Merlin Orr
Obviously JKR is much more concerned about shooting his gun than cleaning it and ,,,, as JKR has sent in photos of a nasty grungy dirty holster worn REAL carry gun which has obviously just been shot half to death..... zhunter
Hello everyone, this is my frist post on any forum so please bare with me. I would like to submit my application for membership into the snob club. I have been shooting single stack since I started shooting in 2005. I shoot IDPA, USPSA, & ICORE all with my 1911. I have sent Mr. Orr my photos of my shooting iron to post. Since then I got Benny Hill to send it out to get hard chromed. By the way I shoot regular tritium sights no fiber optics. If it helps I already look down on non-1911 shooters so I would make a good one snob that is. I LOVE the blaster!!! steel1212
I have a question. Under the current SS rules would that gun be legal with those holes. We all know where they came from and why they are there but could they be considered lightening?
Merlin Orr
The MD who would disallow the pictured gun for "lightning" to gain a competitive advantage........... Naw. Nobody would do that.... Edited May 16, 2008 by Merlin Orr

Or did you save a gun from a single stack open depths of haiti' I bought that pistol from a buddy who's no longer with us - he had turned that blaster into a squirrel killer by putting on a red dot and a .22 top end.... Hadn't considered that the frame lightening question would come up, but perhaps I should have!! After considerable work, I've now got it back to functionality as it was originally designed! Now that it's come up, is it possible to get a ruling from the Grand Snob?? I was planning on shooting this puppy at the Pro Am - it shoots so soft its like you're cheating. If the holes are clearly the result of the frame being drilled and tapped for a scope mount, I don't see how that could be considered "lightening"; however, since I've heard that some Springer frames are heavier than milspec, it could also be an unexpected benefit. Awaiting the Grand Snob's ruling of course, but I say shoot it in good health.
steel1212
I didn't point it out so you couldn't shoot it I was just curious and didn't want you to get tagged into open because of it. I would say the way the rules are wrote that it would be a no no.
