  1. From the pics, it appears that it is a standard (non-wide) frame.
  2. That would be a sweet setup with a Brazos lightened slide. But would probably be overkill.
  3. I'm not trying to sound like a broken record here, but I have an idea. Why don't we just post every confirmed offer to host the match, vote on it for 1 week, then set it in stone? It seems to me that all were doing here is debating, we have gotten nowhere in over 3 months. If clubs won't respond to requests or you can't get a reply from someone who is looking into a particular club, then it's obvious their not serious about hosting the match.
  4. +1 My 5" Edge took 4.9 of Titegroup at 1.190 oal to get 169pf. 4.5 is more like a load for a 6" barrel. I'd say bump it up to 4.8 with your current oal and you "should" be fine.
  5. Take this as only one opinion, but the 3 guys I know who have bought SPS mags have had quite a bit of problems with them (38 Super). In particular they are not as thick as STI mags and that seems to cause the feed-lips to get bent real easy. Personally I'd spend an extra few buck and get genuine STI mags.
  6. I have to admit that all the mags dropped free 100% before I got the notion to file off the follower tab. I did a very small amount of sanding where they appeared to be rubbing, but still no change. In light of the troubles I've been having, I've decided to put a stock, non-extended slide-release in and just let it go to slide-lock. I think I created a problem where none existed.
  7. Unfortunately there seems to be alot of arrogance in our sport. I've noticed it too many times to remember. But in your situation, next time that happens ask the guy in a loud voice "Could you please repeat yourself so we all can hear how stupid you are?" They usually get the message.
  8. I filed off the tab that is on the slide-release lever.

    Drop Frees

I'm setting up a 35 for Limited and have been using factory glock mags with Taylor pads. What I've done is ground off the follower tab on the slide-release. I filed down the tab on the slide-release to keep the gun from running to slide-lock. Now that there is no force pushing the mags out, my mags "stick" up inside the magwell. Whats funny is that they only stick with the slide assy on the gun. With the top-end removed, they all drop out fine. I've filed the mags where it looks like their rubbing, but still nothing, they still stick. What am I missing? It's not a big problem really because I don't like to run the mags dry, but if I do I don't want to have to pull a mag out. I'd rather it drop free. Any suggestions for a fix?
  10. When Ali G spent the day at the Police Academy was one of the funniest moments ever. His APB about made me piss myself...."Be on the lookout for one honky and one brutha"
  11. IF I ever get mine I'll let you know. This guy is impossible to get ahold of. Won't return calls or emails.
  12. Alot of the Glock forums are notoriously bad. This is the best board (by far) for any shooting sports.
  13. SKB. Their built like a bomb shelter and are only about $40
  14. Bomar adjustable rear + fiber optic front + trigger job, then shoot the hell out of it. That's about all you can do anyways.
  15. Or guys who stand in the middle of the shooting lane airgunning 3 targets for 5 minutes. Practice at home, not at a match.
  16. Ive been thinking about getting one of those for shooting in the summer. Do you have one? How well will it 'compress' my beer gut? Or will i look like an idiot w/ my non-mucled body? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's not fat-boy friendly.
  17. What about when you go to a chrono at a major match? How do you proceed if you tell the chrono guys that your gun physically won't go to slide-lock? Every single Area and National match I've been to, they say to lock the slide to the rear.
  18. My 35 goes to occasional slide-lock while I'm shooting. It's got me stumped because I mostly shoot a 34 and do not have this problem. Is there anything I need to look for? The mags are factory Glock mags and I use case-gaged ammo (MG 180fmj) It is not mag specific, it does it on all the mags.
  19. I've had several named gunsmiths tell me that the STI sear is as good of a sear as they come. With that in mind I have used several drop-in hammers with my STI sear and have had no problems.

  21. Can someone elaborate on what the difference in feel is between the Nylon and Rubber covering on the Hogue Overmolded Stocks for a 10/22?
  22. What I don't understand is that we have offers on the table to host the match, yet we have people trying to track other people down to see if we can use their range. The attendence is going to be great no matter where it is. Lets just accept one of the existing offers and set a date.
  23. The first thing we need to decide is which club will host it. We need to get all the clubs offering to host the match, then take a poll. This probably needs to happen pretty soon to give the selected club time to organize it.
  24. Exactly. It IS too little too late. HQ hasn't listened to their membership from day one, so why should they start now? Fact of the matter is that IDPA is Bills little baby he can do with it what he sees fit, even if he doesn't receive a dime from it. Had he and his blue-ribbon panel REALLY asked for the input from the membership, Do you think the rulebook would be such the joke it is now?
