Flexmoney
Is that gun suppose to stay flat (somewhat) with Major loads?
B.J. Norris
Flex, before that I'd even go as far to say "Is that gonna make Major at all?"
JWK
I believe JLHARDY stated at the Georgia Match there are two commerical brands of ammo that would make Major. JLHARDY was receiving a lot of interest at the Georgia match, the buzz was his guns nearly swept the Mississippi Match. As a die in the wool Limited shooter, I will say that I very tempted to get one for CCW It would be nice to see photos of all the different shortys with prices for a side by side comparison. Chriss Grube
BJ, Lots of tribrid 9mm barrels making major easily and it looks longer than the distance to the tribrid ports.
ErikW
That thing is tiny! I'll bet they named it Stinger after test firing.... Ouch! Ouch!
Rufus The Bum
Am I the only one thinking we could have expected more from STI? For the price, they should have at least included barrel ports and what's with that cheezy comp? I don't know, I think there are ALOT better deals out there. Decent first effort though. lynn jones
is it me, or is that scope mouted way high? look at the clearence above the slide.
B.J. Norris
Guess I stand corrected. I'm not sure how flat/hard it'll be with major loads, but it will be light. I'd lean more towards using as a steel gun rather than a full on IPSC gun, JMHO.

RKooi
Mine's shorter than that...(should I be proud of that or even write it ) My Hardy Custom is set up with a hybrid like John's but has the STI S1 comp. The Stinger must be a Trubor setup (making it even shorter as there is no need for threads.) I am not insinuating anything but a well known STI exec played with a couple of JL's short guns at the 2002 Nats...anyway like Bob said short guns have been around awhile. BrianH
what's the price of the "stinger"? hope it doesn't sting twice.lynn My price list says $2,773.42 retail, that includes FET.
diehli
That's what's posted on STI's site. If the comp is effective, this might be the hot barrel setup (with or without ports)... one piece sounds pretty good to me.

AZGUNNER
Saw all the new models this weekend at the SHOT SHOW. I should not have touched them because now I want one!
mpolans
Wow, I might be the only person here who doesn't like it. I'd worry about the barrel ports being a little close to the comp. I'd think there's got to be a more efficient compensator design that could be used without compromising length too much...especially since it's been shortened so much. hps-user
Check out this website www.hps-guns.de They show under the yellow news block a Shorty race gun with 2 holes in the barrel and a longer comp than the STI its first out at IWA next week, and it looks great
