STI Nemesis

Recommended Posts

Designed by an Italian guy (posing with Liota in the last picture), this is a rather snag-free design in a odd little 7mm cartridge that was tucked away in the corner of the STI both at SHOT. Very nifty...I was impressed enough to put three on order :)

Giancarlo is a nice, nice guy, and his designs are really innovative. This gun is light, flat (in more ways than one), and you can get that ammo from Fiochi here in the US too. Should be a winner.

RE: trigger, I recall being favorably impressed.

I also recall it being sleek and attractive in person, as well as, pleasing to hold, very unlike the mass production pocket pistols on the market. My only reservation was/is caliber and that only because of availability.

"sleek and attractive in person, pleasing to hold pocket pistols" :goof:

Seriously though, I would like something like that for carry, if we could carry here. You could wear that all day and not even feel it....

I thought the trigger was quite decent...short throw, about five pounds clean.

I was impressed enough to put one on account...and one for Liota...and one for my father, who said he would finally give up his Walther PP for something a bit newer (than 1940 production)...

Very interesting. Almost like an updated HK P7M8 without the squeeze cocker. The caliber would be my concern. Smaller than a .32ACP. Sure love to see one in 9mm.

2aHG_Fiocchi_012010A.jpg This stuff?

"Fiocchi 7mm Penna

Billed by Fiocchi as an absolute novelty, this new caliber designed in Italy with IPSC in mind will make its debut on the US market chambered on a new series of handguns made by STI. The 7 mm Penna will be loaded with either a Hornady XTP bullet or a FMJ bullet. Bullet weight and velocity were not available at press time."

Very attractive carry pistol. I also appreciate the round being a lower weight and higher velocity. If I did my conversions correct it's about a 68 grain bullet at 1400 fps. However, "Billed by Fiocchi as an absolute novelty, this new caliber designed in Italy with IPSC in mind," it isn't a large enough bullet to be allowed in IPSC so this advertising is pretty retarded. Also, it looks like that stainless or polished aluminum tab on the left side of the pistol would snag on everything imaginable.

It could be a winner for STI if just

1. They made it a bit smaller (for pocket carry)

2. Made it in 380

3. Get rid of the revolver cylinder release

In the meantime on this one I'm in the same camp as Merlin.
