  1. Not sure what your load is, but you should be able to shorten the OAL a bit. Some Glock shooters load to a 1.145" OAL. I never went the VV route, too expensive. Does not perform any better than Titegroup. The unsupported barrel is one of the oldest internet myths. Ranks up there with lead bullets, firing out of battery and kabooms. You can get a 1 lb pull with a Glock trigger if needed. I have settled on a short crisp 1 1/2 lb pull.
  2. Just thinking it might give the gun a more balanced feel. I don't like the idea of hanging a big brass magwell on my G35. I felt one once and did not like it. I have always thought that the perfect Limited gun would be a STI with a steel frame and a Glock grip angle.
  3. I noticed in my new Lone Wolf catalog that they plan to offer a stainless steel frame for the Glock 22/35 sized guns. Would this frame be legal for Limited?
  4. Never felt the need to add a trigger stop. A proper trigger job will stop the trigger where ever you want it.
  5. Cep, I am curious as to your statement about Glocks and mags. The mags fly out of all my Glocks.
  6. I run a 12 lb. spring in my G21. I load a 200 gr lead SWC to 680 fps. That is about as low as one can go and get reliable ejection. The preception of a slow slide does not bother me at all. I can get .15 splits with the "slow" slide. How much faster do you need to shoot? I was practicing a bit with my G35 and G21 the other day. I was curious as to how well I could do with the G21. My G35 load is a 180 gr bullet at 760 fps. I was really shocked as to how soft the G21 was compared to the G35. My G35 shoots a little softer even than my wife's G34 loaded with 147 gr bullets @ 870 fps. The reloading cost is about the same. .45ACP brass runs $35m. Bullets are $25m. 9mm brass is $12m. Plated bullets run $44m. I am starting to like the G21 as a SSP gun. The one match I shot the G21 in resulted in me saving about 2-3 seconds due to the large dia. bullets. BTW you can shoot lead bullets in a Glock. I have been doing it for years.
  7. I mostly shoot a G35, but have been playing with a G21 loaded to a 135 PF. Those 200 gr SWC lead bullets make a really nice hole. I figure I saved at least 2 seconds the one match I have shot it in due to the large holes. There were 4 or 5 shots that would have been -1's had I been shooting a 9 or .40.
  8. My old tungsten rod is a lot worse than yours. It has stopped wearing down though. I made a long steel rod out of D2 a few years ago. It has no wear marks at all.
  9. I am not sure which is the longest running Glock myth, kaboom or lead bullets. I suspect that the guys that sell the aftermarket barrels keep it alive for obvious reasons. There is nothing wrong with your stock barrel. I have shot tens of thousands of reloads through my G35s. I don't recall ever firing factory ammo through either of them. I get about 14,000 rounds from an 8 lb keg of Titegroup. I go through at least 3 kegs a year. That being said I saw two Glocks blow up a couple of weeks ago at a local IDPA match, G22 and G21. They blew up on the same stage within 10 minutes of each other. Both were the result of either a dramatic overcharge or double charge.
  10. Have you checked to make sure you have the correct ejector for a .40? A 9mm ejector will cause feed issues in a .40.
  11. As an SO I would not have a problem with it. Some would view it as slide lightening.
  12. I too had to shorten the OAL to 1.125" for the jam problem to go away. You can get 20 rounds in the mag and do a reload with the right combo. Two of my mags will hold 21, but are too tight for a reload. Glock has three suppliers of trigger bars. They are not the same. I have been running a 13# spring with a couple of coils clipped for years without any problems.
  13. That sounds like something a Redneck from Olive Branch, Ms. would say. All I have to say about your post is, "Amen brother"! BTW where the heck is Olive Branch? Just kidding I spent most of my youth in Cockrum, Ms.
  14. I had two WSP primers in one lot of 1,000 that had NO primer mix in the cup. Still waiting on Winchester's reply as to how that could happen. One of my friends is also having problems with WLP primers in his G21. The primer has a pretty good hit on it. I started using CCI and Federal LP primers. No problems with them. I have not had any issues with the WSP primers other than the two without mix. Seems like I went through 6 or 7 cases of them last year.
  15. One way to monitor infractions is to issue a warning on the shooters score card. An example would be a called cover warning. No Precedural given, just a warning. If the shooter got another warning on a different stage for the same thing then he was given a Procedural. This was also used for shooting on the move stages. Same could be applied to round dumping. I don't like the idea of a 20 second penality. A 3 second penality would be more in line. Just thought I was through.
  16. Guess it is time for me to back out of this. There are two positions expressed here. Neither side will agree with the other on the dumping issue. Bottom line for me is you will never get a dumping call from me on any stage I SO. Once I learn to read minds then I will start making the call.
  17. Glocks with the new style locking block don't get the peening marks. They don't hurt anything unless they get too deep. Then they will cut your mag lips.
  18. Hmmmm, thought that was exactly what you said. This darn 80 IQ think keeps tripping me up.
  19. Let's see Ken, we should keep a rule that cannot be enforced and is contrary to the definition of Vickers Count. Sounds like a great rule to me. Better yet we should not complain about it. Guess I have never been one of those "follow the crowd, don't voice your opinion, keep in line, don't question authority" kind of guys.
  20. A simple cure is to get rid of the d*** rule. See Duane I did not use that nasty word again.
  21. Someone sent me one of these barrels to try in my G35. I had the same problem. It would not feed from mags with the #6 follower. As I recall the feed ramp of the barrel was more narrow than a Glock barrel. I fed OK from older mags. I returned the barrel as it was not as accurate as my stock barrel.

    New Rule?

Should not the President of an organization be involved? Sounds a lot like Enron and Health South. I got a chuckle every time I heard the leaders of those two companies state they had no idea as to the things that were going on inside their companies. So please let's don't go down the "I don't get a salary so I am not involved" road. That dog does not hunt. You are right I was a bit harsh in the man/woman statement. That one I withdraw.

    New Rule?

Robbie, that is why we have the "Email Rules" in IDPA. I carried a copy of the email Drew sent me pertaining to the use of a Seattle Slug in ESP. They finally came to their senses at HG and realized that there was no difference in adding a Slug than sticking on a steel mag well to a 1911. They both add weight. It would be so simple to have a section on the IDPA website where rules questions could be answered. If not, then have a Q&A section in the Tactical Journal. I know of one "Corner" that could be replaced if one wanted to save space. Bill seems to want to insulate himself from those that pay his salary. It was somewhat refreshing when I actually had personal emails from Joyce asking for my input on the new holster rules. Unfortunately all of that was short lived. It does kind of bother me to see a man send his wife to do his job.
  24. There is a certain satisfaction one gets beating the guys with the high $$$$$ guns with one that costs a fraction of what their's did. I shot a $279 Charles Daly/Armscor for several months in CDP. I thought about getting one of the Parkerized guns in .38 Super and sticking a Kart 9mm barrel in it. I have enough odd parts laying about to make a pretty good shooter. Metal Form says they will have some 10 round 9mm mags ready this spring.

    New Rule?

I need to read my new rule book. What is that [rule] going to accomplish? If someone wants to sand bag they will just shoot the classifier match poorly. It would be soooo much simpler if IDPA went to a IPSC (I can't believe I said IDPA and IPSC in the same sentence) style classifier system. Whoops!!!!! I hear my phone ringing, must be Bill calling. I knew I should not have said IDPA and IPSC in the same sentence.
