HSMITH
I picked this up a month or two ago and really like it. Big knife but it sits low in the pocket and doesn't show the size, very fast and easy to open. As fast and easy as the Kershaw assisted opening knife it replaced. Hasn't been out of my pocket since I bought it. It was a pain to sharpen, the steel is extremely hard but you can shave your face with it. It was sharp out of the package but not wicked sharp. SiG Lady
The gun and gun stuff is mine. Shot it with the gun and rig to show scale. The knife was loaned to me for a lengthy photo documentation of it. Created by a guy in Creswell, Oregon (a few miles south of Eugene). The knife is incredibly well balanced, comfortable and light. Will cut your finger off if you look at it cock-eyed. Detailing is pristine. It's a beautiful tool. I hated to give it back to its owner. But I couldn't afford to buy it. But I think I'll ask him about it again. Talk about seductive...
Chris Keen
Howard is that the M21 ? I just picked up an M16 with a 3" blade, and even though it is small and light weight, I kinda wish it had a bigger (longer) blade.
SiG Lady
Close-up on the knife detailing. One of these shows the case that was fashioned for it.

HSMITH
Chris, mine is the M16-14Z, blade is 3.875" or something close, very close to 4" on the tape measure. I wanted a bigger knife than the last one, it was just a hair under 3", and this really works well for me. I wanted a big, tough, no BS folding knife with a good lock that you can trust. $50 with plastic scales if you look and just a really nice knife to carry every day. I have some 'nice' knives, but all they do is sit and collect dust, will probably blow them out as I don't use them. Knives have really hit the level of just another tool for me. Chris Keen
Nice ...... mine is the M16-10KZ and it's a good medium size. But I want about a 3.9 or 3.75 inch blade.
HSMITH
Chris, check out this link http://www.knivesplus.com/CR-M1614Z-CRKT.HTML Never dealt with them but this is almost $10 cheaper than anywhere else I have ever seen them. Chris Keen
Thanks Howard. Very nice, but I think I'm going to get me another Kershaw. I have the Kershaw scallion and I am really addicted to the assisted openers. I'm looking at the newer Kershaw Tanto Groove in all black.

HSMITH
I replaced a Kershaw Leek with the CKRT, I think it is just as easy and just as fast as the assisted opening Kershaw and I really like the manual lock it offers as well as being a LOT heavier in construction. Should you ever need to use a knife like these and have it close on your hand things will fall off when it does If I could find a Kershaw in a similar configuration I would have bought it, I don't think you can go wrong with a Kershaw. I have had a bunch of them over the years and have nothing but good things to say about them. EDIT: I should add that I carry another small 3 blade folder for general purpose use every day. It opens boxes, makes sandwiches, and that sort of stuff while the carry knife does nothing but ride my pocket. steel1212
I have the CRKT M16-14z. When I open it everybody thinks its a "switch blade". Just a flick of the index finger and its open ready to rock. I beat the hell out of that knife and its still sharp and works great!
splashdown
I don't get too excited about knives, but the one posted by Sig Lady is... WOW! I really dig that one. I've had the same old Spyderco Endura in my pocket for 17 years now. It does everything I need and few days have gone by that I haven't used it for something. Aircooled6racer
Hello: I have a CRKT M16-12Z. It is not too big and stays sharp along time. I am hard on knives using them to cut wood or scrape gasket material off engine parts. A quick note about there service. I lost 2 of the clip mounting screws and order some on line. They were free. Great customer service so I will buy another knife from them. I have some Sog knives as well but they are my fancy ones. Man, all this talk about knives makes me want to buy another one. Any good/cool ones for under $50? Thanks, Eric
