    Glock 40- 45gap

I would buy a 5.3" 45ACP single stack Glock in a heart beat. The GAP is pretty easy to reload. I made Major with a 230 gr bullet and Titegroup without a problem.
  2. Don't you wish someone would make metal Glock mags?
  3. Why not just get a Glock 35 for Production, Limited, Limited 10? You can be just as competitive with a Glock. Let's see $1,800 for a STI Edge vs. $550 for a Glock. The Glock will not be the limiting factor in your move up the ladder. Shot an IPSC match a couple of weeks ago. The guns that jammed the most were the STI/SVI types. Glocks? They just kept going. If a STI was priced in the $900-$1000 price range, like it should be, then it could be an option. I am still waiting for someone to justify the high cost of the STI guns when dealer cost of a BUL M5 is $570. What is wrong with this picture? Please don't try and tell me how much better the STI/SVI guns are put together. I have worked on too many of them. The manufacturing costs to make a STI are not any more than a Kimber. They certainly are not put together any better. I guess when there is a monopoly one can charge as much as the market will bear. Economics 101 will tell you there is still a monopoly when there are only two competitors in any field. Where are you Cy? Tell them about your Glock-STI-Glock adventures.
  4. Mayo, wait until you see my new CDP gun. Glock 21 frame with a 1911 slide and trigger. I certainly hope a Glock never wins CDP at the Nationals. A new rule will come in to play stating CDP is for single action guns only. I wish BW would just go ahead and make CDP for single stack 1911 pattern guns only. That would solve all of his issues.
  5. Itento, the two most accurate loads in my G35 are 3.2 gr of Titegroup and 3.5 gr. Both group under 1 1/2" @ 25 yds with a 180 gr Rainier bullet. OAL is 1.125-1.130". Both loads are very soft shooting. The 3.5 gr load goes a bit over 800 fps. I don't remember what the 3.2 goes. Seems like it was around 750 fps. BTW don't confuse reality with IDPA. The 180 gr. bullets shoot much softer than the 135 gr bullet. Stick a 13# ISMI spring in there and you are good to go for IDPA.
  6. I guess my point is I will be glad to take all of the brass, that has been fired in stock barreled Glocks, that anyone wants to give me. My RCBS dies digest it without a problem.
  7. Vetts, what added weight? Do you have a comp? Don't think you can shoot that in Limited. Gosh, most the .40 brass I reload has come from stock barreled Glocks. I must be doing something wrong.
  8. You kind of answered your own problem. "Factory barrel runs fine with all ammo". Never have seen anything wrong with the factory barrel.
  9. Mike, I don't know what a 1911 holster looks like, but my Glock holster is only 1 1/8" below the breech face. There is about 1/16" gap between the back plate and the holster. That could be fixed easily by removing a bit of plastic. On the other hand if Bill Wilson says this holster is not legal then he can kiss my lilly white a__. It will be time to move to another shooting sport.
  10. Yeah but you have five thumbs.
  11. If it is as bulky as they say how does it throw?
  12. Clay, my wife and I drove 90+ miles yesterday to shoot an IDPA match also. I think there is an IPSC match today that I may just shoot. The Blackhawk holster is legal. So is the Blade-Tec. I use the Uncle Mike double mag pouch. I am a major whiner. Did you like the new Ken look? What a happy face. Sure wish some of us members could have interviewed Bill Wilson instead of the "hired hand".

    G-34/35 question

Clay, I thought I might have to change out the bearing to a 9mm one. Turns out I did not have to. The 9mm bearing is a little thicker than the .40.
  14. Clay, I have not had any problems with my Hiviz front. It is the same height as the factory sight. I see no reason for it to not be legal.

    G-34/35 question

I use a Federal 9mm conversion barrel in my G35. Paid $68 for it. I don't change anything except for the mags. I have over 10,000 rounds through it with only 3 failures. One was a failure to feed the other two were caused by a very dirty chamber.

    CZ SP01

The extended cover should not keep it out of ESP. Then again who knows what will come out of IDPA HQ.
  17. Duck, the model I listed does not have the push button retention device. It just uses a screw to adjust the tension.
  18. Tex, play around with different combinations. 4.2 gr of TG will make Major in my G35. The 4.3 load is the most accurate in MY gun. Vary the OAL length. Try other bullets. I have had great luck with the 180 gr Rainier HP. Shooting from a bench is not as easy as it appears. I put a .090" width front sight on when I am shooting for groups. I use a 1" diameter black dot or black paster as my target. I have not used lead bullets for my IPSC load, only for my IDPA.

    G-34/35 question

It should drop in. Glocks have pretty liberal tolerances. Make certain you have enough striker engagement. If the striker is not caught by the trigger bar you will have a full auto Glock.
  20. Take a look at the Blackhawk CQC holster. Catalog # 415500BK-R. This holster uses belt loops. It also comes with a paddle attachment. They sent me one to try the other day. It is a well made holster and 100% IDPA legal. Belt slots are adjustable for belt width.
  21. Steel City Sports Shooting Assoc. will once again host the Alabama IDPA State Championship Match on April 9th. Info at www.pistolpro.com/ssidpa

    G34 => G35

The frames are the same. Glock went to a 3 pin frame for the 9mm a few years ago.
  23. You really should use the search function first. I am killing time instead of working on a new spread sheet. So, for IPSC/IDPA I use Titegroup with a 180 Rainier HP bullet. IPSC load is 4.3 gr OAL is 1.125-1.130". IDPA load is either 3.2 or 3.5 gr. Can't decide which I like better. FYI there is no more of a KB issue with Glocks than with any other gun. I have seen all of them blow up, Sig, HK, 1911 etc. Just another myth/wives tale/urban legend. Feel free to purchase a "match barrel", but IMO it is a total waste of money. My two G35s will group under 1 1/2" at 25 yards. How much better accuracy do you think you will get with a Bar-Sto barrel? Better said how much better do you need? The IDPA/IPSC target is huge!!! You cannot "gimmick" your way to Master Class. I also think most folks use the VV powders just because of the sexy name. They do not perform any better than Titegroup, yet cost almost twice as much. Maybe Hodgdon should change the name to Tihta Groupuori. Sales would double overnight. Your G35 is capable of 2" or better groups with the stock barrel. All that is required on your part is a little load development. I use mixed range brass. Brass can be bought for $10 a thousand. Why bother picking it up? RCBS dies work for me. I shoot lead bullets through my stock barrel (another myth) for practice. I don't like the smoke in matches. You can purchase a cheap Federal 9mm conversion barrel to practice with also. Just got through with a lengthly discussion on the Glock forum about "match barrels". The ones that sing their praises the most just happen to be the same ones that sell them. Duh!!!
  24. Yoy cannot do a slide down, bullet in the chamber, drop the mag reload in IDPA. Your slide does not have to lock back, but who would want to have to rack the slide at each reload? As stupid as it seems you have to retain an empty mag if there is a bullet in the chamber.
  25. A 9mm conversion barrel is not legal for any IDPA class. However, it is a good idea for cheap practice. I use a cheap,$69, Federal 9mm barrel in my G35. I load a 125 gr lead bullet to about the same "feel" as my 180 gr plated bullet match load. I have never had any feed issues with this barrel. I use the same ejector, extractor and bearing that comes in the G35.
