  1. Duane, I run the gun with a 12# spring. The reduced power striker does not pull the gun out of battery. I was not bothered by the amount of pressure required to release the mag just the length of travel of the mag release. I have no intention of carrying this gun. My "carry gun" is a Glock 23.
  2. Just trim the mag release back where it catches the mag. You actually have to take off a good bit of material.
  3. I just traded my oldest G35 for a G21 yesterday. The G35 was still going strong at the 100,000 round mark, but the deal I got was too good to pass. Mine is set up with a 12# recoil spring and steel guide rod. Did a quick 2# trigger job. Actually 1 lb. 15 oz. Put a HiViz over molded big dot front with a Novak rear. Adjusted the mag release so it drops the mags with just a slight push rather than having to push it all the way in. Fixed the slide release so that it drops the slide when the mag is seated hard. Not sure why I got it, just wanted another gun. Hmmmm might make a good ESP gun with 130 pf loads. SSP without the guide rod??????
  4. Nothing wrong with a G21 in CDP if you can handle the large grip.
  5. Try cutting off the -3 area. Been thinking about having a couple of stages in our local match with the smaller targets.
  6. Do you have any astigmatism? I have a slight amount that causes the rear sight to appear slightly canted though it is not.
  7. One thing that I am noticing is many of the younger shooter are yelling "Perfect Double" every time they miss. At the last Ga. IDPA Championship I noticed a young shooter calling doubles and wanting an overlay on any shot that was even close to a scoring ring. The one "double" I saw him call was shot from 15 yds with a 9mm RN. Hole was in a nonpasted area of the target. As soon as he started walking to the target he started calling "Perfect Double". Boy, he must have great eyes to see that double from 15 yds. away. I was helping paste while waiting my turn to shoot. The SO looked at me as if wanting me to call the shot. I simply said, shaking my head, "I know how I would call it -5, but it is your stage". Shooter got the undeserved double. Come on guys, you know where your front sight was when you pulled the trigger. Take the miss and move on.

    Help With Sights

Here's what I use. HiViz large dot molded and Novak rear. I have found that the model with the replaceable light tubes has a habit of breaking the tubes. I don't like the thin fronts with a tiny light tube. I shot this sight like an electronic dot. Just put the fat dot in the center and pull the trigger. The front sight fills the rear notch at arms length.
  9. George, I have turned your name in to the Glock Police. It is against the law to shoot lead in a Glock barrel. 73, what Glock do you have?
  10. I am seeing too many shooters calling doubles. When I am SOing I just tell the shooter "Perfect double, minus 5" and keep walking.
  11. I too am a tweeker. Some of us came up with the "Vanek Trigger" mod before he did. A 1 lb. Glock trigger is not too hard to do. As you can tell from my posts I am a fan of the stock Glock barrels. My wife's G34 has put five shots into a group, at 25 yds., that could be covered by a nickel. I wish I could find that target again. I do have several witnesses that saw me shoot it though. Most shooters don't take the time to properly work up loads. I guess I don't get too hung up on trying to get those sub 1" groups. The target we shoot at is huge. Both of my G35s will group under 1 1/2" with stock barrels.
  12. I would give him a Procedural because your post is so long.
  13. Clay, you have too much time on your hands. Do you have a life?
  14. FYI I had the same problem with an aftermarket 9mm conversion barrel in one of my G35s. It shot about 3" high @ 25 yds. I took .005" off the step in front of the barrel hood. Zeroed it right up. I don't use adjustable sights on my Glocks. I've never seen the need for them. I shot a friends gun with one of the tall front sights on it. Boy did that feel weird. Felt like I was holding the gun a foot below my eye level. Don't think I could adjust to that.
  15. I think there should be FTNs on swinger targets that move back and forth from cover to clear. I don't consider it a disappearing target if after making 10-15 swings it finally stops behind cover. You have plenty of time to engage the target. Now a target that makes one swing then disappears is a different animal. Same for a drop and twist target.
  16. 4.3 gr of TG and any brand of 180 makes Major out of both of my G35s. I load to a 1.125" OAL.
  17. Makes you wonder though that both Kimber and Springfield use the N/W cut for their production guns.
  18. I don't see how one could get a 1 lb. trigger with the stock striker spring. Maybe with a heavy enough trigger spring. I think getting a reliable reset would be tough. My carry gun is a G23 with just a 3.5 connector added. I did alter the trigger bar slightly to get a smooth linear pull a bit less than 4 lbs.
  19. I have gotten Glock triggers as low as 16 oz. I like them better at 1 1/2 lbs.
  20. Guys, the target we shoot is huge. We are not using these guns for Bench Rest competition. I have never seen a shooter move up in class due to the installation of a "match" barrel in a Glock. I am yet to own a Glock that would not group 2" or better at 25 yds with proper loads. BTW the best group out of my wife's G34 was shot at American Classic Marksman in Norcross, Ga. 5 shots at 25 yds could be covered by a nickel. I do have witnesses. Load was 3.0 gr of Titegroup with a 147 gr West Coast bullet.
  21. How do you contact Awsome Arms? Found them at Dawson. Same price.
  22. Brazos seems to have the best price at $1615. Any better prices out there? My wife just has to have one.
  23. One more thing is most shooters don't know how to shoot groups from a rest. It is much harder than you think. I change my front sight to a thinner one (.090") I made to get a more precise sight picture when shooting from a rest. The gun must be allowed to recoil the same every time. Don't try to hold it down.
