Remove Holes

Dear Friends.
I have the following problem and I need a solution, without change the barrel

I had a Barsto barrel, with a Cheely comp and 2 holes of 1/8, and being very close, the gases go on my deltapoint pro.

How can I solve that ? Welding - install a cone,
or what do you recommend?

Thanks in advance

Clean your red dot glass. Most open shooters deal with this exact issue all the time.

it looks like ~14mm barrel dia.? not bul barrel

welding can make damage  if this not bul barrel.

To install a cone you would have to turn the barrel down to standard diameter and thread it. I imagine that would be getting pretty close to the cost of a new barrel.

Get a machinist to make a press fit plug / or a taper plug for it.

* do not wield it.  The heat from the welding wrecks the heat treating and will warp the barrel 100%

People who know what they are doing can weld on a barrel with no ill effects.  There are ways to draw off heat, nor does the weld have to be done continuously.  As Toolguy rightly pointed out, a pressed in plug can be blown out - with disastrous results.  Even if I tapped the holes and plugged them with screws, I'd weld them in place.

+1

but consider this carefully  because distance between holes too close

professional welder can do this work  but u will need jig to eliminate metal go inside  rifling.

if i had  approach  to get new barrel i would bye new.

i used welded barrels many years for ipsc training  that shooters ruined and give them to me .only because  were i live i can't bye any new barrel.

Uhhhh, what?

I vote against screws unless you feel like pulling them every so often and cleaning the piss out of it. Otherwise it gets sealed shut and is basically permanent, but it looks worse than a proper weld job.

Maybe just get a mount for your optic that has a blast shield? Or clean it off between stages

Best option. Won't change the behavior or timing of the gun under recoil. But you should just do what we all do, clean the lens before every stage if you have too.
