  1. Hello: Well we went out today in the cold 32 degree weather and tested out some PCC's. 3 of us were shooting the AR9's, Sig MPX, MP5, CZ Scorpion and a Mech Tech to see what we liked best. New PCC shooter, A PCC division shooter and a M PCC shooter. We all had a great time testing these guns out. I still need to collect the data from the other two guys to get the final results. Thanks, Eric
  2. Hello: I think the Anderson Sport upper is lighter than 5.8ozs. It only costs $39.95 also. Thanks, Eric
  3. Hello: Yes it does and you can also use a lighter hand guard as well. The tuff part is getting the original hand guard off since they use red Loctite and the special tool. Good hand guard options are Taccom, Nordic for 22's, Matrix and the new carbon KAW Valley one. Thanks, Eric
  4. Hello: Do you reload or not? If you reload the JP is a very good choice or just build your own using good parts. If you don't reload it is pretty hard to beat a Sig MPX. It will eat any factory stuff and still feel softer than any AR9. Thanks, Eric
  5. Hello: The stock 308(110%) spring when I tested it, it was 15 1/2lbs. Thanks, Eric
  6. Hello: Steel Challenge guns are different than ones used for USPSA or carbine matches. Weight in the correct spot is your friend for USPSA/carbine matches. Steel Challenge is one shot on target then you move to the next so the recoil actually helps you. For USPSA/carbine matches flatter is better so having the weight in the front helps. That is what I have found that works for me. Thanks, Eric
  7. Hello: I have used the black spring(85%) and mostly the green spring(90%) if you look back in previous posts. The green spring is actually 13.5lb and the black is 12.5lbs. The JP weight total using 1 tungsten and 3 steel weights with the carrier it is 4.65ozs. Thanks, Eric
  8. Hello: You can order just the green 223 spring from JP. It is about 12.5lbs. The 5 pack 223 spring set is good if you want to play around with loads, weights and spring setups. I have done all this over thousands of rounds testing. I just keep coming back to my setup. I am using 124 grain bullets now at 131-134PF and find my hits are faster and better. The 147's are softer shooting but just seem slower for me. 115's are too harsh for me since I am a recoil wimp. Playing around with these PCC's is half the fun for me and testing them with a timer tells me the real truth. Thanks, Eric
  9. Hello: It is there standard 4 weight buffer for 9mm. 3 tungsten, 1 steel weight, 308 green/red spring. Try 1 tungsten, 3 steel and the green 223 spring. That will make it shoot very flat. Thanks, Eric
  10. Hello: If they came out with one for the Sig MPX or Glock that would be great. If I could find a cheap one for the Colt 9mm mags I would get that. I really don't like the really long magazines, I'd rather have something closer to my hands. Thanks, Eric
  11. Hello: Both of my MPX's have stock gen 2 gas ports and run fine. I cleaned both guns when I got them and oil them up with lots of oil and they just run. Both can even run 115 power factor loads from my AR9's. They cycle a little slower at that power factor and for me I am running 138-141PF with 115's to make them cycle faster. Thanks, Eric
  12. Hello: I have over 4500 rounds through my MPX's, I have two now. No problem with reliability at all. Tite Group leaves a soot but it wipes off easily. The gas piston and valve I soak in Ed's Red for an hour or so and they clean up nice. I clean the MPX after about 800 rounds and it just keeps on running. I want to do a long term shooting cycle to see how many rounds it will take before it will fail. Not sure if that will happen since I am shooting it in most of my matches now. I do like the longer 16" factory barrel over the 8" barrel with Taccom extension installed. Something new will be coming for the 8" barreled gun soon. Thanks, Eric
  13. Hello: I had to change out the ejector since the original one was soft and kept bending. I used an EGW extended one and ground it flat so it ejects sideways. I also put in an Aftec extractor and cut one coil off the front spring. Lastly I changed out the firing pin stop and radiused the area where the Aftec touches. Check to see if the firing pin stop has a radius and try the Aftec with no front spring. This is with a STI factory upright mount and C-More slide ride. Thanks, Eric
  14. Hello: I wish they made a Glock 17 one and a Sig MPX one. Thanks, Eric
  15. Hello: I am not as big as your friend, I am 195 pounds or so. For flat as a comparison I can shoot 0.18 splits at 18 yards and they are 2" apart. At 7 yards 0.14 splits they are 1" apart. My trigger finger is not as fast as most of you guys because of an old injury but it works every time. I was using 115's, 147's and 135's but the 124 load is the fastest on the timer with a 3 target drill. Thanks, Eric
  16. Hello: My load with 124's is just 3.1 grains of Tite Group giving me 131-134PF out of a KAW Valley 16" barrel. Very flat shooting with my JP buffer setup. Thanks, Eric
  17. Hello: I would get a Hiperfire 24 series trigger, Oden Works mag release, Strike Industries bolt release, mil spec buffer tube, MFT stock, Hogue or Ergo grip. The QC10 lowers are great and work well. Thanks, Eric
  18. Hello: Are you guys short stroking the buffer setup? Thanks, Eric
  19. Hello: You must have a slow short barrel if you are only getting 130PF or you got a really slow batch of powder. Based on that I would think you will be about 150PF in a 16" barrel. Thanks, Eric
  20. Hello: The easiest way to sort out the stepped brass is to put them on a table face up and look for the step using a flashlight. Much quicker than looking at headstamps. Thanks, Eric
  21. Hello: Magpul Glock mags are working great for me. The 21 round ones are great for reloads on the clock. I also have the Magpul 17 round ones with the Zev base pads. Those drop a little quicker since they weight a little more. I want to try the 27 rounders but they are always out of stock. I think Midway sells them about as cheap as anyone and you can get the Glock 33rd ones there also. Thanks, Eric
  22. Hello: Depending on the bullet profile that maybe a little too long for the barrel and possible the mags. If you have a 16" barrel then you will be shooting major out of it with that load. If it is a short barrel then it maybe a little higher power factor than you would like in a PCC. I would load just for your PCC and use a faster powder than HS-6. Thanks, Eric
  23. Hello: Try the bolt without the weight, 308 carbine spring, Blitzkrieg, and short stroke it with 124's. It is one flat shooter. Not sure if I like it better than my JP setup but it is pretty close. This is with a 16" barrel. Thanks, Eric
  24. Hello: Blitzkrieg, 308 carbine spring works well with 131-134PF 124's. Thanks, Eric
