benos
I thought of doing this a couple years ago, then just forgot about it. (It happens as you get older.) Anyway, you can email me from this page, and I'll add it to my group email list. Now and then I'll send my favorite comments or paragraphs from my favorite Zen masters. (Actually it's more like every weekday.) More details are on the link above. If you use a web browser for email: Email me at: makumozo@brianenos.com With: Subscribe to Maku mozo! ...in the email's Subject Line, and I'll add you to the list. be

benos
I added this reply just cause I was sick of seeing the "We're Under Attack" thread every day as Brian's Forums "latest news." And thanks to everyone who's signed up - at the moment I have 115 members! I'm enjoying it - and I hope everyone else is too. be
EricW
Thank you Brian! I read and enjoy (and sometimes understand) them every day. I post them on the message board on the entry to my cubicle. I think the VP appreciates them...not sure about anyone else.

XRe
Its good stuff. I've saved them aside, and use them as a sort of "Zen Reader" every once in a while...
benos
Just bumping this thread up generated about 15 new sign ups. (I'm at 131 members at the moment.) There may have been a few glitches in my system early on (Mark and Luca). It's hard to say for sure... Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm really enjoying it. I'm benefitting personally from doing it, and the feedback I get feels good too. A friend, who lives across the street, described how she reads them at work. (She doesn't have email at home.) Her job is super hectic (she works with refugees, finding them housing and work etc.), and normally her emails are just one stress ball after the other. But when she gets to a Maku mozo! she just takes a good breath and relaxes... and everything is okay again. be
Al Capizzo
I'm not using my browser's email function, just a yahoo address. The clicky for signing up won't work that way...how do I get on the list?

Thanks for reminding me of that issue Al. One of these days I'll have it so you can enter your email address in the Maku mozo! page... Until then (since I got 5 new sign-ups since this post)... AikiDale
I've been enjoying these since day one Brian but today's is most excellent! Whatever I am that reads this has not read Bankei; whose translation would you recommend? Walking, standing, sitting, reclining, active or silent, whether infavorable or adverse situations, plunge your spirit into the question of what it is that sees and hears everything here and now? What is it that hears? Questioning like this, pondering like this, ultimately - what thing is it? -Bankei

Bankei's known for his "unborn" teaching. The other Bankei book I have is "The Unborn, the Life and Teaching of Zen Master Bankei" by Norman Waddell. be
benos
We now have 245 members. And I realized the other day that I've been sending them for over a year now. That's a lot of Maku mozo!s. Every month or so I update the archives... (Which I have to go do right now.) I wonder how many new sign-ups look at the archives.... cause there's lots of good stuff in there. be
benos
I slacked on updating the 2008 Archives - but I finally got caught up. We're up to 296 members! Thanks for coming in everyone. be
benos
I've noticed an unusual surge (10, in June, now 320 total) in new sign-ups over the last week. I wonder why that happened. Anyway, I updated the Archives through May. Thanks for coming in everyone! be
