Open1215
I think the 3 holes at 12 o'clock will be a great setup with that comp. Its what I'd do if I was doing a custom setup on an open tanfog.I think so too. I'm going with 2 not 3 because the one in the middle would have to be right where the slide and comp meet so idk how that would work out exactly... tracking shows the slide will be at the shop Monday

I've done it although I can't find a picture right now. You can also cut a slot in the slide like this:
Open1215
Hahaha! Yes, but you are running a cone barrel. I have a straight threaded barrel. Hole placement would be difficult

ChrisBarger
I am looking for a limited elite but not a pro. I am trying to get more 3 gun shooters involved in a great pistol through education.

Good luck with that. Most guys that see I'm running a CZ are terrified that there's no passive safety.

Good luck with that. Most guys that see I'm running a CZ are terrified that there's no passive safety. 2011s are in the same boat being that with most custom 2011s the grip safety is pinned. Most ROs that I have talked to don't count the grip safety as a legal safety device since most often than not its pinned. Still doing the Tanfo/2011 debate myself

BeerBaron
Hahaha! Yes, but you are running a cone barrel. I have a straight threaded barrel. Hole placement would be difficult the tanfog barrel is actually a fake cone barrel. it's not a real cone barrel/bull barrel like on a stock II or limited custom. For the open tanfogs they are just using a straight match barrel with a big alluminium cone/comp to make it fit the bull barrel slide. at least I think it is. kneelingatlas might correct me on this one. but when a mate broke his comp I seem to remember the barrel was just a straight match barrel threaded for the cone. But yes, I know still different to a straight barrel just with a comp threaded one. and different again to a proper cone/bull barrel threaded for a comp. 1911aow
Beerbaron: Could you please post a pic of the 5" Aussie Stock II? Does it still say "Stock" on the slide or is it just a Limited without slide porting and with a DA trigger? Myself and a mate were wondering wehat the Aussie version looks like and if we should ask to have similar ones imported. Thanks! (or if any other Aus member with a 5" S2 could assits, please)
Open1215
Beer. I believe you are correct about the gold team it is a straight are with a cone threaded on. Mine is a straight limited pro barrel in a lim pro slide with the last 1/2 in threaded. Like on a glock. That's why 2 holes not 3.

BeerBaron
The look identical. No eaa markings of course. Says stock on one side. Other side in small writing says 'limited 38' or limited 9. Barrel is flush with end of slide/dust cover. Apart from that they are a stock 2 but with the benefit of longer barrel and longer sight radius. We get them in both small frame (9mm) and large frame (38 super). At least one is in the us. I'll post some pics later. The technical name I believe is stock 2 limited. Or stock 2 limited australia. Big Nick
Atlas, it's a 40. I'm so good I thought I should give others a chance (by the way, I have some ocean front property here in Indiana if you are interested:) I do like shooting major loads at steel targets with it. Shooting the .40 at the Cincinnati area steel plate matches doesn't seem to put me at a disadvantage. The guys who shoot unlimited, and we have some good shooters in this area, all shoot major loads, even though there is no rule on power factors. It keeps them in practice for USPSA. I'm 56 years old and still can shoot with the best of them at steel. USPSA, I'm afraid, is a different story. Wish I would have started shooting USPSA many, many years ago. Nick, I'm 71 and shoot USPSA in the US and IPSC in Canada. I also shoot Steel Challenge, Carbine, Shotgun and 3Gun. I started shooting when I was 65 and don't I wish I had started earlier. Yer still a young pup! To me, 60% of the fun is in the fellowship and there's no time limit or division there.
Big Nick
Hercter, sometimes I just get too competitive. I just need to shoot USPSA and work on bettering my score and not worry about others. But I still like shooting my Gold Team faster than the STI crowd. Edited June 19, 2015 by Big Nick

But I still like shooting my Gold Team faster than the STI crowd. I hear you Mr. Nick. After a certain age, it occurs to you that it's not so much about the winning well but more about the living well. I compete with me, myself and I with the priorities being safety, fun and enjoying the company. Not to be trite but going home after a match with a new friend beats the crap out of leaving with a better score. :-)
