  1. Thank you buddy. Thats all i wanted to confirm, im sold. I expected some adjustments, was just primarily concerned if it slowed down processing or not.
  2. Anxious to get but still wanting to see a small video of it fully installed and running first. Its a trusted company name but seems strange of them to not actually show this
  3. The survey i received previously implied they were looking to charge like $300. So im pretty happy to see it being offered at much less
  4. DAA just advertised this on their facebook page. Should start shipping in about 2 weeks. They had sent me a survey about a year ago now asking if I would be interested in such a product. So the idea has kinda grown on me since; specially after I started taking more notice on how long it takes me to mark my cases and/or sort out brass at the range. I am kinda discouraged though that they put out two demo videos for it but fail to actually show it connected to any type of press. I want to see it fully running and confirm its not going to slow down my processing before I commit to purchase. Anyway I figured I would share... https://www.doublealpha.biz/us/double-alpha-automatic-brass-marker?fbclid=IwAR1vgW2_mutbsPTrS9uCIMK5DwMXQfOH0nMOCaF336F3csYD6WCdsWUzsgI
  5. This vid is for a hornady die but is a good example of how to set up your DAA die
  6. Gotta say this has been a damn nightmare and Im getting fed up. Finally got the spare parts kit, broke the machine down and cleaned yet again, used the alignment tool to reassemble. Index ring wasnt broke or cracked though I did wind up breaking the index spring that wraps around it. Luckily I had the new spare parts kit... Yep I winded up sling shooting the spring into oblivion when trying to put it on. Ordered yet another spring and got it back together. Of course I then found the lost spring... Gave up on it all for a couple weeks out of frustration. Tried again yesterday and completely broke everything down and re-aligned yet again. Everything looks squared and centered at the end of the up or down stroke but Im still hitting the shell plate during use and flipping about 1 in ever 3 to 5. Was trying to get a video of it yesterday but gave up in my frustration. I really need this fixed. Im outta reloads at this point.
  7. Is there a particular type of grease thats recommended to be used?
  8. I figured before I stripped the press down again, I'd order an spare parts kit. Its on its way now. Hopefully have it sometime this week.
  9. Yes if there's an after market part available, I probably have it on this press. Its all tricked out lol. I agree with you about the index ring and was thinking the same thing last night. I also agree with trying putting the shell plate ball and spring as well as the index block roller back to stock but dont really think thats the problem.
  10. Good point but no the ejector wire isn't hitting it and i can rotate the shell plate manually and nothing seems to be dragging on it.
  11. The primer punch is elevating while the shell plate is still passing over it. I didnt pay particular attention to the primer wheel itself. Just enough that its catching the left edge of plate slot and flipping the problems. On Sunday I could see it happening perfectly when operating the press with no brass in it. If I pause in the upstroke, the shell plate completes the rotation before the primer fully elevates. With handle in the full up or down position though, everything seems aligned and centered perfectly. (that is until I messed it up) As Rigger described it; its as if the shell plate rotation is sluggish.
  12. Yes it seems like the shell plate is lagging. No problems w case insertions or any of the cases lining up with the dies. No I havent replaced the index ring; this press is only about 6 months old though I have been using it often
  13. Hmmm thats not it then. Again everything looks perfectly centered/aligned with the primer punch and plate slot in the full up or down position. Its just mid stroke as the primer cup is rising the timing seems to be off; it hits the edge of the plate as the plate is still passing over the primer.
  14. That was the odd part in that previously everything did seem aligned properly. All brass lined up where its supposed too as well as the primer was dead center in the plate slot. It was just sort of rising too soon as the plate passed over it during the upstroke. Now everything is outta alignment since I tried to tighten the platform bolts and I still have to fix. Busy week so I havent gotten too it yet. I do have a question though, in searching for the answer online i've seen references about alignment tool(s). The one is definitely the tool that gets dropped in the powder funnel but Ive seen some other references as to an alignment tool for the primer assembly. I am unsure in these cases if they are actually referencing a different tool specific to the primer system or just describing the powder funnel tool. Does anyone know if this is a secondary tool I should get?
  15. 1.6 to 2.5". I actually had one shot group at the lowest OAL that was 2.9" but am considering that may of been a fluke and didnt match close with all the other shot groups. Even without that though I think thats a pretty significant increase in shot group size; all for a difference of 0.09" OAL spread
  16. I previously did an varying OAL test. OAL range was 1.06" to 1.15" for a total extreme OAL spread of 0.09". I was shooting 10 round groups (two groups each per seating depth) @ 25 yards from a ransom rest. Shot group difference was about an inch from worst to best. "
  17. I agree with Jacks post above. I try testing new loads at least once a month and it varies by the components. Just in 115 fmjs ive used 1.075" to 1.115" and all between. It doesn't take long to figure out and you can pull and reload the dummy rounds after. Start long, plunk test in your barrel and if it doesn't spin freely then seat a little deeper and retry Also just to add in your comparison to factory ammo, most companies will load short just to ensure functionality in all different gun types. Thats not necessarily what will work the best for you and your gun(s)
  18. Your OAL is going to differ with each type of projectile you use. So comparing it to your factory ammo isnt a great idea. As said above you want to make some dummy rounds and plunk test them in your barrel. Make sure they spin freely and arent hanging on the barrel riffling.
  19. Ahhh damn I think that wouldve fixed it... I wish I saw this post yesterday I tried to vid the problem last night. Unlike the day before though I couldnt replicate the problem with no brass in the press. Soon as I tried fully processing again it would start within a few rounds. Anyway I pulled the toolhead and the primer assembly. There was a bit of powder under it but not much, not enough that I think it caused the problem. Anyway when reassembly I wanted to double check and make sure the two screws on the platform were tight. I mustve knocked everything out of wack tightening it a bit more. Now everything is outta alignment. Gotta dig through my garage and find my alignment tool now.
