OK.... first I am an avid reloader and have PLenty of manuals , that said i'd like your load data for ONLY 231 as I've got 12lbs to use up.

I've been loading my 115's with 4.6. I got a bunch of 124 and 147's to load and 147 load data with 231 is scarce.

PLEASE only for FMJ's or plated I don't shoot lead.

so please bullet mfr.....weight....OAL.... velocity If you know it

MY sincerest THANKS in advance.

I loaded 124 gr FMJ Precision Delta's with 5gr of 231 at 1.15 OAL. I at work right now, so I don't have my chrono records with me. It made minor PF and was my goto load for IDPA out of the Glock 34 I had. I'll find my info and post it up when I get home later.

I'm thinking your load is a little on the light side. When I used 115 fmj, with 231, I was at 5 grains.

124gr MG CMJ @ 1.160" OAL, 5.0gr WW231, ~136PF (one of my two standard 9mm minor loads)

147gr Berrys Plated RN @ 1.165" OAL, 4.0gr WW231, ~138PF (a load originally developed for my suppressors some time ago, rejected in favor of a Power Pistol load)

I just fired a handful of this, did not shoot over the chrono but it was a little softer feeling than factory ammo:

- 115 gr Rainer FMJ

- 1.125" OAL

- 4.6 gr W231

So I have some of this to try next:

- 115 gr Rainer FMJ

- 1.125" OAL

- 5.0 gr W231

147gr bullets, OAL 1.130 3.7 gr W231 chrono from there, accurate and fairly soft.

DougC

I use 3.8 gr W231 with MG 147 gr, and 3.6 gr W231 with Zero 147 grain

bullets - the 3.8 gr/MG chrono'd out at 132 (900 fps) at Area 8 a few

weeks ago, and the 3.6 gr W231 with the Zero 147 is about the same

velocity/PF.

This is out of my Browning Hi=Power.

Using WW brass, WW magnum primers, OAL of 1.13".

I use two so far...

115 gr FMJ 4.5 gr of W231 (pretty soft shooting)

124 gr FMJ 4.5 gr of W231 similar to above

115 gr FMJ MG 4.8 gr of W231 a tad hotter load but shoots quite well out of my Smith 1911 9mm. Out of an Hk P30L was a tad hot.

I just got some Montana Gold 147gr, and am going to try about 3.6gr of 231. Should put me at about 900 fps or so with my G34.

I'm using 15 year old WW231, but I need 3.8 gr with the

MG 147 to reach 900 fps (132 pf). Maybe the new powder

might be a little hotter than my old powder?

And, 3.6 gr would be a good starting point, anyway.

I have two loads, one was given above by Walküre but with a longer OAL. My version of that load is:

Berry's plated 147 gr

4.0 grains W231

1.135" OAL

Mixed Brass

CCI Primer

average of ten shots 957 fps out of a G34

Standard deviation 9.8%

The other load I have is

Precision Delta 147 grain FMJ

3.8 grains W231

1.140" OAL

Mixed Brass

CCI Primer

average of ten shots 946 fps out of a G34

Standard deviation 11.4%

Why are you loading to a 140 PF? That's

almost half way to Major.

Walküre, Your 147gr @ 1.165" OAL is the same OAL as my 9mm major load. For my 9mm minor load, I think I'll try your load without changing the setup of my press, since I've got some 147gr plated bullets from you know who.
