Posvar
My daughter’s AR9 PCC has a Faxon new gen bolt and we need a replacement firing pin or two. Bought a new JP and it won’t fit in the hole and function correctly. I saw some at PSA. Are these ok? If not where should I get some? Went to the Faxon site and did not see an option to get just a FP. Thanks Edited December 14, 2019 by Posvar Link to comment
mveto
Look at the Wilson Combat bullet proof firing pin. I’ve had very good luck with it, well over 1k rounds and still looks brand new. https://shopwilsoncombat.com/Bullet-Proof-9mm-AR-Firing-Pin-S-7-Tool-Steel/productinfo/TR-AR9FP/ Link to comment
Bwillis
https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-custom-ar-9-enhanced-firing-pin-116003.html IMO best firing pin for the price. It has a taper instead of a shelf. https://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Wilson-9mm-AR-Firing-Pin-Spring-P5156.aspx also replace the firing pin spring while you’re at it. https://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Wilson-9mm-AR-Firing-Pin-Spring-P5156.aspx Link to comment
Posvar
Thanks guys! I will order one of each to see how they do. We are expecting them to break with the 24C trigger that's in it but it would be nice to find some good ones. I will get some springs as well. Matt Link to comment
chevrofreak
I have broken tons of firing pins, including like 4 Wilson's. I am currently running the PSA titanium with good luck. Link to comment
cecil
I am yet to experience a firing pin breakage .. ( over 7500 rounds & counting) . presently I am using a Hiper Fire 24C trigger & Taccom firing pin.. Link to comment
nheiny13
Iron City Rifle Works also makes some titanium during pins for the AR9 if you wanted to try those out. Their optimized pin is guaranteed to last at least 10k rounds Link to comment
scooterj
Taccom is my first choice with Wilson running a close second. Link to comment
TRUBL
Our firing pin (TACCOM) has been pretty much bullet proof (since we changed the design) and yes, we designed that taper that a lot of companies are now using. Ours also comes with a spring. I would say that except for some of the older ones we had that are still out there, the new design (almost a year now) has been excellent. Link to comment

Have you found a spring weight that works the best? Link to comment

No Recoil spring? No Hammer spring? for the most part no.......if anything, the hiperfire set with the lightest trigger mmmmmmight be a factor (heaviest hammer force), but we've not been seeing that lately. I have broken 2 Wilsons and a couple of other brands. Not only broken, but mushroomed the heads. So far the Taccom running in both our PCC's have been bullet proof. Thousands of rounds. gerritm Edited December 18, 2019 by gerritm Link to comment
