3djedi
What do you think a fair price would be for a 5 gallon bucket full of mixed 9mm range brass? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
echotango
$200 or less. Prob about 10k pcs of brass. Could also depend on your location. I haven't paid for 9mm brass and have about 30k. You can get them for $100/5k around here. Edited July 16, 2018 by echotango
36873687
Full to the top is 10 k. Are they clean or dirty
Hi-Power Jack
Value will depend on condition - dirty, clean, rolled, etc. For clean range brass (few .380's, .38 supers and .40's) and some with crimped primers, I was paying $20/1,000 a few years ago (still have buckets left)

zzt
It depends on where you live. I can buy a bulk ammo box full of 9mm cases for $10 from an indoor range. You net anywhere between 1500 and 2000 cases after you sort out the junk. I bought tumbled cases for 2.2 cents each, delivered. I routinely buy super clean, SS media cleaned brass for $27/1000 shipped. I just ordered 6000 fully processed 9mm brass for $199.50 shipped. This brass is sized and deprimed, primer pocket swaged, push through sized to remove bulges, wet cleaned with SS media, dried and lightly coated with wax. It is worth paying 3.3 cents each for brass I can dump into the case feeder without doing anything to it.

Hi-Power Jack
$110 for 5,000 is a good price - looks like nice clean stuff. Don't know how much would have to be thrown away (wrong caliber, crimped primers, poor headstamps, etc).
slayer61
My local range sells all brass at $3 a pound, you sort it.
Steve RA
Do you get to sort it before or after you buy it ???

zombywoof
Two cents a piece is fair for once fired. 8.5 pounds per thousand. Having said that I just bought 6000 for $60.

Steve RA
Actually Jack, it was a serious question. They might just sell mixed brass for $3.00 a pound and you take whatever is in the pound or brass sorted by caliber for $3.00 a pound.

Yes, you get to sort it first on their sluice table, picking out only what you want. Keep in mind this works great for 9, 40, 45 etc. common calibers, but you'd be hard pressed to find 10mm or 357 Sig & the likes
PhillySoldier
Was wondering about this myself. I have two 5-gallon buckets filled w 9mm brass - all same caliber and brand (blazer brass). The one bucket is cleaned and primed, the other not (at least yet). Is it worth selling and shipping or better just to scrap it?
Steve RA
I'd never scrap good brass, remember the prices back a few years. That time could come again. Here is what a friend and I were getting back then.
PhillySoldier
But after shipping costs, how much are you getting?
EEH
I would never prime brass I thought I might sell. Besides I don’t prime brass until I load it.
Steve RA
A. the prices above did not include shipping as it says in the May list. B. the only primed brass I sold was LP Win that was personal and I was switching to small primer .45 so I'd only need to have one primer for what I load for - 9mm, .45 ACP SP and .223/5.556. Remember, the prices above are from the brass shortage period and aren't applicable presently. But, in the future they could be.

CaliYeti
When I'm in a bind I buy cleaned 1K 9mm for $25 from a local place here.
WoodrowAugustus
Prices like that Gunbroker listing make me seriously question why I pick up and clean my range brass. Especially the outdoor stuff.
