I played hooky on Friday and went to see. First half hour was nap time. Got woken up by cellphone call to see our man had shaved and was now in Italy. Speaks good Italian. Meets great hooker. Makes stupid gun for stupid English girl assassin. Right. Then beats a Swede, the dumb English girl, and his own boss with either a Walther PPK or a small Beretta-which got a silencer on it once. The hooker was great and he asks her to run away after all the spy badness is done and she says yes-he gives her a wad of money. He gets shot and dies. End of movie. Italian art movie made for sex scenes (2) and nodding off. Ok for matinee for me at the time as I was playing villain in role trying to not be caught by trainees, but wow-worst George Clooney movie ever. That's saying a lot. Listen to Nemo- I hope he didn't take his wife-we might not see him for awhile.roflol.gif

Thanks for worrying Jade; wife stayed in PR with her mom and siblings, only Francisco and I went to see this POS.

The script has 172 words, TOTAL. Probably the quietest movie U've ever seen. TOO QUIET. The kind that you put on tv on a Sunday at home after breakfast and you go back to sleep. No words and NO MUSIC! LOOOONNNNG SILENCES. Beautiful scenery of the Italian countryside, though. Good enough for a documentary.

Is the guy an assassin or the assassin's armorer? If he's an armorer and he's asked for a super cool concealable, light rifle and all he can come up with is a Mini-14, he deserves to be hunted down and killed. If he's the assassin and the best he can do is a PPK, he deserves to be hunted down and killed.

Who does he work for? Who's after him? Why does his employer want him dead? What's the point? Don't be an assassin? OK.

The only good thing I walked away with was Violante Placido. HOT!

Wait for it in Redbox and after you see it you will seriously consider asking for the $1.00 refund.

I always love movies where the hero shoots more effectively with a 3" handgun than the opposition can with full automatic weapons.. rolleyes.gif

Would this be because the hero picked one and practiced?

Probably - or, just because he is "The American" - and therefore, God is on his side.... (insert American Flag waving in the breeze with Bruce Springsteen song as background music)

Actually, I kinda liked it. of course, it was done, and mcuh better, as Unforgiven by Clint Eastwood. But, as art-house, soft-porn, beautiful scenery (Italy and Violante) goes, it wasn't too bad.

The gun wrangling was almost there. Of course you can't make a suppressor with the tools he had, nor make the modified rifle he made with the tools he had, but they at least handled them reasonably well.

As for "only" packing a PPK (looked like a PPK/L to me)how much gun do you want to be lugging, if your chances of being searched are much greater than being attacked?

Go for the scenery, not the non-stop action, car chases and explosions.

Yeah guys, it is really bad. Utterly disappointing on all levels. I'd agree with Jadeslade that the sex scenes were the only parts worth watching. What was George Clooney thinking when he took this role? When the movie ended I thought something was wrong, "That couldn't have been the ending could it? Wow, what a POS!!!"

George was yelling "Bring me the money"...........
