  1. I run a 12# Wolf on occasion in my G34 and 35. Guess I like to live on the edge - firing out of battery, lead bullets etc. Hmmmm been shooting Glocks in competition sice the 2nd year of the Gen 1 17. Never have seen one "fire out of battery" nor blown one up with lead bullets.
  2. I have a set of Ameriglo night sights on my carry Glock 23. They are well over 10 years old - still bright. They offer a nice thin FO front sight also. I was talking with Rick a couple of days ago. He told me I was his first dealer.
  3. Your stock barrel is more accurate than you are. OTOH if you are buying the barrel to shoot lead bullets don't waste your money. I have been shooting lead bullets out of a stock barrel for close to 10 years. However if you just want a "cool" look then go with the LWD barrel.
  4. Valiant Bullets close to Anniston,AL. They don't UPS or USPS. They will deliver a large enough bullet order within a reasonable distance. I just pick mine up when I go to Atlanta. Been buying from them for 25+ years.
  5. They do work well but are a little expensive. Another choice is the 10 rd Checkmate 38 Super mag @ $20.
  6. Let's see how you shoot the Classifier. If you shoot Master then you can brag a little.
  7. Can't shoot lead through a stock Glock barrel? I wish someone had told me before I shot thousands of them through my G34 and 35. OTOH Bear Creeks sells everything they can make. They don't need nor want a website. I have used their bullets for years - mostly at major matches. Regular matches get lead bullets.
  8. I have shot lead for years. I can think of only once when smoke was an issue. Lead is just plain less expensive. I pay $40m for 160 gr 9mm, $42m for 180 gr .40 and $44m for 200 gr .45.
  9. All I shoot is lead bullets through my Glock barrels. Every so often I will run a brush wrapped with Chore Boy to remove what little leading I get.
  10. Wes, I use a 14# without a buff and 12.5 with a buff. Main spring is a 16#. Yes, Wolf does make a 16# spring. A 15# feels too light. My ESP 1911 uses a 9# spring to handle the tremendous recoil generated by the 230 gr bullet thundering along at 550 fps!!!!!!!! My bud Randy is looking for a Ruger. I am interested in the internal parts. I read one review that said the Ruger uses the link to push the barrel up into battery. That is not good. That's what the bottom lugs are for.
  11. What OAL are you using? I load .40 to 1.200" Is there a sharp lip on the bottom of the chamber? It is kind of hard to diagnose without the gun in hand.
  12. If it has the same cut as a Rock Island then it is .085" deep rather than the normal .075". Since the gun comes from Armscor then I suspect it has the same cut. If it does have the Rock cut these will fit. I will check my Spartan. Sorry but I am not going to knock off the front sight just to see. I don't have an issue with the FO sight it comes with. http://www.dawsonprecision.com/CategoryProductList.jsp?cat=SIGHTS+FRONT%3ARock+Island+Armory+Front+Sights:Rock+Island+Armory+Optic+Inserted+Front+Sights
  13. I load .40 to 1.200" in my Kimber 9mm/.40. I can't recall the last time I had a FTF.
  14. Loading a .40 long is a non event. You could just use .40 mags and not worry about it.
  15. Is there any chance you bulged your old barrel? Reason I ask is my wife must have had a squib at some point and bulged hers. I noticed she started having bullets that tumbled. Sure enough there was a small bulge in her barrel.

    EGW U-Die

IMO the U-die is a total waste of money and arm strength. I have been using a plain old Lee carbide sizing die for years. I have never had any feed issues with 9mm, .40 and .45. Yes it even sizes fired 9mm Major cases with ease.
  17. Shot a match today in Montgomery,AL. One of the guys on the squad was shooting a 9mm Spartan. He had feed issues all day with Dawson mags. IMO I think his rounds were a little short at 1.130". I load all of my 9mm rounds at 1.150" - Glock or 1911. My Spartan and Kimber 9mms will shoot and feed just about anything. Horror of horrors I shot the whole match with a stock barrel Glock 34 and lead bullets. I did turn my head with every shot waiting for the gun to blow up. I hope the "internet myth/urban legend" about Glocks and lead bullets has finally gone away.
  18. Coco, guess that means I am a "professional" as I was the one that kept their guns up. The customers could shoot any ammo they wanted, not just the range ammo - Atlanta Arms. Guess I need some business cards that say "Professional Gun Cleaner".
  19. I have never heard of a Glock barrel wearing out. I have worked on Glocks, in a rental fleet, with over 500,000 rounds through them - still shooting fine. My old G35 had well over 100,000 through it. No accuracy issues at all.
  20. Wes, I had an issue with one of the Springfield owners and Rob Leatham one night at an indoor range in Atlanta. I had one of the first 9mm Loaded guns. It would not feed. It was pretty obvious to me that the feed ramp angle was wrong. After sending it back twice the owner offered to swap it for a Custom Shop .45. It was no good either. OTOH he did the right thing and gave me my money back. I will never buy another Springfield.
  21. Wes, bring it with you next time we will be at match together and I will fix it. Forgot to mention I have had 10+ Kimbers. No problems with any of them. There are 2 .45s and a 9mm/.40 in my safe right now.
  22. Hate to sound stupid, but how is a sear an external modification???? Does the trigger look different than the stock one?
  23. What did you expect from an off brand pot metal gun? Get a Kimber.
  24. Most folks load a 9mm to 1.135"- 1.140". I load mine a little longer @ 1.150". That's with a 160 gr bullet. My Glocks and 1911s work well with this length.
  25. I looked at the big HF tumbler, but did not like the user reviews. Seems like they are prone to motor failure.
