Derek45
My Grandfather Carried this in World War ONE. It's been in My Family since He returned. My Father taught Me to shoot with it when I was a kid growing up in the 1970's. It's a safe queen now, but I took it out and snapped a few photos. Enjoy. . . . My 1911 pics . . . http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v488/derek45/1911/ Edited August 6, 2006 by Derek45

Larry White
I like old guns that have been cared for, and this one has. Look at the diffrent colors where it has muted over time and around the wear points. You should be very proud of that pistol.-----Larry

Run n Gun
Very nice. I have one in the safe that could be it's twin, unfortunately mine's a re-blue . It was made the same year though... 1914. Look here and here, you'll see that yours is one of he first to carry the 1913 patent date. FWIW, I inherited a brush blued Colt (late WW1 Colt) that a collector tried to pry from me for $400 saying it was a reblue. The guy two tables down smiled and showed me his..and verified that it was the original finish. Serial numbers don't lie unless it's a Singer!!!
