Maximis228
Clean your red dot glass. Most open shooters deal with this exact issue all the time.

magpulled
I think welding is the long term solution. Heard of ppl filling the holes with screws but I’m not to sure how that would hold up. How far back are they in the barrel and what kinda shield are you using.

Can
Get a machinist to make a press fit plug / or a taper plug for it. * do not wield it. The heat from the welding wrecks the heat treating and will warp the barrel 100% Edited December 28, 2017 by Can
yigal
can u move scope back 20mm ?. if not On 12/27/2017 at 11:10 PM, Maximis228 said: Clean your red dot glass. Toolguy
A press fit or tapered plug will just blow out. If you want to plug the holes you will have to thread in some setscrews with Loctite or weld it. Screws will probably have to be reloctited every so often. MikeBurgess
Thank you for your answers. The barrel is BULL, what happens if I install an EGW cone? ThanksTo install a cone you would have to turn the barrel down to standard diameter and thread it. I imagine that would be getting pretty close to the cost of a new barrel.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk

There are ways to draw off heat, nor does the weld have to be done continuously. As Toolguy rightly pointed out, a pressed in plug can be blown out - with disastrous results. Even if I tapped the holes and plugged them with screws, I'd weld them in place. Edited December 29, 2017 by Tom S.

Otherwise it gets sealed shut and is basically permanent, but it looks worse than a proper weld job. Maybe just get a mount for your optic that has a blast shield? Or clean it off between stages
rishii
I would get another mount that’s moves the scope back and has a blast shield

Won't change the behavior or timing of the gun under recoil. But you should just do what we all do, clean the lens before every stage if you have too.
