  1. Hi John, Just by a standard weight carbine spring and buffer. The heavier ones are used for various pistol carbine AR's or to slow the cyclic rate of a full-auto. The buffer and spring run completely independent of barrel length/gas tube location. I have a 20" that I run a carbine buffer and spring and I have a buddy that runs a 16" with a standard A2 stock, buffer and spring. They both operate 100%. Ed
  2. Yeah, but it's easy to get them to stop. Just call up the NRA Membership Division and tell them to stop the mass mailings and all you'll get is your magazine. You guys REALLY want it to stop? Become a Life Member! When I did, except for the monthly American Rifleman magazine and a solicitation to buy Christmas cards, EVERYTHING else stopped! Ed

    Ammo Car

    LOL!! Sad, but true... Ed
  4. Oh yeah! It's been 30-years or so but I remember this movie. Bad guy: So how long was that shot? 800, 900-yards? Valdez: Closer to 1000. Good stuff! Ed
  5. Dead man walking, or, in this case, giggling...
  6. For that kind of money I'd throw another $200 at it and buy a JP-15. Not only would I KNOW what I was getting I wouldn't be stuck with a 16" barrel. Ed
  7. Didn't we go through this whole select-a-color-for-BE-T-shirts thing just a couple of years ago? It seems like "Dark Gray" won then... Ed
  8. Around here, used Dillon stuff sells for 80% of todays retail price. Ed
  9. They say it's a 1000-round case... Ed
  10. As per the link above: $525. With Crimson Trace: $792 Ed
  11. Hmm. I never had a problem with the old ones and I LIKE them being translucent, I can see which bullet I have without opening the box and pulling out a round. Sometimes a different way ISN'T a better way... Oh well, Berry's still builds them correctly... Ed
  12. Mike, Go for it! As far as slowing down the other guys; if most of the people are running a particular stage in, say, 20 seconds and you take TWICE as long, not a single person will complain. After all, you've only slowed them down a mere 20 seconds and if you did that for 6 stages it's still ONLY 2 minutes for the day. I'll think you'll be pleasantly surprised how much help and encouragement you'll receive. Ed
  13. Hi Bill, Robert Wright uses 310 and I use 4.0 Clays with a 230gr. Both are very clean and very soft with 310 being slightly better, but not enough better to justify the price/availability differences. Ed
  14. IF I was going to shoot through suppressor, or IF I was going to send A LOT of rounds down range full-auto, especially with a short barrel (11.5"), then I MIGHT look at a piston system. Since I don't do ANY of the above, I don't see ANY reason to spend the money to complicate my rifle. It ain't broke.. Ed
  15. +1 This is exactly how I've done it for years with the same results. I believe that rotating the the separator is meant to turn the cases over so that the media will pour out of the bottom. Ed
  16. Cavalry Arms sells a "C-1 Buttstock" that's the same length as an A-1. Ed
  17. +1 I've got one AR that will shoot ~1/2" with certain ammo and 4"-5" with others. Ed
  18. You would only need to run a "carbine" buffer and spring if you were running a carbine buffer-tube, e.g. collapsible stock. If you have the same stock (or, more correctly, the same buffer-tube/receiver extension) on the lower that was on when you bought it, then you don't have to change a thing. Ed
  19. Nope. They'll work in a SR-25 (Knight's) but not in an AR-10. Ed
  20. Hmm, what choke? I run a Light-Modified and, to the best of my memory, never felt I needed a heavier shot charge. And around here they like to put the occasional BIG, HEAVY (non-regulation) steel targets for us to knock over... Ed
  21. 7 1/2 or 8, 1 1/8oz 3-drams will handle 99% of you bird shot needs. Ed
  22. CMP Your USPSA membership qualifies you. Ed
