Camera, tripod position, etc.? -Chet WHAT!? and give my secrets away.......sure. Canon 20D. EF-s 17-85 Lens. ( I got lazy and did not want to swap it for the 70-200L on the dusty range) camera is clamped to a plastic 55gal barrel. Around 25 feet from lens to subject. Program mode, -1/2 stop E.V. Auto white balance. Lens maxed @ 85mm. Shutter release set to drive mode. Pocket Wizzard II remote. I don't have access to the exif data here at work, but f11 @1/350 and ISO 200 would be a SWAG. AF set to servo on center point. Center weighted exposure Image is nearly a 100% crop. Shoulda used the 70-200. Patrick

AikiDale
Great shot! Only thing better than a shot of a shooters face with smoke and flying brass in them would be muzzle flash and a frozen bullet. I suspect you will get one before I do! P.E. Kelley
A heartfelt thanks one and all! I'm trying to get some photo practice in at the minor matches so I can still put in a good effort as a competitor AND capture some good photos at the major matches. It is tougher for me than I had anticipated. More to come. Patrick
