  1. I have a 9mm Trojan, a 40 caliber Trojan and a 45 Springer. I have tried them all in Single Stack. I do score up a little better shooting major regardless of 40 or 45. I shoot 200 grain bullets out of my 40 and 230 grain bullets out of my 45 so I recoil wise, I don't notice the difference, but the muzzle of the 40 seems to return to target a little quicker than the 45.
  2. Align the sights and press the trigger in such a way that you don't disturb the sight alignment.
  3. 9mm 125 grain cast over 4.3 grains of WST will get you about 1060 FPS. Shoots pretty good too!
  4. 4.3 grains of WST is what I was loading with a 180 grain loaded to an OAL of 1.135.
  5. 4.0 grains of WST under a 200 grain cast bullet loaded to 1.180 OAL shoots pretty darn good.
  6. The following always worked for me with glock and STI double stack mags: Load the mag with as many rounds you can. Grasp the mag by wrapping your fingers around the mag body and placing your thumb on top of the exposed top round. Use you thumb to apply downward pressure and at the same time, strike the bottom of the mag base on something firm, but semi padded so you don't break the plastic base pad. Inertia will drive the rounds deeper inside the mag body allowing you to insert another round. After a few go-arounds, you should be able to insert 14 rounds.
  7. Well.....maybe. Truth is they may work great in you gun.....but I would bet you will have some issues. If you already have the mags, give them a try. If you are going to buy mags then I highly suggest you buy 9mm mags. I have Tripp, Metalform and Springfield spec mags made by Metalform. All work in my Trojan 9mm. If you haven't guessed, I pretty much only run the Tripps since getting them.
  8. Hey......that's my load. I have been loading a 135 grain cast bullet over 4.0 grains of WST for a few years. So much for my secret load
  9. I got my replacement yesterday. I had better get my old one in the mail headed back. Blade-tech is a great company.
  10. 135 grain lead bullet over 4.0 grains of WST loaded to 1.130 OAL. 138 PF and takes down steel if I hit it.
  11. A 124/125 grain lead bullet over 4.3 grains of WST shoots great in my M&P Pro 9mm.
  12. IMO cast (lead) bullets and Titegroup is not the best combination. For a minor load the combination will work but....the first thing you will see is a tremendous cloud of smoke. You may also get excessive leading due to the super hot powder burn vs. the lead bullet base. For Major......Titegroup burns way too fast, I would not even consider using Titegroup for major.
  13. Glad you are OK. Could have been caused by bullet set back. I have seen it numerous times while shooting with a LLEA who were using Blazer Brass ammo only in 45ACP.
  14. I can't help much with your feeding problems since it could be caused by many things. The short overall length of the 9mm in a gun designed for a 1.270 length round has always created issues. The loose round dropping out is not a Kimber specific problem, it is a problem with most 9mm single stacks. The 9mm round has a tapered case vs. the straight wall case for 40 and 45. Since the 9mm has a tapered case, the head/rim of the top round catches in the groove of the round below it, causing it to slide forward. When you remove the magazine, since the round has already moved forward, the nose of the bullet catches the frame/feed ramp and is dislodged from the magazine and falls out of the frame when the mag is removed.
  15. G&R Tactical just told me they were back in stock. I have 4 coming.
  16. I have used Wilson, Tripp and McCormick (CMC). I prefer the CMC Power mags for 45 ACP. Note: the Power Mag is a different animal than the CMC Shooting Stars.
  17. If your using WST, I suggest you load to at least a 135ish power factor when it's cold. You will find the loads slow down a little when it warms up.
  18. I don't remember what the stock springs were (it's been a long time since mine was new). I have been running a 12.5# recoil spring and a 19# main spring for the last few years and recently went back to a 14# recoil just because.
  19. Yes, I am shooting 147 grain cast (lead) with 3.4 grains of WST. Makes about 133 PF out of a Glock 34 with Storm Lake Machine barrel. I got about the same PF when I was shooting a KKM in another G34. Dave C
  20. I use about 3.4 grains of WST. Try it, I think you will like it.
  21. I have been using 4.6 grains of WST over my own cast 183 grain TC bullet. I load out to 1.180 OAL. This load clocks @ 950 feet per second out of both of my STIs. This has been the best combination for me and I have used it for years with very little barrel leading. For a minor load in a Glock 35, I used to run 3.8 grains of WST over a 155 grain cast round nose. 1.135 OAL. Great load.
  22. I currently have a Kimber 5 inch 40 caliber. I also throw a 10mm barrel in it every know and then. I use it as a back up for my "Tripped" Trojan 40.
  23. Thanks Dave! I shot this load today and it is everything I'm looking for in a .40 limited load. Thanks again! You are welcome.
  24. I am currently shooting WST and 200 grain TC cast bullets in my Single Stacks 40 calibers. I really like the 200 grainers compared to the 180 grainers in my Single Stacks. The 200s are a little more "pushy" and the 180s are more "snappy". Strangely enough, I prefer the 18os in my STI Limited gun. Mind sharing your 200gr WST recipe? 200 grain Lead TC/3.8 grains of WST/1.135 OAL. 200 grain Lead TC/4.2 grains of WST/1.200 OAL. 180 grain Lead TC/4.3 grains of WST/1.135 OAL. All my 40s (STI Trojan, Kimber, and STI double stack) run 1.135 OAL, so 3.8 is what I usually run.
