When I started out, I began with a "light" load of WAC - c PF 150, and worked with that for a while. Made sure the crimp, OAL were correct. Chrono'd the load MANY times. Worked up, slowly, with the chrono, to PF 160 and stayed there a while. Then I cautiously worked up to 167+. Needed about 6.6 - 7.2 gr WAC. Make sure you have a chrono, and use it frequently. Actually, loading 9mm Major with WAC and 124 gr bullets is not that dangerous. Scary to load up 2-300 fps faster than +P loads, but it's not bad at all, if you use common sense and work up slowly with a chrono. Worse thing you can do, actually, is not dump powder into your case before you seat the bullet - get a light and look into each and every case before you seat
tcazes
i have loaded up to 7.6 wac under a 124pd with barely any pressure signs on a cci 500. i load 7.1 for my regular 171pf load.

At 6.9-7.0gr I was major, at 7.2gr I was blowing primers out. Edited May 24, 2018 by chevrofreak

Been good to me, so far. From what I've been reading, HS6 is better, but I stopped using it because it's so dirty. The 3N38 and AA7 sound intriguing - might try them when I run out of WAC, but don't like the fact that the case is so full of powder.

Then head off to the range and start with the lowest and work up. I had a regular (umbrella type) chromo that work fine if the sun moon and stars were properly aligned then I picked up an Magneto Speed. However, I have not figure out a way to (safely) attach it to my open gun, works great on anything with a bottom rail and it can be raining sideways and it still works! In any event like you said I always work up real slow, take lots of notes and play if safe. 12 hours ago, Hi-Power Jack said: When I started out, I began with a "light" load of WAC - c PF 150, and worked with that for a while. 36873687
Used blue Bullets PD an MG. I’ve settled on PD jhp 115 grain AA7 10.5 1.165. 9.7 at 1.165 124 pd great load also. The 115 grain feel great an closest to super Comp feel I’ve found.

Malibu13
Running MG 115GN CMJ bullets over Accurate #7 in my Czechmate. If you buy in bulk the cost difference per bullet becomes negligible compared to what you spend on match fees, travel, etc..

Jeremyc_1999
I use the Montana Gold 115 grain Hollow Point. I tried the 124's but liked how the 115s shot
JPG
MG and PD are both very good - I've primarily used PDs for the past few years and they're great! Admittedly, I use 124s, not 115s, but I'd expect that the quality is the same throughout the product line. If you're interested in powder, I use 8gr Ramshot Silhouette.
