Soft, yeah, probably.

But no way you are making power factor with this load.

At what length are you seating this load?

hey man! i actually think you are pretty safe with this load. last chrono was 129 (havent shot the shadows in a while).

this is a pretty common load from what ive seen.

length is 1.1 - pretty short since its a shadow 2.

this is from carolina classic 2022:

For my Shadow 2, i have to load at 1.18 for a 125 gr RN Blue Bullet to pass the plunk test.  I'm working up some new loads and am loading between 3.4 to 3.8 gr of Titegroup.  I will post chrono results as soon as i get out to the range.

That's about where I'm at too, I settled on 3.7 of TG, i was afraid that loading to 1.16 it wouldnt pass plunking considering cz's notorious short Chambers, but somehow it passed in all 3 czs in my safe

Must be a typo, did you mean 1.08? That is where I find that brand of bullet to OAL.

Also 1.18" won't feed in my CZ mags, too long. About 1.15" is max.

hey sorry its the FP but the RNs are just find too.

i like the clean hole that the FPs leave in the target (for scoring reasons).

i was just ordering 355 but i bet you could get a little more out of 356 with the same powder charge

no worries at all!

Yes you are right.  I meant to type 1.118.  Thanks so much for catching that!  Would hate to post bad information here.

Got out to the range today and wanted to post my results.  These are shot through a shadow 2 of course. ;)

The chrono was acting funny when i was testing the 3.8 gr loads, so I'm not posting the results, but i will try again soon.

125 gr Blue Coated Bullet

3.4 gr Titegroup

average power factor = 129.95

125 gr Blue Coated Bullet

3.6 gr Titegroup

average power factor = 133.05

125 gr Blue Coated Bullet

4.0 gr Titegroup

average power factor = 140.75

I sold my S2 because of this I was fed up with loading separately for a non primary gun. The best answer is to have barrel rechambered so that it likes everything you already make for other guns. Off hand I think I was loading 1.08" for the CZ. It was very easy to tell that apart from the rest of the ammo I make

Finally getting back into reloading. First time for Shadow 2. Just curious what people are preferring in 2024?

I've been using xtreme 124s loaded over 3.9 of titegroup at 1.13 oal, it's always worked so haven't deviated from that

Worked up some loads using CFE Pistol last week and chronoe'ed them this weekend with a buddies Garmin Xero C1 Pro.

Results below:

Shadow 2

Bullet: 125 gr Blue Bullet RN

Powder: CFE Pistol

OAL: 1.118

4.0 gr

Avg Velocity: 963

PF: 120.375

4.4 gr

Avg Velocity: 1027

PF: 128.375

4.6 gr

Avg Velocity: 1079

PF: 134.875

I imagine 4.5 gr would put me closer to straight 130 PF, but i haven't tested that.
