cut off the top 1/4 inch of tube or pry the last case up clear the fairly common 9mm in a .40 jam.
  15. Not a concern. Grandmas across the country are cooking Easter breakfast over a gas stove, wheeling their O2 tanks behind them. The biggest hazard with home O2 is tripping over the tubing and breaking your hip.
  16. Some people are alive merely because it's illegal to kill them. Sad fact of life.
  17. Enough mags....some of us remember criminal types assembling mag replacement parts into functional mags, so enough mags to me is enough to last you and your family for the rest of your life including wear and tear, the desire to help your buddies with a mag or two. Everyone will have their own comfort level, mine is a crapload of mags. Enough primers and powder and bullets and brass? Enough to shoot as much as you want for the rest of your life. I realize it is probably too expensive to buy that much stuff, and it would be difficult to store, must consider fire codes, etc. I realize buying in this market does drive up costs for everyone and diminishes supply. So I compromise on how much I can afford, how much I can store, which calibers to stock up on, how mad the wife will be with another UPS shipment/credit card bill, and the feeling of sillyness hoarding can bring. I also realize this: I wish I had hoarded a few full-autos prior to 1986. I wish I had hoarded mags and "pre-bans" prior to 1994. We are always one McDonald's massacre or Virginia Tech away from some new and imaginative restrictions. I realize I can still get components now, most for reasonable prices, if I backorder and wait patiently and don't order off Gunbroker. My advice, don't panic buy, but begin a hoarding plan of your own.
  18. I'm conflicted about the book. I love some of the themes, but it gets very repetitive and preachy. I think a 200 page edit would have improved it significantly.
  19. Never had a problemn with mine, must be lucky.
  20. I'd go to Bob Londrigan's website (Brazos Custom) and see if the article on extractors is still there. Excellent info, also I believe he sells pre-tuned extractors. I agree that your current extractor looks all kinds of messed up.
  21. U of M undergrad MSU Med School I love the Michigan vs. Michigan State games because my team always wins! Hurray for me!
