standles Posted May 23, 2005 Share Posted May 23, 2005 Lets say been there done that. In my youth I had 3/4 " mild steel plate setup as a swinger at 50 yds. Shot it with a .308 Norma Magnum (Soft point hunting ammo) to "see how fast I could spin the plate" First offhand shot it hit the plate and I droped the gun down to see the plate pin. Instead I got a 2 or 3 inch ribbon of hot led to the chin. It sizzeled when it hit. I have 6 nice stitches to remind me of the incident. Gives me the willies everythime I shoot still not. Next morning inspectin revealed a nice crater that lacked about 1/16 Inch penetrating the 3/4" plate. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
